I used to always come home with them when I was a small girl. Mom didn't like them. Wouldn't let them in the house. My dogs won't allow them around here either.

A couple of weeks ago, some where in Ohio ( I forget what city), it was found that a person abandoned about 50 cats in his house. It was a foreclosure thing. Anyway, his relatives said he had one cat 4 years ago --female-- & never had it fixed. After 4 years he had 50. They are trying to find homes for them, they are all adoptable ! They are clean looking, good weights, no eye infections & most of them didnt' run & hide from the tv cameras. Pretty cats, well cared for. I would take a couple but I don't think Toonces would tolerate another cat coming into the house, he was a stray & the last one to come into teh household. He still goes after any cats that come into his yard. Last thing he does at night is stand on the deck & watch the woods, looking for illegal cats.

> > Lucky cat and owner. > > They usually can find their way back from along way > off. I guess this was a bit too far. Usually these stories don't have a happy ending. His mom figures he has used 3 of his 9 lives. Once he was exploring the clothes chute & ended up sliding into teh basement, & when he was a kitten he fell from a second story window. She thought he was dead but he fell into bushes, which broke his fall. This last time he climbed a fence in the yard & escaped. She said from now on he is strictly an indoor guy. He's real pretty, black & white with one of those little black Hitler -moustache marks under his nose. -- Edited by CanalGal at 07/14/2009 12:33 PM PDT

I read a story in the paper today about a cat who escaped his yard in a town near me, about 10 weeks ago. He was found, hungry & thin, on a farm & fortunately was wearing a collar & tag so the woman wh found him was able to call the owner & they are now reunited. BTW, the farm is just outside Indianapolis, Ind. The owner thinks he may have jumped into the truck of a grocery store produce supplier, which was on her street.
