I know you ladies like to remember Patrick in Ghost and Dirty Dancing... but for a macho blusterer like myself I'll remember Patrick more for Roadhouse, Point Break and Red Dawn.... and yes, I have every one of those in my macho blustering DVD collection... Well all I can say is to the bouncers somewhere in the after life..... "Be nice!"

Back, I am sooo sorry for your loss. This is just horrible. Growing up just a mile from the ocean and still living here I have known people who have had such tragedy and I empathize with your pain. Best wishes and hopeful thoughts to all.

One of my very best friends died last night, electrocuted working around his dock when he cut an 220v electrical cable hidden in the water. If you are a prayer, please share his wife and 3 young children in yours. One of the most ridiculously nice and generous people I have ever met...

Andy Hallet died at 33 yo on March 29, 2009 of heart disease caused by a tooth infection a couple years prior. I was surprised by my reaction to this news, at how much this effected me. One of my best friends from growing up is more than a bit of a knucklehead when it comes to doctor's visits. He has been the picture of health, a big weight lifter and bike rider, the envy of our circle of friends. 3 months ago he started feeling weak and did nothing about it. He finally went to the hospital last week when his motor skills were deteriorating and he was experiencing bloating. It turns out that he had a rare bacterial infection all this time and it damaged his heart. The picture of health at 44, he now has a 33% chance that he will need a heart transplant in the future and is scheduled this week to have stents and a pacemaker installed. He has had medical coverage this whole time...he just thought that he was invincible. To all my JFC friends out there, please don't ignore health problems...life is already too short.

John "Marmaduke" Dawson, 64, stomach cancer; I know alot of you youngsters are saying, Who? but he was a member of the New Riders of the Purple Sage and co-wrote "A Friend of the Devil" with Jerry Garcia; yep, Rock and Roll Heaven has got one Hell of a Band! ...and yet another Who? Gordon Waller, heart attack, of the 60s duo Peter and Gordon who's 1964 smash hit "A World Without Love" was written by McCartney who at the time was dating Peter's sister Jane Asher who at the time was one of the "It" girls.... yeah yeah yeah! -- Edited by captpeace at 08/20/2009 2:06 AM PDT

I never watched Buffy The Vampire Slayer series on TV. And it was just over a year ago that I caught a rerun of Angel (the Buffy spin-off) that TNT which plays every day at 6am and 7am. The first episode I saw was in the middle of season 3 and I started watching it about in the middle of the episode, "Sleep Tight", so I had NO IDEA what the story was about or what was going on, but the scene was with the character "Lorne" (official name: Krevlornswath of the Deathwa Clan) a green, red-horned demon dressed in a bright colored, over the top, business suite. It became obvious that there was a lot to this character I didn't understand and as the screens progressed, there there was a lot to this show. I couldn't stop watching... Since then I've had my DVR set to record the show and have watched the entire series though maybe 6 times now. It's just become a thing with me. I really love the arch of the characters, especially Wesley and Fred. But Lorne... You just have to love him. He's kind and caring and knows who he is, and the writers gave him such great lines! His character's job was The Host of a kareoke bar and he got to sing a lot on the show. A couple of weeks ago, I was talking to Cissy/Cindy on the phone and we were looking at the IMDB.com and one thing lead to another and I went to see if Andy Hallet, who plays Lorne, had put out an album yet... Andy Hallet died at 33 yo on March 29, 2009 of heart disease caused by a tooth infection a couple years prior. I was surprised by my reaction to this news, at how much this effected me. So, here is my late but heartfelt "RIP Andy Hallett". The first time Lorne is introduced in the show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glLWdVlWsUM Andy as himself at a benefit concert: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrPEgUH_Y0I
