George; Prez Obama also shows that "we have A Bill Of Permissions". We have no bill of rights. We the country of "big Brother" will cover up domestic spying programs and allow them to continue. At least we have the permission of "Free Speach". -- promote the best News outside the US Franchise.

I first heard him in the 1970's with a tape of FM and AM. He was very funny because he was willing to talk about anything but as a child I laughed at the dirty words. As the decades went by I saw deeper into his insights and realized that he was a great genious. He will be missed as the inventor of the lifestyle we call "Politically Incorrect". Virtually every comic working today owes his living to the genious of George. George will be missed likie no other comedian. -- Gavin

George Carlin's Audio CD of "It's Bad For Ya" is already out, is anyone else planning on getting the DVD of it? I've already saved it on my Netflix list.

I will always remember "George's" opinion of and description of GOLF. It seems to fit so completely. George had no pretentiousness. He was honest in his opinions and he tried to give us all something other than ourselves to think about. He will be remembered for many generations.

Dear George, I practically grew up on your humor (scary huh?). Imagine an eight-year-old rolling on the floor laughing hysterically to the "back in town" album. Mom never worried about the language, she knew I would hear it eventually, on the streets if not from her. I fell in love with your twisted style very early because it was humor with thought and meaning. There was a point to your jokes that I could relate to. Plus, you always reminded me of my Grandfather (sorry, I had to say it). He was a very honest and outspoken man who had a kinda warped sense of humor too, and that made you guys very much alike. I loved my Grandfather a lot and that resemblance brought me comfort when I heard you speak. Listening to your albums with friends and family have given me some of my fondest memories. We would listen and we would all laugh because we could all relate. Your ability to pick out and focus on those little every day things that we all just pass by as in significant was amazing. You really could warp any situation into a joke with your crazy humor and incredible attention to detail. I also really appreciated your "counter social" and political humor. I could always really relate to your opinions on humanities self-instigated demise. Your observations on the countless ironies and contradictions in our society and government always mesmerized me. You truly are a genius and a scholar. We will truly, and deeply miss you George. Rest in peace brother, we love you! ~ Dave

Though George Carlin would goof on those making a fuss about the dead, it is worth being the joke by making a fuss about him. In this confusing time, he exposed the absurdity of what's going on, and was way more than an hour and a half ahead of his time. He was objective, while showing that everyone and everything can be joked about. With love, I will always be thankful for George helping me see through the bullshit, and finding the humor in stuff. George Carlin will always be remembered. We're all very sad at his passing, and as we read off his funny bits that make us laugh until we cry, we end up crying, over our own mortality, at the state of our beloved country, and the personal losses we've all experienced. It takes genius to do that. We will always love George for the contribution he made in making sense of this crazy world. RIP George. We love you.

Richard Pryor and George Carlin was the Mark Twains of my generation. They observed we, Americans, and used humor to remarks that are social and political. Carlin, I will always remembered you as a man that was not afraid to say, you belong on the "list" as a threat to the earth and mankind. You was a great steward of this earth. -- "People only see what they are prepared to see." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

George Carlin has been a favorite of ours since we first saw him so many years ago in his button-down garb. In the meantime he has become like a member of our family. The (now) grown-up kids can quote him verbatim. And often do. He speaks for all Americans who seek the truth. We're tough enough to handle it, & will do whatever we can to maintain it. We thank him, & we'll miss him. He's one in a million.

I saw George perform live in March at Foxwoods. We had 3rd row seats and I could tell he was looking much older than a year ago. He was more hunched over than I remembered. But nevertheless, he performed flawlessly, constantly having me almost out of my seat laughing. He is by far one of the greatest, funniest, and smartest comedians of our generation and will be impossible to replace. I also feel that he was one of the few voices of reason in todays society of constant censorship.

In reply to dowwilson on 6/26/08 George did not live a miserable life!!! He laughed at it! He helped peole deal with it! He let people know that what they were thinking......other people were thinking. He couldn't change facts of life, so he made fun of them. That was a great contribution to many of us. I feel badly for you, that you never appreciated him. And you need to laugh at life a little more, you sound miserable. Lighten up! Too much in this world does suck! -- Edited by skyebelle at 06/27/2008 10:31 PM PDT

I saw him live for the first time in 1977 at City Center in NYC. He made me feel better. All the time. He let me know I wasn't the only one seeing the world as I do. I'm a recovering Catholic. LOL..... Sounds silly, I know, but I am truly going to miss him. I'm just glad he didn't have to suffer some long illness. Although, he did say he never wanted the plug pulled......Morphine (every 10 mins), plenty of plugs, and Heraldo Rivera on TV............he would have been happy. George, I'm gonna miss you!!!! Along with millions of others............Farewell. -- Edited by skyebelle at 06/27/2008 9:47 PM PDT
