With all due respect, being gay isn't a choice. You do not wake up one day and decide to be gay. That isn't how it works. You are born that way, the same as if you were born white, black, asian, purple, polka dotted, etc.

And a gay person cannot change their sexual orientation any quicker than a person can change the color of their skin. They will be gay until the day that they die.
Hiding one's sexuality is a fact of life for a great deal of the gay population. We are an ever evolving society but we do not as of yet live in one where a gay person can feel completely free to be themselves and not be afraid of persecution. If you are in the military, it is "don't ask, don't tell." If revealed, even if you are a highly decorated, highly respected, hard-working, brave American soldier, it doesn't matter to our government. If you are gay, you're out of the military. So revealing one's sexuality isn't as easy or free as you might think.

Ever hear of Matthew Shepard? He was a gay college student that was brutally attacked because of his sexual orientation and murdered. He was tortured and tied to a fence. This is only one example of hate crimes against gays in this country alone. I think the gay population knows the pain of persecution and oppression all too well.

All I'm saying is do what you do, but I don't want to see it or know about it. Just like those who want to be married. Why, you have rights for power of attorneys, and medical benefits, and adoption and everything else, but you have to just take the term Marriage, from the heterosexual who are no longer allowed to have something that just is between a man and a woman.
