Jim Norton: Monster Rain, Premieres October 13 at 10 pm ET/PT

Shockingly funny comic/writer Jim Norton, who most recently co-starred in the HBO comedy series Lucky Louie, takes the stage in an all-new, adults-only, one-hour HBO comedy special taped in front of a live audience at the Lincoln Theatre in Washington, DC. He's crass and crude, taking on subjects too taboo for even the raunchiest stand-up comics. Norton's routine will explore such hot-topic issues as: girlfriends and toilet paper; the proliferation of TV poker shows and bad ad campaigns; celebrity obsession; and more than a few other blushworthy subjects.

I have watched this special 5 times already. Despite knowing what he is going to say next, I am still spitting out my food in hysterics. The most talented comedian that HBO has broadcast in quite some time.

Why would HBO let a scumbag like Jim Norton have his own show. What a creep!

This guy is honestly funny. His brand of humor is that of a comic genius. I personally found his special to be one of the funniest shows in recent history. If they can love you, they can hate you just as much. Jim Norton has earned his place in the legendary comic section, in my book anyway. Who ever doesn't like Jim, probably voted for Bush and can't tell their ass from a hole in the ground. Hey Jim, keep on doin' whatchu doin', you funny as hell.

Jim Norton is a genius. In addition to coming up with a solid hour of stand up for this special he is fast on his feet every day on the Opie and Anthony show. The guy is hilarious, he's so honest and willing to talk about his demons rather than point the finger at others. With this special he hit it out of the park.

The Louis CK special was also amazing and I can't wait to see what Attel does with a full hour.

Cook, Black and Williams were all not funny in the slightest bit. And I like Lewis Black, but his last special was not funny. Throw in Mike Epps as well. He stunk it up too. Unfortunately, Jim Norton was also not, I repeat, not funny. Dirty and raunchy is not comedy nowadays. There are plenty of funny comics who do use sex in the acts, but not to the disgusting for disgusting's sake and totally unbelievable like that from talentless load of shit. Current funny comedians: D.L. Hughley, funny. David Cross, funny. Chris Rock, funny, Daniel Tosh, funny. Ralph Harris (fan from way back), funny.) Dave Attell, funny. Mitch Hedberg, r.i.p., funny. Jim Gaffigan, funny. Stephen Lynch, funny. Ted Alexandro, Nick Swardson, Demetri Martin, Zach Galfianakis all funny. Jim Norton...usless.

I had never heard of Jim Norton before I saw his HBO special. I had given up on HBO stand up comedy after the flops that are Dane Cook, Lewis Black and Catt Williams. Hooray for Jim Norton! I laughed the whole hour! Nonstop! Yea its dirty and raunchy, but thats comedy for ya nowadays. Thanks HBO for introducing me to the hilarious talents of Jim Norton.

crass and crude? I guess. Shockingly funny? No f@#$in way. I don't mind comedians talking about "taboo" subjects in their routines, as long as they are funny. His problem is he is not. I'm just disappointed in HBO. Another mistake..

The state of televised comedy has gone in the toilet. This guy is not funny. How many more young idiots will get their own special? There are numerous comedians who have been around longer with much better material than the people that are given shows. I only wrote this because I forced myself to sit through this show. I remember the days of Rodney Dangerfield's Young Comedian's Special series with comedians such as Bill Hicks, Dom Irrera, Andrew Clay, Bob Saget, Rita Rudner, Bob Nelson.ETC... I am leaving out many funny people. "Cringe Humor", c'mon on. Give me a break. Let's put the board room decisions along with the Dane Cooks and Jim Nortons to rest. Give the real comedians a chance, the true funny men and woman that have paid their dues and deserve their special. Because at the end of the day, they are funnier and have much better material than any of the "cutting edge" comics that have been pegged as the next big things.

In one word, Jim Norton's special... garbage.. one more word... unfunny.. I don't even know if that is a word, but I am making it one..

disgusted..

I'd like to see the women who find him attractive, his girlfriend or those his claims to do these nasty things with. Then again, maybe I don't.

It was the worst HBO comedy special I've ever seen. Great disappointment, considering Chris Rock, George Carlin, George Lopez. No point of view, just meanness.
