Different Versions of Finale

Hello! Much to my surprise, I saw two different versions of the season finale. I watched one on Directv in Alabama and the other on the Dish Network in Florida. John's revelations were different.

I don't remember word for word and I'm not there now to review it but On Directv John said:

Cissy gets pregnant and is as big as a house.
Barry razes the motel.
Freddy gets wasted.

On the Dish Network John said:

Cissy gets knocked up and looks like Leona Helmsley.
My father raises 4 walls around Barrys bar?
Dr. Smith comes back 20 years younger.

Would it be possible for you to compare notes on this? I wonder if it was different on cable too.

Hi! I do plan on making a dvd and a transcript of the revelations. It will be at least a month before I return to our other house though. Perhaps in the meantime, someone who gets Directv could do a transcript of the revelations and post them here.

The more I think about what happened, the madder I get. It was only by coincidence that I had Directv and the Dish Network at the same time, otherwise I would have never known there were two different versions. I feel sympathy now for those Soprano viewers who claimed they saw a different series finale. Maybe they did see something else.

I always assumed that I was watching what everyone else was viewing. I think the public needs to know about this. I plan on sending a dvd of both endings to Shephard Smith on Fox News and the Directv version to CalmadityDan. Maybe they can get the word out. I don't think that the HBO subscribers should be treated like this.

HardLanding,

If you can...try to record the DirectTV version that is different from what the rest of us got to see.

It will be a Collector's Item!

I don't doubt that you got to see two slightly different versions.
All kinds of weird stuff happens.
Sound like this was one of them.

Hi! I'm not saying that at all. Calamity Dan seems very knowledgeable and has a very nice website, however, I'm just reporting the info that I got from Directv. He's already cut me off at the knees. I would like to save the rest of my body parts lol

Thank you for your replies. I also agree with the transcript on the dish network. The problem appears to be with directv. So I called Directv and talked to a lady named MJ. She said yes, that it was possible that directv aired a different version. I was told that directv and the dish network each have their own contractual agreements with HBO for programming and that each uses a different satellite for HBO. She also said that Directv could not guarantee the same programming as the dish network. Hope this clears things up. It probably won't, lol, but I gave it a try.

This is the quote per Calamity Dan:

"Dr Smith comes back 20 years younger from Cincinnati. Cissy gets knocked up. She’s bigger than Leona Helmsley. Earth puts Dickstein on retainer. Daphne keeps his head straight. Jerri meets a slew of new hairlips. My father four-walls Barry’s bar. Dr Smith trains Dwayne and Ramon. My father freelances in Cass’s Camera."

I remember the 'big as a house' line. I recorded it.
I have Direct TV. I'll have to see when I watch it
again.

Very interesting. Thanks for the information uncle. I hope everything is going well for you on the Journeyman set.

I saw an entirely different ending.

Mitch, Cissy, and Shaun are sitting in this diner. Mitch orders onion rings and looks through the jukebox........oh never mind.

When we were filming the show, David said that the season would end with John saying "the end is here", being that his first words were "The end is near." But when filmed, that line was never said, and it ended with Linc's speach, and not John's, or Kai surfing.
The shot of Doc 20 years younger was from a different episode where he bought the medical building from the young man (who happens to be the Production Designers son), as he had inhereted the building from his recently deceased parents.
Peter Jason (car salesman/ Con Stapleton of DW) was John's Father, and I had a bit part which turned into you only seeing my ass as I walked away.
When Mitch first floated and asked Cissy to turn off the fan, she yeld "can't you float over there and do it yourself?", then began jumping up and down trying to reach the pull chain for the fan.
The whole thing about 9/11/14 was a story line about the future, where a group of people were going to try to cause a genocide of the Muslims, and it was up to John to get others together to stop this from happening. These others were some of the characters in season 1. First John had to bring this disfunctional family together, then all of these people who had absolutely nothing in common with each other, and some who would have actually been enemies in the real world. This group would have grown, the zeros and ones would have fallen into place, and the genocide would have been incomplete.

When there is a crime and 5 witnesses police usually get 3 different stories. The same thing happened fro the Sopranos finale where some posters swear they saw different versions of the final scene. 0's and 1's maybe.

I'll repeat: this is impossible. All 3 sources get the same feed from the same HBO satellite at the same time.
I'm sure that plently of people have the DirecTV and cable feeds on DVR, and can confirm what is said against the transcripts.
