This was a funny episode.
Can someone please tell me the quote that was used about duct tape and love? There were several referrals to duct tape but the one I'm referring to said something about duct tape holding two things together.... It was late and I dont recall. Please help.
Thank you!

Yes - the sandwhich throwing part - both Bret and Jemaine are OUTSTANDING actors in these parts. . . you are soo right.

I love their facial expressions- Kudos to the filming and editing teams who make sure to catch these golden nuggets in the perfect angles or close up.

I love Jemaine's expression and how he says 'He threw a sandwich in my face".

Watch Jemaine's face also after Bret tells him that he can't come on his next date with Coco and he walks out of the room- Jemaine frowns and looks sad but it's adorable!

Funniest line: Coco doesn't want to go to a strip bar again. LOLOLOLOLOL

He says that he's putting "oh no" together to sound like "Ono" as in "Yoko Ono" because Jemaine is accusing Coco of being like Yoko Ono and trying to split up the band.

That's why it's sooooooo classic when Murray warns Bret that girlfriends and bands don't mix and then immediately advises Bret "hold on to her" because it's a "rare thing" he's got there. So, so funny!!!

I love this part too! The look on Jemaines face, the moment of delay after Bret says, "I'm not going to kill her, man" that was indeed hilarious. Jemaine is exceptional. Bret really kicked major major ass as an actor when he chucked the sandwhich in Jemaine's face - so genuine. I love Bret.

Coco is hilarious too - Coco made the band a poster - a really nice poster and when Jemaine pointed over to the hilarious poster that he had already drawn for the Conchords with the tiny Bret head and the huge Jemaine head and Coco is so sweet bless her heart she looks over at the poster and she's like wow "that's really good - it's better" referring to the poster she made for the band. I laugh when I think about that part. I love it!

I think HBO's worst show was "The Comeback." The typecasted Lisa Kudrow character, the flat jokes, the uninteresting storyline, the bad acting... too much wrong with it to go into detail. I'll just say that if that show was a sandwich, my dog wouldn't even eat it, and he eats his own poop.

Wow, did someone like "Lucky Louie?" Oh wow, I saw like two minutes of it and thought about canceling HBO, but there were some good shows on at the time.
I love "FOTC". I want it to stick around.
Lucky Louie? No. Oh I don't think so. Awful.
Terrible.

Oh I know, Murray is hilarious, and sweet too. Someone wrote a thing about him being like Andy's agent on Extras, but he's so not.
He actually roots for his band, as Andy seemed to do anything he could to hurt Andy's career.
Is "Extras" over? For good? I know this may be a stupid question, but I really have no idea.

One of my favorite parts of this episode is when Murray is giving the guys his speech about how girlfriends are known for breaking-up bands. "Music and girlfriends don't mix," he says. Then, he turns to Bret and says: "How is Coco anyway?" Bret says, something to the effect of, "She's great," and "We're really in-love" to which Murray, then, says: "She seems really nice. Hold on to her. It's a rare thing that you've got there." lmfao!!

OMG! How could I have misse that!? I understood Yoko's name, but I didn't put the "Ono" and the "Oh, no" together. Jemaine is so clever. ^_^ Thanks for letting me in on the joke, plaidsocks. Hehe.

I agree. Hilarity!! ^_^ I'm still trying to figure out, though, the conversation in Murray's office with when Murray says: "Jemaine, you're trying to put 'Oh No' together to sound like... ?!? " And a few lines follow before "Coco" gets squirmy and decides to leave.

Real-life "tape of love" spotted in NYT

This is too good...

from "Abstinence Education Faces an Uncertain Future" in yesterday's NYT:

"You have to look at why sex was created," Eric Love, the director of the East Texas Abstinence Program, which runs Virginity Rules, said one day, the sounds of Christian contemporary music humming faintly in his Longview office. "Sex was designed to bond two people together."

To make the point, Mr. Love grabbed a tape dispenser and snapped off two fresh pieces. He slapped them to his filing cabinet and the floor; they trapped dirt, lint, a small metal bolt. "Now when it comes time for them to get married, the marriage pulls apart so easily," he said, trying to unite the grimy strips. "Why? Because they gave the stickiness away."
