Hey, i love flight of the conchords!! the guys are super hilarious and hot( esp jemaine!)
But, are their accents real or fake? i like dont get it, is new zealand a real place or is it made up cos ive never heard of it!
Has enyone been there??can you guys help me out cos i feel like a bad fan!

Oh yeah, its real alright, I live there! I went to school with Jemaine. He was a bit of a funny fella, but no-one predicted that he would turn out to be the comedic genius that he has... Makoura College Represent!

Yes, I love their accents! I find myself saying "siven" for seven. I live in a university town with many international students and today met a couple of young blokes from Australia--told them I'm working on differentiating between Aussie and Kiwi accents. They said Kiwis say "fush and chups" for "fish and chips." I asked them if they'd ever seen FOTC show on HBO and was told, "Every time we go out people ask us that question!" LOL!

If you're biased, then so am I, and I've never been there, only seen pictures. (And moving pictures.) It's absolutely stunning and also seems to have some of the qualities that people here in the US long for nostalgically.

Just like America is only like canyons, orange bridges and cliffs with exceedingly large faces carved into them? No... please don't think I really think that.
New Zealand is actually a really beautiful country. Perhaps I'm biased because I was born and bred here, but I know that it's also one of the world's top holiday destinations because of its diverse natural beauty and adventure tourism.
And just so you know, we do have cities. They are small in comparison to the mega-cities you may see in the States, but the truth is that the majority of New Zealanders have an urban lifestyle... rather than living with sheep. The great thing is that we don't have to travel too far to get to that country environment you so kindly speak of!

wahooooooo one of our NZ TV channels is going to be showing FOTC episodes soon! yay!!! It means that that guy who puts them up on youtube for us all to see won't need to get his youtube account suspended anymore *inserts cheesy grin*

Had to have a wee laugh when I read this topic tittle, But Im not entirely surprised. Ive had a few laughs at the expense of some uninformed innocent people Ive meet around the world. Describing the great electricity revolution we had in the early eighties and the new fangled flush toilets that are all the rage with the well to do.
I like that we are largely unknown down here, guess Im bit of jealous lover when it comes my country, You can look but you cant touch!

and I graduated in '74 dude. Those days were the best in so many ways. and yes, polyester bell bottoms, mood rings and navy pea coats were de rigueur

Didn't catch the Boothe man in SC, but did hear of it. Yeah, he was pretty on as J.J. in Jonestown.
Graduated HS in '75? Yes, those were the gold old daze and confused: mood rings, polyester bell bottoms and EVERYBODY was Kung-Fu fighting.

I do remember Powers as Jim Jones. That whole story chilled me to the bone. Did you see him in "Southern Comfort"?...also starred Keith Carradine and Peter Coyote, and was directed by Walter Hill, all of "Deadwood" fame.

sooo I just googled new zealand and found that its is indeed a country. It looks quite nice but a bit boring as its only like grass and trees and sheep...a let down to be honest

If you are old enough to remember A. Bunker 704 Hauser Street, then you probably remember Powers/Cy's first role of note as that loeveable chucklemonkey Jim Jones. Got him an Emmy during the Writers Guild Strike.
