Business side of Entourage

Does anyone here know this industry well on the business side? I watched season 5 again and John mentioned that he sells airplane engines and studio only makes up 5% of their business. A major movie studio is pretty big business and makes me wonder how f@cking big is the airplane engine business? Lets talk economics, if anyone is up for it!

Dunas2006 was dead-on accurate. It seems as though some posts have been removed from this thread. Bob Daley (Jew) was the CEO of Warner Bros. for a long time, though maybe no longer. Steven Udvar-Hazy owns Boeing for the airplane discussion.

i could write a book about this stuff
but i'll make it clear & simple....

if you want to be a GORDON GEKO or "john" type bad a** CEO filthy rich elite motherf***er than you have to be one thing and one thing only....a zionist j

if you are a zionist j you can do, have, and say whatever you want and everyone around you will naturally want to bow down to you and do things for you. education, smarts, supposedly "working hard" is all ONE BIG A** joke in this world. none of it means anything, its all an "illusion" to make all 'gentile' (non-j's) to think that we have to do all of that above to make it in this world. you think Sotomayor is getting her position because she supposedly 'worked hard'? LMFAOOO pff what joke...its all politics, its all to make "you" think that you can have what she has if you supposedly 'work hard'. she is getting her position only because the elites above her and in her buisness (law) dont want to make america seem "racist" when in fact race, bloodlines, where you were born/grew up/went school all actually matter

if you are born into correct "bloodlines" and connect to "right" ppl then you can have/be whatever you want, if you are a born a slave (gentile) like rest of us....well, you'll be 'watching' entourage for rest of your life rather than 'living' it

this is our sad reality of this world
you can go and spend your 100k at any ivy league
you can go supposedly work hard
you can do 100 things that are on a list to suppode "success"
but none of it will matter nor do anything for you in your favor but maybe at very least get you a 1-time free lunch some where with some one

mexicans/latinos are hardest working ppl in this country, they work jobs that no "white/blk" americans will work, they go to school (6 out of 10) and they are smart and nice ppl (for most part) are they in the "corporate" system? are they 'WHITE' collar wearing workers? no...they are not, they clean your homes/hotels, cut your lawns, raise your children, walk dogs for likes for kim k. and other a-c list celebs, and all for what? lousy $30-50/day?? pfff...if working hard and going school and do this and that is supposedly way to "success/wealth" in this life....well then latinos in america and other parts of this world would be the dominate rulers and corporates and everyone else would be beneath them

and like maria the housekeeper says in CLUELESS...
"i not a mexican"

oh i forget to mention, beauty is the very 1st thing in life that will get you some where, with out beauty/looks....you dont have a chance in this cruel ruthless hypocritic lying deceitful world.

BEAUTY = automatic money, wealth, popularity, can have whatever/whomever you want

ugly = automatic dont have a pot to pee in
always behind bills, bad credit, cant have anything you want, but get what is ever available to you

Most of the large enterprise CEO's are coming from named university's giving name recognition and shoulder rubbing allowing upward mobility. As in any business sometimes its who you know even when you know nothing. Sort of like acting, its not always your ability that brought you to the dance, but the hot date who had the invite. -- Need a deal? Dealsniffer

I'm in Sales for the electroncis manufacturing industry.

That sounds intense with some crazy experiences. Do you know any CEO's under 35 or even 30?

There is a new show on ABC this August called "Shark Tank" with two Canadians that I know "of"... They do a similar show up here in Canada called "Dragon's Den" on CBC. Basically it's entrepreneurs coming to these "Sharks" or "Dragons" and asking for cash to start up on the base of an idea or solution or even existing sales. I think you'd like it. I wish it was on HBO so you could hear the cursing LOL.

Thanks again for your posts. They are interesting.

I'm in advertising.

The only other big one I can think of is the single minded priority their career has over their lives and families. Some are happily married, some are on wife #4, but whatever.

If getting the job means they have to live in Shanghai for three years, or Warsaw- pack up, kids, we're moving to Warsaw. I know two CEOs who both live in South Florida and commute every monday to NYC, work all week, fly home Friday at lunchtime, and then work most of the weekend at home. Most of us are rooted to where we live- these guys are led wherever they have to go.

I've worked with some guys who were in C- level jobs ( "C" as in CEO level) at a couple of the biggest companies on earth, and I would say, based on that limited perspective, that what it takes to get there is:

1.) Pedigree- growing up in the right place, going to the right schools. Sure, Jack Welch didn't, and several moguls pride themselves on their humble beginnings. But many more had the head start of going to Wharton or HBS or Kellogg or wherever.

2.) Political awareness- In most cases, these guys are savvy enough to survive the Darwinian selection process that occurs at every step of the corporate ladder. By having the prescience to align themselves with the proper policies, currents, people, somehow, they thrive and rise.

3.) EITHER an intense aversion to risk, or the luck to bet big and get lucky. Most publicly held companies would publicly praise a "bold, visionary leader" but privately, they don't want someone who's going to take a lot of chances. Unless this is a person who routinely takes those chances and they pay off and make everybody rich. Most corporations want a safe choice always, which is generally why they can be so soul-numbing to work for.

4.) The charisma to hire people smarter than them, and then take credit for their work.

5.) Simply the ability to be in the right place at the right time. Being the "right guy for the job" when the next chair up becomes empty is not the same as being the BEST guy for the job.

I'm sure there's more, but I'm supposed to be working.

PS Time Warner- is the publicly traded holding company. They are not owned by a larger corp. They ARE the larger corp.

Warner Bros is owned by Time Warner. I'm unsure of the majority owner of TWC, but I doubt it's GE as the show suggests.
