Just caught the Season 2 episode "The Sundance Kids"

Wow, just wow. How did they do it? Each character brings something amazing to this episode, why did they mess it all up? Even Billy Walsh was fuckin hilarious, and Ari was fantastic. This episode is about chasing the dream and moving up in life. I didn't hear one sentence or line about a girlfriend in this episode, either.

These old eps still blow me awawy.

I agree. The ebb and flow to the show was amazing and pretty much everything felt right and had a purpose -- it was fun. You felt the episodes were gonna last forever and they felt longer than they are now. They were just jam packed full of inside info/look, witty sarcasm, blunt honesty & unbreakable friendship in the midst of superficial Hollywoodland. It just worked.

Being ignorant is no way to go through life, jrenai. Why are you the only one who has that opinion about Ari? Because you're wrong, thats why, youre alway wrong. I just watched the first 2 seasons over the past week. I forgot how awesome this show was, makes me even more confused as to what happened to the show. Ari was a completely different character, also he was actually WITH the boys, not talking to them on the phone. I miss Shauna too, I forgot how much she was involved in the show, she brought a great Hollywood dynamic to the group, always bringing up Hollywood inside info. Turtle was awesome, now he's a complete bore.

I'm just going to forget that the last season ever happened, the old Entourage is the one I want to remember.

You're confusing the actor Jeremy Piven with the character, Ari Gold. Piven is the player, but Ari has always been a family man. Ellin didnt write the character based on Pivens life but most likely his own or someone close to him. Its the comedy that Piven brings to this family man that makes it work and doesnt bore us.

I think they changed him into a family man. There are plenty of men that start out like Ari and keep living like Ari all through life. He is a player and that is what we love to see!

Ari is the same man in season one that he is in season 6. They have shown us layers of the character each season. You really cant define a character by the first look that season one shows you. . You dont see him or know him as the full self that he is until you see the different layers that have been building from each season............Why is this so hard for some to get..........

2 problems with Ari's character:

1) Too much yelling, shouting, and demanding. Where are the quick insults that Ari was known for? This started in Season 5.

2) He's a family man now. This is a major problem. The Season 1 Ari wanted to tap his assistant. Now, he has scenes with the fam as he tries to get his son in a certain school. This started in Season 3 Part 2.

Ari needs to come back strong. I doubt he will, though. This show has done nothing but dissapoint me.

Well.......in life we all grow and learn new things, but Entourage doesn't need to be like that. I like the way it was, and it needs to come back. Turtle, no one believes you are going to school, Drama.....ok, you just keep doing what your doing....E, WTF get married on someone else's time......how are you going to hang with the boys with a pain in the azz princess wife biznitching all the time? Vince....where do I start, maybe some more screen time. Ari, unless you are doing a hot scene with mrs ari....get your azz in gear, dump Lumburg and get back with the boys.......Need a deal? Great points, I agree with everything in this thread. It bothers me that the Entourage producers and HBO execs are probably happy with this latest season. They might have no clue about the downfall of this show and the displeasure of all the original fans. Critics still praise the show, Emmy nominations are still awarded. I just want the powers to be to know that they ruined this once great show. Otherwise they will continue this nosedive, hiring the same hack writers. Bring back the old writers!

You made some good points Pacmanla. I agree w/ you. It's obvious that this series went down hill after Season 3 even though there were some good episodes here and there.

Come to think of it, now I'm wondering if next season we'll see the series coming back to its roots. With the crap we saw in season 6, the guys are growing up. Where do we go from there? Perhaps we'll see the old Turtle again. Drama, I don't know wtf will happen to him. Vince, are we goin to still see him bitch about no one hanging out w/ him. Eric, I see a wedding coming up and/or that what's her face ashley returns-i think i'm gonna vomit.

yes, and episode three of season two, aquamansion, also is a good one.

the earlier entourage, knew how to let you escape into their world, and feel good about the possibilities of chasing the dream.

season two, aquamansion episode, when they were all celebrating at the playboy mansion, and ari says "damn i wish i wasn't married." he was with the boys, and all he cared about was vince and making millions, and we loved him for it.

now in the recent episodes, we hardly see him with the boys, and we're starting to see too much of his family life, which i really don't care too much, because this is supposed to be about a hot young actor and his entourage.

turtle boosting vince's ego, smoking weed, and trying to get laid. man, i miss that turtle

earlier entourage, was about vince and his entourage.
it changed, and i really don't know why.

i just wished turtle hadn't changed to this 'new' turtle, because i hate him. i miss the smoking pot, throwback wearing, ny hat turtle.

i miss the earlier drama too.

season one, episode 3 talk show, when they were all smoking pot, and watching vince and drama on jimmy kimmel, was classic earlier entourage, which made people fall in love with it.

it was an escape, the recent entourage is turning into a soap, and it's sad
