I bought my John From Cincinnati Season 1 DVD today, did you?
If you're a fan of the show, you must have bought the dvd as soon as you got your newsletter email from HBO.
reply if you got it, when I got home about an hour ago, went to go get another for a friend, and guess, what - out of stock!!!

Regarding it being out of stock at stores...I went to a Best Buy and a Target on the 5th and it wasn't on the shelf at either store. I didn't ask any employees about it though. I got around to Border's on the 7th and it wasn't on the shelf either, but the in-store computer said it was "Likely In-Store." So I asked an employee to check it out and it turned out all the copies of JFC were still in the back and for whatever reason they had never put it out on the shelves.
So who knows...seems strange three different major chain stores didn't have it out on the shelves 5 and 7 days after it was released.
But, I've got it now and I love it. I haven't watched the first episode commentary, but I watched the commentary on the final episode. I liked it and it was what I expected. Did anyone really expect Milch to systematically break everything down? And you gotta love his last line of the commentary, frustrating as it may have been. I won't ruin it, but it's good stuff. And I loved the dream sequence breakdown. Thank you for that Milch, even though a lot of it was already theorized on different websites. It was still good to hear Milch's take.

Chat and I were trying to find the DVD here on HBO.com the other night and couldn't find it. When I was searching for something else JFC related on the web I found a link to it. I don't know how to search the site and find it but here it is if you are interested.
(Of course, by using the links on SaveJFC.net part of the purchase price goes to site upkeep.)

Episode 10 commentary requires that I retract my "edited content" theory. Milch's commentary for the last episode is much more vocal, he mentioned being silent at one point because it was his first time watching it like this, which I can believe.
Definitely has more of a story to tell, maybe one day...

At first I was excited that JFC DVDs out of stock at HBO, but in thinking about it I can't help but wonder if their understocking the DVD is just one more way that they are distancing themselves from the show and the demands of HBO viewers.

The television in the living room isn't the best, but I really noticed the clear sharp picture, nice sky and all. And the wind.
Having some trouble playing back on the DVD player in the laptop, ideas???

I haven't gotten to episode 10 yet, but from what I've observed about Milch, he seemed inexplicably absent in the episode 1 commentary.
"Decoding John" was awesome though!

got mine today, can't wait - I'll be pissed if they edited milch; I don't think they edited anything on DW DVDs and he wasn't particularly nice about HBO on those
