I agree so much that while I was reading your post below, I had to look up and make sure that I wasn't reading one of my own posts! > Bret and Jemaine have it all as performers. > > They are cute, sexy, charming, musically talented, > funny and charismatic. Bret and Jemaine have it all as performers. They are cute, sexy, charming, musically talented, funny and charismatic. Add to the list physical comedy geniuses! Too funny when Jemaine is slapping Todd in the park and fighting. Jemaine's physical comedy is genius every time he pushes Todd away throughout the episode. And moving his bongos all around the stage! C'mon! And Mad Dancing Bret rocks the dancefloor! He is a really good dancer- even if it is a dance parody! I love this episode and can't wait for more! -- Sue them, just sue them... It's my bluetooth friend.

I was thinking the same thing. Murray will probably bankrupt Crazy DogggZ with some screwy deal like the A.J. Jones situation and they'll get a new manager. Murray will then go back to the guys as their full time manager and ask them if they missed him...just a little? Also I agree with yokococco, that people are missing out on the real brilliance of the show and the characters, by fixating themselves on the idea that each show has to have at least 2 new songs or they're not as funny. I thought this episode was frickin' hilarious and I didn't have to watch it 4X to realize it. It does get funnier with repeated viewings, but I can't see how anyone would think it's not funny on the first viewing. That says to me that people are depending too much on the songs for the comedy and missing all the subtle character ticks and hilarious dialogue. The addition of Todd the crazy bongo-solo player and Demetri was such a fresh and funny dynamic. Demetri's comedy in particular is such a great fit with FOTC. The Crazy DogggZ song was just as amusing as some of the FOTC songs, even Bret dug it! Great end to the season, can't wait for season 2 !! Arf Arf, do the doggy bounce !! > I love this show, and I think it is the funniest > thing that has been on in years. I thought this was one of their best shows yet and a great finale for their first season. The things I like about fotc seem to be the what some people are gripping about. Every week is different theyre not stuck in a formula of 'must have at least two songs' and on cue cast appearances. I love tunning in not having clue what will happen. Well there is good chance of a roll call at some point! That sort of entertainment is in prime time for the hoi polloi. I like that it is not condescending or cliched. Just my two cents

I loved the episode. Like another poster, it was probably my best "first episode" viewing yet and I've watched them all. No Conchords songs was the only disappointment for me. I thought Mel's fickleness was VERY funny, given her obsessive devotion up until now. I didn't take it seriously, knowing that she'll be back in the Conchords' camp soon enough. Jemaine's humor was on fire! He is so tormented and torn between his concern for others' feelings (even Todd's) and saying how he really feels, that he has become a paradox of blunt honesty and obvious lying. Notice how often he struggles with which response to give to a given situation. Mad props to Jemaine the actor on his development of Jemaine the character. Okay, my favorite stuff from this one: Jemaine, in a stage whisper to Murray without moving his lips: "Who's this guy that's on that chair?" Murray, thinking the "private" band meeting would still include Todd, so it would be the same meeting just moved to Greg's office. Murray, reflecting on FOTC's first gig: "I said face the front. You did and we've never looked back since!" Murray, about Todd: "Of course, he's good. He's great! Isn't he? Is he?" Murray, correcting Brett on John Lennon's song: "Give Pete a Chance." Jemaine: "We've been practicing for 56 minutes and that's how long we practice for." Brett, to Jemaine when he's about to tell Todd he's out of the band: "Make sure you say DEAR Todd." (I guess he thought it was like a Dear John letter.) Murray, when Jemaine and Todd show up: "Here we are. The Fonzies have arrived." Murray: "We shouldn't even be arguing in front of the map!" Jemaine when he shakes hands with Todd after their argument: "Ah! He's squeezing my hand a little bit!" And the angry dancing - superb! Someone should start a "rank the episodes" thread. It would be interesting since the opinions seem to be so varied on which ones were the strongest. - Steve -- Edited by SteveFOTC at 09/03/2007 7:12 PM

However, I don't think it is the type of show that would need to faithfully follow plotlines. I think that next season, this whole Crazy Dogggz thing will be a footnote. They will probably imply that Crazy Dogggz crashed and burned, and that Murray probably had something to do with their failure. But I don't think they will dwell on the plot at all. This show's entire season has been more about the great characters and their hilarious antics more than it has been about building a consistent plot. Don't get me wrong, I thought the season finale was funny. I just don't think they will dwell on it in the coming season, and I don't think they should.

Okay I have to admit - on repeated viewings of the last episode it wears easier each time and I'm liking it more. The actor who plays Todd must be great to make me despise his character so. And how can you resist those little nuggets of pure gold uttered by our loveable kiwis and all their hilarious antics and subtle expressions. Some of their humor is so nuanced it sneaks up on you. They make me laugh out loud and shake my head in wonder no matter how many times I see certain scenes. I'm amazed at these guys' talent and innocent charisma. I love that their characters are truly nice guys and so naive and trusting, not thinking of themselves as supercool hipsters with gigantic egos. When they burst out in song and dance, it's so exuberant and done with such chutzpah you can't help but be bowled over. Murray adds so much to the whole ensemble- he's just such a clueless train wreck of a manager, but means so well, you can't help rooting for him. Arj Barker is also indispensible and his sometimes brief confusing utterances are priceless. Not to even mention Mel, world's most loveable wannabe groupie. I love, love, love this show and am already dreading being without new episodes until next year. I'll just keep watching my tapes over and over to get my FOTC fix.
