I don't remember exactly where I heard that. I think it was on one of the on-demand getting to know the series 3 minute intro clips that you could see at the beginning of season 2. On another note, found some interesting things on the net about entourage. Here's a casting call for the show, casting for some characters that we haven't seen. Strange thing is, this is casting for season 2, as they are looking for Lloyd. Also, Ari's last name in this release is Ari Jacobs? http://www.newsbackup.com/ptopic36297.html Here's an interesting write up of the show. http://www.calendarlive.com/tv/cl-ca-entourage11jun11,0,1447334.story?coll=cl-suncal I particularly like Cameron's comment about Aquaman. "The archetypes are so strong, some have even had trouble separating art from life. Director James Cameron, who played a megalomaniacal director named James Cameron working on a fictional movie called "Aquaman," said he was surprised that acquaintances believed the project was real. When he jokingly remarked that he was making "Aquaman," they replied, "Yeah, I heard that. How's it going?" "The funniest thing for me," Cameron said, "is I could have made 'Aquaman' with just two phone calls. It shows you how warped our perspective is. It spawned real momentum." -- Edited by dirtydawg at 06/30/2006 9:59 PM -- Edited by dirtydawg at 06/30/2006 10:02 PM

Where did you see/hear that? I heard that somewhere too. The idea being that Vince was always off doing movies and they were managing this character that the audience could "self script" and personalize. It is a powerful device if done right. Personally I think they did the right thing with Vince being in the crew. It would have been hard to pull off the "Charlie's Angels" mystic figure while there were so many decisions that had to be made. Plus Adrian is doing a great job. He is shallow at times (in character) but some of his monologues in Ari's office last year were great.

All of you whiners are really starting to get old. Complaining about not seeing the guys doing glamourous things...sheesh, maybe you should watch sex and the city if that's what you want to see. Don't you realize how boring this show would get if every episode, the boys buy some expensive toy out of their reach, go to a VIP party, make some funny jokes, and bang the girl at the end of the night. Have any of you whiners ever heard of a plot device. Without Vince's Mandy breakdown, Vince would be more of a two dimensional character then he already is, you would never see the unique relationship develop between Ari and Eric, you would never have seen Drama and Turtle playing PI tailing Mandy, etc, etc. Bottom line, the Mandy storyline drove last season, gave us insight into all the characters on the show, and created suspense as to whether or not Vince would eventually do the movie. As for this season, Dom's character is the new plot device. I don't think he will be a permanent addition to the crew. The group already has a set dynamic and you can see how Dom has already disrupted it (though I was a little surprised to see how quickly Drama and Turtle turned on Dom). Dom's introduction is clearly going to force the boys to choose between friendship and their old lives back home in NY and their new lives and careers out in LA. BTW, the rollercoaster symbolism at the end of this episode was really well done. For those who may have missed it, it's kind of forshadowing that the guys lives are about to go on a wild ride. One other thing, in case anyone hasn't figured it out yet, while Entourage may boast an ensemble cast, the main character of the series is Eric. It's really about him finding his way as a manager for a superstar in a different (Hollywood) environment which he is still becoming accustomed to. It doesn't help that the star he has to manage is irrational at times, somewhat clueless about life, and to some detriment is loyal to a fault. I remember Kevin or Adrian(not sure who exactly) talking about Entourage and how they weren't even sure if they were going to cast anyone as Vince...the premise being that Vince would be this superstar that was never seen but out of scene, would always create havoc for the entourage through his demands.

Don't worry, I don't think this show is dead yet, just off to a slow start like season 2. The big Aquaman numbers should lead to more glamourous lifestyle. Hopefully they have an episode wher they spend cash soon - these have been the best ones in the past. Whenever they buy shit - houses, cars, guarddogs, pajamas, guilt jewellery, home theaters (or was that free?) - it always ends up being a good episode. Except for the one where vince buys the painting - that one sucked, so maybe my theory won't work. shit.

Oh, enough already with the "Mandy was turning Vince into a pussy" bullshit. Having feelings for someone does not make a man a pussy and the sooner all the wannabe "playas" out there figure that out the sooner they can find out what it's like to actually be in love.

