Stephen Merchant's 'Agent' is brilliantly inept, Merchant also briefly appeared in The Office as Gareth's 'crazy' mate, Ogg Monster. Andy's nemesis is also pretty good, he makes you want punch him in the face, especially as he boasts about his few measley lines that Andy desperately wants. Barry is great, especially the singing. "MUSTANG SALLY!". Looking forward to the next series, hopefully more people are going to watch it this time. It will never be as popular as The Office, simply because so many people work in office hell, not many people work as extras (sad, but true).

This show is so brilliant. Can you imagine being on the set and pointing out to the extras in "Extras" that this show is about them? Love the irony. Every character is incredible. I do have a hard time hearing some of the dialogue because they often speak low and fast, and I'm not used to their dialect. Regardless, I watch the shows over and over, and am really disappointed that there aren't more episodes.

Yeah Ricky has been with his girlfriend for many years. Best character is the Agent. My favourite parts are when he insists on refering to his other client Shawn Williamson as 'Barry'. I'm from England so for those who don't know Shawn played the character 'Barry' in long-running English soap Eastenders. It's the only role he's really famous for, so everyone knows him as Barry. It would be like Matthew Perry's agent referring to him as Chandler!

Hi everyone, newbe here. Not a really big computer person, but I felt compelled to comment on my huge crush on Ricky Gervais. I dont think I would be normally attracted to him, but he has something about him. I love the show, and wondering why Office isnt played here in the States? And once again, if Ricky Gervais is reading this, keep working your stuff!

She is, indeed, hot. My friends think I'm crazy, but there's something about her. I love it. I watch the show, however, because it's just plain good.

Stephen Merchant all the way. He is comic genius. Ricky is very funny too. But Maggie Jacobs (Ashley Jensen) pulls off her role perfectly I think. Just can't help feeling sad and laugh at her at some of the things she does. Like when she's taking the fake racist test in the Sam Jackson episode. The faces she makes are hilarious. But I'm rooting for Stephen Merchant - especially in the office scene in Season 1 Ep 3 - the "when the wind blows - WHISTLE - yeah whistle' scene. That whole scene is just classic! Hats off mate. -- Awww, badger breath! the good name was taken. Now I'm just a cheap copy.

Is Maggie supposed to be slightly metally retarded? I'm not even trying to be a smartass when I ask. It's just some of the stuff the character does really goes beyond "dumb blond" and I was wanting to know if I had missed some sort of explanation of her mental state. Like she didn't get enough oxygen to the brain in the womb or something. Not that I'm saying that she isn't funny. The character is damned funny, but it just sometimes seems that she goes way past stupid and into mentally challenged. Message was edited by sippingcup at Oct 16, 2005 11:08 AM

I want to see more of Andy's agent. He's the funniest IMO. Should be in every episode.

Of course I am a huge fan of Ricky Gervais, but Stephen Merchant is hilarious too! That scene with Ricky in Stephens office was pure comic genius, it reminded me so much of Laurel & Hardy, they were absolutely amazing. I miss The Office so much, thanks HBO for giving these two a new place to play! And thanks to whoever cast Ashley Jensen (Maggie), America is going to fall in love with her character. Lastly, I notice alot of people slamming The Comeback, but that's just because they just didn't get it, Lisa Kudrow was fantastic and I loved it. Thanks again HBO!

It was at that point that Groening asked Gervais to WRITE HIS EPISODE! So Ricky will be in an episode not just as guest star, but as guest writer too. Cant wait for that one, indeed!
