finishing heaven

A very moving, sad documentary. From first moments, one could see our director would never complete the movie but we are hopeful he will. Also, a lesson for our children; potentially a great director but drugs got the better of him. Admittidly, Drugs may have fueled some of the most interesting images onscreen but eventually proved to be directors' downfall.
Imagination was what they had in common , but the difference between Spielberg and Fienberg was a clear , drug free mind and simply being able to say, " enough" and finish the project.

Wonderful news! The finished version of Heaven Wants Out by esteemed director Robert Feinberg premiered at the Rio Film Festival September 30th, 2009.

Regarding the HBO documentary, Finishing Heaven, Feinberg's wife of 20 years (Not Ruby Lynn) was overheard at the LA Film Festival in 2008, saying, "Finishing Heaven is a one-dimensional film about someone I've never met."

For anyone interested in a more comprehensive overview of Robert Feinberg's life and exceptional accomplishments that were (unbelievably) not included in this documentary, follow the thread of posts in the Speakeasy section of the WSJ. Here is one:
The Shapiros and Mark Mann entirely fabricated the story about Robert Feinberg that is depicted in Finishing Heaven. He actually is an esteemed domumentarian who has spent the last 36 years making films and photographs of Grammy winning Brazilian musicians including Caetano, Donato, Gilberto Gil and Vinicius de Moraes. He was married for 10 years to Susana de Moraes and now for 20 years to another notable woman. The Sharpiros runaway fictional account of a wonderful man?s life is shameful. They built the entire film according to their own script rather than the life lived by Robert Feinberg.