I agree that the feel for these two episodes has been different than the episodes of last season. It just seems that there is less going on now, and while there was some drama with the power outtage, it's just kind of lame that they went to a high school party. Where is the glamour of their lifestyle before? Also, I hate how the season opened. Having them just sit at the table and pass out invitations to the premiere was lackluster and the conversation between the guys, especially Vince's contributions, seemed strained and weird. And where are they living now? It doesn't look like the same house that they bought and it certainly isn't Jessica Alba's place in Malibu. I don't know how you all have found out about the next episode but maybe we shouldn't bash the newcomer. The guys went through a few rough patches last season and maybe a new guy will help keep the peace. Also, we know that Eric new at one point- a few years ago when Vince dated Mandy, Johnny and Turtle were living with him but Eric was still running Sbarro's in New York. Eric came into the group and made it great so maybe the new guy will too. -- Edited by alex2791 at 06/24/2006 10:27 AM

What was said earlier about Vince saying, "first love only happens, once" This was the 2nd season finale "Abyss". The episode before it is the one you guys are talking about with Vince and Mandy drama. Watch it again if you dont believe me. As for the whole Vince an Mandy thing, there are marriages in hollywood that dont last 6 months, Vince has been shooting aquaman for atleast 6months to at least a year , if they already did a sequel. Personally, I am glad Mandys gone she was turning vince into a pussy. i did think it was funny that at the head on premier jesica alba wasnt there and at aquaman mandy wasnt. I hope we never hear about mandy or kristen again. Who gives a shit if they are partying at the playboy mansion or with high schoolers (asside from scenery, but seriously just go watch pron, or better yet turn off the tv, computer an xbox and go get a girlfriend). Vince was the only one who wanted to go there initially and eric cosigned citing the fact that they were basically stuck in the valley ("its gonna take hours to get home anyway"). I think that the decision to stay there was all vince when the numbers start getting fucked and he just wants to get wasted. To the folks that hated the high school party you must watch Almost Famous, especially considering almost the entire ep is an homage to that. I think that the show is gaining momentum, the last time that Vince made a jump like this was Head On and once that did well the show really got into gear. I think that the show is building and if they do 116 its gonna be a different level of hijinx, vince was never thi big, rich or famous. As for the other guys: E - I think that E's next big arch will involve the difficulties of picking vince's next fim with offers flying in from everywhere but still no medellien. Additionally, I'm sure E will try to get his company going maybe even rep drama and of course the whole sloan thing. Drama - I hope drama gets work, real work. Since he got kicked of of the M.O.W. for getting wood it doesnt look like Johnny has worked. If not work the guy should at least get an agent, the relationship of Davies an Drama was funny. And as funny as Drama has been to me he is at his best when the stress of getting a part makes him nuts (its my legs bro). Turtle - I hope they bring saigon back. I think the point of having walsh like turtle's song right off the bat and infact have the same thought of where to place the song is an indication that Turtle might actually know what hes doing or he was very lucky. is it me or is turtle smoking less herb? Dom should be fun the actor playing him is good on the wire so i hope he can add something to the show. One thing I did want to comment on was that the entourage is always together now atleat through the first 2 eps, the guys dont really roll anywhere alone or in pairs anymore and that chages things alot, some of the funniest parts of the show (earlier eps) are small group interaction. -- Edited by moneycashhoes at 06/24/2006 8:49 AM

I still think "The Sundance Kids" episode was my favorite of the second season. I wonder if they ever actually asked Harvey Weinstein if he would do a cameo instead of using Maury Chaykin?

I'm not saying I don't care at all about Sloan and Saigon. Its just that those fews seconds with Sloan in the season opener was all that was really needed for that episode. So, I'm glad Doug Ellin didn't write her some lines just to give her lines. She'll get more screentime when it's appropriate. Saigon will get his due, too, but I'm not that big a fan of that subplot. It just came about in such a contrived, cheesy way. Everyone was so easily won over by that song. And Billy Walsh? Frickin Walsh also thinks it's perfect for QB's end credits? That was all way too easy. As for Mandy Moore, it's almost a year later. Even by the end of last season's finale, Vince was in good spirits saying, "First love only happens once, E." And so he worked with her for all those months and got over it. She's probably been married to that other guy, Chris, for at least a half year now. I think I read that they tried to get Mandy back for the Season 3 premiere for the "Aquaman" premiere, but it just didn't work out. She'll probably be mentioned again. Maybe the whole "Almost Famous" thing in this episode got Vince thinking about her a bit, and that might be part of the reason he wanted to get so hammered. Didn't he and Mandy see "Almost Famous" together like 20 times, according to Turtle and Drama?

Just a refresher for you guys. The same episode that Ari gets fired, and takes lloyd with him...is the same episode that Drama and Turtle take shots with their cell phones of Mandy and Chris shopping and leaving Gucci and Blockbuster. Then there was episode 14. which was the finale. So the 1 and 2nd episodes of this season should have ATLEAST touched on it. Remember they wanted to go to Paris...he was saying that he was in love, he was saying that he's never felt like this before...etc. I tihnk even a sentence should have been mentioned. they made adrien get so into mandy moore, and then no mention of her. Atleast say she died during the movie or something. need to complete the story line, no matter what.

And I agree, who cares about Saigon or Sloan. Stay with the guys!!! (and a little of Mrs. Ari... and Sloane if she's in revealing clothes. But that's it! Unless you bring back the yoga instructor and then that's definitely it!
