LOL! no i did not "know" mike bloomfield but am very familiar with his work and i think i've got just about every album he appeared on... major stuff anyway... Paul Butterfield Blues Band... and he Al Kooper made a double album and wanted to call it "Two Jews Blues" but the recored co wouldn't allow it.... Al's album called Super Sessions also features Mike... of course Bloomfield was an all-out super alcoholic drug freak who could stay awake going at full bore for 3-4 days at a time and during these sessions he ultimately collapsed (one of many!) so Al had to enlist Stephen Stills to finish the album.... and that's the name of that tune! LOL! i strongly suggest seeking out an album called "Fathers & Sons" featuring Muddy Waters, Otis Spann, Al Kooper, Mike Bloomfield, Buddy Miles, it contains both studio and live cuts... they do a live rendition of Long Distance Call that will definitely get your mojo working! naturally my favorite Muddy tune is I'm Ready with one of the greatest lines in the history of songwriting: I'm drinking TNT, I'm smoking dynamite I hope some screwball start a fight! ....yeah like that!

Do you know Mike Bloomfield, Captain? Why am I even asking, you know everyone. I am actually a novice to the blues, just now developing better understanding, with some help from a friend. The one recording where his guitar's gone wild. Long Hard Journey

wow sven you never cease to amaze! yeah roy is one of my faves too.... one of his best lines which i employ often.. "i'm not broke honey, just badly bent" i kinda liken Roy to JJ Cale two of the most famous unknown singer/song writers of all time... here's a song of JJ's you might recognize as performed by God..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYS732zyYfU
