I think it's a huge misfire that Hung has introduced a character like Gemma so soon. Love the actress and have nothing against the idea of this character, but c'mon! This series is just starting and you were only beginning to establish Ray's approach to his new job. I thought it was moving in a very sweet direction with, for example, the heavy client he didn't find so attractive. He gave her simple affection and tenderness. He saw a need in her and fulfilled it. I was so delighted to see how he was going to meet the challenges of his new clients. The problem is we're now dealing mostly with Gemma, who frankly has a foul and unappealing demeanor - and now Ray's falling in love with that? Puhleeze. Boooring. Let's move back to Ray on the job and growing slowly as a man and human being. Listening to Gemma talk about fucking is a little grotesque for the beginning of such a sweet, new show imho. Later on it would have been much more interesting. (And no, I have no problem with people shagging.) On another topic I just adore the teenage son! He is too adorable and the actor does a fantastic job. Bottom line is I'm glad I decided to watch "Hung." I didn't think I'd want to see it and I'm always happy to be wrong in such cases.

I already posted this in another thread but I thought I share my thoughts here... To me Gemma shouldn't of been introduced until Ray had already left his teaching position. When he invited her to his BB game that was WAY off his character and borderline self destructive. If your a drug dealer u wouldn't have ur clients meet ur work's parking lot... if u would.. ur stupid! Gemma is SO offensive to my sense I dunno what to do with myself. When I see her on the screen I want to rip her apart. The way she looks, the way she is, her demanding self, OH God I would slit my wrist if I thought my only chance of happiness resides with person as poisonous and broken as someone such as her. I been broken up with many times but for me to do what she did to Ray and for her to be like it helped her in the end. This woman needs to be placed into a mental institution for a while.... a LONG while! This show actually found something that was wonderful but let it fade away to pursue a character that puts off most of the viewers. Too soon to fast! I am more willing to accept Ray being with Tanya or ANYONE rather than that hot mess. I am really hoping that next season they focus on the epi where the bigger woman didn't have self esteem. What he did for her was wonderful! If he actually tried to find what makes "horny Patti" happy and did it... instead of doing her then saying give me my money. I hope the writers get this straightened out!!
