Uh, I thought this was a 4 part miniseries. What happened to the last 2 and if there isn't anymore, why leave this unresolved? We were totally wrapped up in the storylines and moved by this account and it's just weird to leave everything unresolved. Please keep in mind I'm not being disrespectful of the people who suffered and the people who died...I just thought there was more to view... -- Edited by JaydaKiss at 12/30/2006 4:21 PM

As my wife (a Thai national) and I watched Tsunami: The Aftermath, we were overwhelmed by the experience. I haven't cried like that since I saw Schindler's List. It is impossible to watch this remarkably powerful film and not be moved. Tsunami: The Afternath should be required viewing for everyone. It is unquestionably the best film I've seen this year.

It is great to see the portrayal of the real stories of survivors. In my blog at http://phukettsunami.blogspot.com, I have the real stories that are reflected in the movie. It is good to look at the movie, made with fictional characters - but don't forget the real people that went through it! - Rick

couldn't bear to watch it as i have a little girl about the same age as in the movie..... i suppose it would be too trite to hope that she ended up surviving? during this holiday season, please consider continuing your support for the peoples affected by this disaster, and - of course - to any peoples less fortunate than ourselves.

I am so pleased at how this series was written, directed, and filmed. I lived through the experience of delivering DNA Victim Identification services since week 2 of the tsunami disaster in Thailand, and was at Wat Yan Yao until the end of Feb 2005. All of the sub-plots of what was going on at this time in Thailand was very well written and portrayed. The emotion of families searching for their missing loved ones, the foreign government workers not prepared to meet the needs of their citizens, the loving help and assistance that the Thai's gave to all, and the frustration of the local fishing villages being forced off their traditional lands. This film works on all levels and I want to thank HBO and BBC for doing such a good job. We are still helping these families, at wwww.thaitsunamihelp.org and you can help too... Dave Rockwood

Excellent account of the Tsunami disaster. I hope HBO can bring us more newsworthy events about the rest of the world. Not just USA movies and docs and series, but we're interested in global events, too. Thanks for Tsunami, the Aftermath. I can't wait to see Part II tonight.

I wanted to travel to India following the tsunami, the village my college roomate's family was from was hit. I was unable to, due to my health, but am still moved by the devestation. I cannot express enough sorrow for all who were hurt...without insurance or means to recover. I am sorry too for those hit by Katrina, but at least they have means to recover, not so these poor from the Indonesian coastal towns. Americans cannot comprehend the level of poverty these people endure daily.

I'm liking this mini. It's well acted. The actors really had me feeling their pain and sorrow. I do have one nip pick, and it's a big one, it's the website that's up for this mini. Why isn't the whole cast listed in the cast and crew section? Half the cast is ignored. There's no mention of Gina Mckee what so ever, one picture and a thumbnail, that's it. She plays an important role in this mini. I'm a huge fan of hers, put that aside now, the rest of the actors who haven't been nominated for oscars or in movies that made a lot of money at the box office should be credited too. They worked hard in this film, they should get their props. By the way, Gina McKee was in Notting Hill with Hugh Bonneville, does that count for putting your name up in the cast section? She was the second lead in the 2005 emmy winning mini series watched by over 5 million people in the states. (I know that's not a lot, but it's a lot for PBS.) The other actors not listed have some incredible work under their belts as well. I just think it's a shame.

Chiwetel Ejiofor was amazing in the first part of this series. I can't wait to see the second part. I was shocked to see that his wife in the film, actually took the little girl from the hospital! She's really gone off the deep end.
