Huh. I just realized that they -- Bret and Jemaine -- were really young for some of the stuff they parody. I suppose not quite too young to know it, but borderline. Interesting. Not quite related, but I wonder how much of the script writing they did. I imagine a lot of it, but some of it is so particular to NY, I wonder.

Excellent point Foux. My kids thought it was funny the first time but after sharing a youtube clip of the footloose dance or downloading the original Bowie in Space song, Space Oddity, (which is really really funny now) so they could hear the comparison they didn't have a clue what the real joke was. -- "I Put A Wig on YOU"... Forgot to mention that this show was the reason I immediately resubscribed to HBO & watched about 6 episodes the minute it came through. AAAdicted! Thanks again. (I'm starting to sound like Mel) Ha!

I just want to say thank you to FOTC & HBO! I started hearing advertisements for the show on tv & one day became so curious, looked them up on HBO's website. Immediately hooked! I think I watched every clip then went on youtube and watched the live clips. It made my day. I hadn't laughed that hard in a while. It's great to have that type of comedy around! Keep the shows, music & laughter comming! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Ditto, that JellybeanTears. Most shows on TV are brainless garbage - dime a dozen reality shows-most of which are geared to the target demographic of 18-34 year old consumers. (Granted that their is a wide spectrum of maturity within that marketing age bracket.) What FOTC does as a show is bring intelligent comedy together with hilarious musical parodies. The many levels of comedy work for all ages. We all like "having nice conversations" and it is great to be able to talk to your teenager or your parents about something cool and hip. Us over 40 crowd aren't necessarily playing the "age card" - but simply expressing how refreshing this show is as a family experience. Plus, you youngsters need us around to explain to you that New Zealand is a real country, and who the Pet Shop Boys and Ziggy Stardust David Bowie are and why it is so funny in the show ! -- Sue them, just sue them... Do you guys think it's too goofy to be > targeted to all levels and roads of life? If you think most (any?) TV programming today is geared towards an older audience you must be out of touch. Much of us from older generations do not care for Real Worlds, Flavor Flav (or whatever) or even most of the stuff on primetime with rare exceptions. Its just nice to have something new that everyone can enjoy. I think that is our point. They are two young guys with a totally hip show and we get it and enjoy too. Not like all the other crap I see my kids watching where I have to shake my head and wonder where I went wrong. -- "I Put A Wig on YOU"... Gina

Let me just say - I find it unusual that people comment on their age so much and feel the need to say "I'm older" than anyone or anything of that nature. It's not the first time I've seen it with Conchord talk and I wonder why people feel the need to justify their "continued existence." Do you guys think it's too goofy to be targeted to all levels and roads of life?

Though I'm sure the audience is mostly younger people, there's nothing about this show that excludes the non-young. As I wrote on another thread, my mom, who's 70, loves it. And it's clean. (Relatively.) It's nice to see something so incredibly funny that I don't have to be embarrassed to watch with my mom.

Just wanted to express my FOTC withdrawal symptoms from last night: 1. depression set in at 10:30 when there were no cute kiwis on.... 2. My fingers pushed the On Demand buttons furiously to see old episodes..... 3. LMFAO again and again thanks to On Demand. 4. Eyes teary realizing that I must wait for a while for new episodes..... -- Sue them, just sue them... It's my bluetooth friend.

Just want to say that I am an older person (waaaay older), but I truly enjoy this show and was so pleased to hear it was renewed. It's about sense of humor, not about age, and I enjoy FOTC's sense of humor. Like Stephen Colbert, they don't break character in front of the camera, except, of course when they do the musical numbers, which are always a fantasy. I also love their music--each tune in a different style--they have great ears and always do an accurate (to my ears) representation of whatever genre they are mimicking. Looking forward to the release of their upcoming CD. And each member of the supporting cast is a perfect complement to the guys. Rhys Darby's cheery character is just the opposite of the band's --he also played their manager on their BBC radio show, only his character had a different name. I'd like to see both Rhys and Kristen Schaal doing their individual comedy acts. How 'bout it, HBO..a one-night stand for each? And the Arj Barker character is adorable--hope to see more of him next year. Anyone know WHEN next year the series will resurface?

With the whacking of the Sopranos and the fall of Rome, FOTC and Entourage are really the main HBO attractions for me. However, unlike Entourage which is very slick, very inside, FOTC is quirky, innocent and is evolving as the performers and the company seem to find their voice. It just keeps getting better. "Foux de fa fa" was a high point for me. So damn smiley/funny - had to watch it several times. HBO, this is the kind of fare that you excel at. It's why I subscribe.

I really do not watch TV anymore. TV lately has made me feel as if my brain is dribbling out of my ears, drool dangling on my bottom lip, my eyes glazing over like a pair of Kripsy Kreme Donuts.I only find myself tuning in at rare occassions, when shows provide me with unique concepts that do not just follow trends. Flight of the Conchords has made me love tv again. Because its not a TV show...its way too unique and brilliant to be called a TV show. Its...its... a magical entity transmitting into a mystical black box from Bowie's nipples...erm...I mean...talented guys from New Zealand. Yes. Its not a TV show at all. -- http://residentofboxfive.deviantart.com/ ^^My art site. Check out some pretty freaky robots doing pretty freaky things.

This show is almost > as bad the one with Phoebe from friends....perhaps it > is aimed at teenage boys I just don't get > it...perhaps I am just to old. surfer_girl, You don't say how old you are but just "to old" (I assume you mean too old) - OK well I am pretty old myself (pushing 50) and I love love love this show. I won't ask you how old you actually are, just giving you a point of reference. Also, may I ask whether you have watched more than one episode of this show when you make this comment? If not, I highly recommend the episode prior to this one at least, if not some of the other earlier episodes. This last one was #9 and there are such a variety of different episodes and you have to watch multiple of them to really "get" it. My opinion is that this show is brilliant, and it's NOT just about Mel (the one groupie) and it's not just about the guys' vocals. The comedy in this show is in my opinion on a par with early Monty Python (and if you are "old" you will know of them, and if you didn't like THEM either, well I guess I can understand your dislike of FOTC also).
