I am an African American female (50 yrs.) and I never watched Hardknocks until one night as i was channel surfing I saw the Bengals new reality show. And there was Coach Lewis in all his gorgeous and delicious glory. The brother is pretty hot and quite attractive for around 50. His wifey is a very lucky woman. Hmmm, wonder how long he has been married? Now that is a real man.

Cash, this isn't the XFL. Players still take physicals before signing. Smith did not sign hurt.
Also, he has a weight clause in his contract. Being sidelined won't help with losing weight. He can't still workout (rehab), but he won't be getting reps.

Does anyone else think that Andre Smith was already hurt before he signed, and because he had to insurance he signed? If you really watch the 4th episode he was limping around while introducing himself to people and you can really see it when he went to talk to mike brown. If you really want to read into it he wasn't in any rush to sign. The bengals offered him that same deal 3 weeks ago. WHY NOW? How do you get injured within 3 days of signing. As an ex college football player, myself, you can practice on a fractured foot. Especially if you just signed 21 million dollars guaranteed for a couple of days. ANY BODY WOULD DO IT. so I honestly feel he was already hurt

Mike Brown is a cheap bastard. The days of running an NFL team like his dad are over. His daughter is another one too. Bunch of losers. The coaching staff is really very good but you are only as good as the players. Carson Palmer is an average QB at best. He's lucky he has two good receivers in Henry and Ocho. I like the show very much and it does show that Mike Brown is undermining Marvin. It even looks like Marvin is irritated at times with that sh*t. That fat ass Lippincott needs a punch in his fu*kin face. Don't stand in the hallway like that and pick the guy out!! No class!! Go to his room, one-on-one. Treat the guys with some dignity you fat punk. Like I said, I like the show.

I love watching this series every year! The only thing that could reveal more dysfunctional football management would be to watch the Raiders coaching staff deny on CNN that nothing happened in regards to their headcoach. Mike Brown is clearly running his program on the cheap. After seeing the first episode it was obvious even to a dummy like me what the problem is with these perennial losers and it's not the coaching staff. What the fat ass Lippincott said to Runnels was classless and that all starts with the owner undermining his coach. Runnels was let go not because of his abilities but because his looks offended Mike Brown! What gutlessness!

Mike Brown and his daughter Katie are not qualified to run a hot dog stand let along a NFL Franchise.

I hope the show does more to explore the Bengals absolute futility under this sad man.

Well, Mike Brown isn't Paul Brown; that;s for sure. What the Bungels have needed ever since PB died is a dynamic GM. Mike is running the team like a second generation owner of any business does-on the cheap while protecting the family assets.
Until the people of Cincinnati quit filling the stands every Sunday, you get what you get.
With that said, it would be nice to see great players like Carson Palmer and Ocho Cinco see some success and recognition this year. I hope the Bengals at least make the playoffs.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE - FROM A DIE-HARD CINCINNATIAN/ BENGALS FAN...

CONTINUE TO EXPOSE MIKE BROWN AND HIS FAMILY LIKE THEY WERE IN THE 1ST EPISODE!! WE'VE SUSPECTED IT FOR YEARS...AND PEOPLE NEED TO SEE THAT MIKE BROWN DOES INDEED ATTEMPT TO RUN THIS BENGALS TEAM.

His staff meeting in the 1st Hard Knocks episode was one of the most pitiful looking meetings I've ever seen. I pity the entire Bengals staff - coaches, trainers, players, etc.

He's an owner. Not a coach. Not a GM. An owner. He should be smart enough to realize that it isn't his place to run the team.

The sad REALITY is that by continuing to expose Mike Brown for what he truly does behind the scenes, we're only digging ourselves into a bigger hole. Assume Marvin Lewis leaves after this season - what coach, in their right mind, would take the head coaching position in Cincinnati when they know that they will have NO authority.

It's a catch 22...but in the end, I suppose I'd say that you should keep exposing Mike Brown as much as possible. What an absolutely ridiculous little man.

Good show tonight. Barring injuries, the Bengals will be the surprise team of the NFL this year.
