Thanks Maggie! I had a low opinion of Jefferson even before I read David McCullough's book. David Morse was perhaps the best acting portrayal of Washington I've ever seen. I'd like to see a series on Washington! I'm looking forward to see how the series treats John Quincy Adams in the final episode.

Thank-you Tertullus! Your response is not merely correct but outstanding and astute. Jefferson who admired the French Revolution would no doubt have found the millions of dead of the Chinese Revolution just as "exciting".
