Hello Our Dear Friends- (Monadista's, MBFAM & MSFAM!)
Trishah (SaveJFC) and I (ChatAngel) think it's time that we officially reach out to David Milch to show him our continued support of his work. We feel that a kind gesture is in the spirit of JOHN will help him find a way to continue the story.
And so I have a SaveJFC 2008 calendar (better late than never) that Trishah & and I split the purchase price to send him and I am also going to send a printed copy of the Comprehensive Survey Results-Trishah created, and we all participated in couple months ago. This Survey contains some amazing detailed data from fans all OVER the WORLD!! This should supply Milch with an excellent resource for demographics, and audience preferences. Also contains a multitude of information. However, nothing that is identifiable to anyone person.
We also thought that this would be a great opportunity for other Monadistas to add a personal note for Mr. Milch to the package. We want to mail the package before July 4th-5th. (This allows everyone at least one week advance notice.) Please compose your note or letter in a doc or pdf format and attach it to an email addressed to: chatangel@hotmail.com (Place MILCH NOTE in subject line)... I will print them out as is; SO make sure you spell check! Feel free to be creative! Let me know if you want to add a cd or other media (copies of the ads, music video, docu-video, youtube video, personal video message, etc.) to the package so we can coordinate getting them here in time.
If you'd like to post messages here on this thread. That's fine I'll copy and paste them.. into a word doc. Spell checking is your responsibility. If your choose a video message contact me for my address ASAP!
Also IF you plan on participating please let me ChatAngel/Tammy) know in advance. I receive over 300 emails on any given day..and I scan through them, delete...
Therefore: We'd all be very upset if I were to miss someone's important message, because I didn't recognize their email address, or it were to bounce into a spam folder. I'll use my eagle beagle eyes for the next week or so...

I realize they're very difficult to write.. I'm still working on my own.. believe next draft is coming straight from my heart.. and not going to worry about it!

Got it today, thanks.. I'm going to erase, the little notes or messages that were written to me on the all ones that came as direct emails.
I have a folder in my email account with all the messages inside. DVD arrived YESTERDAY! Our SaveJFC is one fast gal! She mailed it on Sat from Jersey.. I got it on Monday in BFE Western KY! WOW...
Cissy, I have about 30 drafts of my own to sort through!
Plus creating my "vision board!" (Law of Attraction -visual aid- affirmations)

Tammy, Thanks, I hope we can put it off till the 5th. I got a birthday, my firstborn, on the second, doctor tomorrow, still need that right space! I do internal checks, like checking your oil every few hours or so.... guess I feel intimidated writing to the writer... but there is so much I want him to know, to understand, what an amazing thing he has wrought, how he made us all family.. so many things, and it can't be too long, and it can't be sappy.

The dvd of "Get Back in the Game" is on it's way to me! I believe I have an original creation from "FF" here somewhere.. I'm working on locating it! LOL
Also.. I still have the original score sent via email too!

Well, like I said on the other thread, Milch is an artist. And while a singer/songwriter may cringe to hear a novice play one of his songs, he can't help but be flattered. (IMHO)
Hopefully we'll hear what others think.

Waxon, you are probably right...
I do have a huge desire to send the threads to Miclh and indeed the cast (I would love BVH to read some of my words out loud)
I love the idea of a scrap book... anything (including the further threads) that shows how much the show affected us, and the love for the characters is awesome; I guess I was just worried about stuff being out of context.
I'd definitely be up for putting something together (this was kind of Sven's idea too)
I agree that Milch would probably be flattered, but never having met the man, I can't predict!!!

While Mr. Milch may have no interest whatsoever in reading the "Further Episodes", I do not think he would see them as cheapening his creation. I think he would be pleased that his work would inspire ordinary people (non-writers) to express themselves creativley by adding to his story. Its really a pretty unique thing.
Remember during the strike he gave free lectures and allowed them to be recorded and put out on the web for all. But, also, remember, that his "real" work, or at least where his heart and soul rested was with Deadwood. JFC was afterthought (?), according to his accounts. I believe his words were something like, "a continuation of the story".
But for each of us, it seems that JFC came closer to home for us - perhaps because its plot was not in the past but in the present and future. With respect to his story, its one thing to examine how and why things happened, but quite another to look to the present and future asking "what if"...
All of that being said, what does the group think about the idea of a scrap book - of these threads. It might be titled something like, "We will not forget what you have done, here."
But the letters and comments could be the first part. Followed by a selection of posts from the Birdseed campaign (a DVD would have to accompany that).
The further episodes could be a part along with the many other things that have transpired here.
I think he would find it quite amusing and flattering. And for a writer, I would guess the best form of motivation is flattery.
I will almost guarantee you that underneath his gruff exterior is a sentamental soul. I think that came through loud and clear in his work and his lectures.
Now, its not like he is going to sit down and read it all at once, but he may glance through it from time to time. Who knows, he might even be touched.
Anyway, just a thought.

Hey everybody,
I'm just throwing this out there as an opinion, please feel free to shoot me down.
I LOVE the idea of sending personal notes to Milch, I'm just not so sure about the calendar etc. Note, I've seen the calendar, and love it, i'd just hate to think that our feelings for JFC collapse to anything.
Walk and I talked a while back about the extra episode threads, and both of us were squeamish about Milch ever seeing them for risk that he might see them as a cheapening of his creation.
I've written to Milch on a couple of occasions, so won't be adding to this one, but I thought I'd just put that out there.
Milch knows we wanted to save the show, I agree that he'd love to hear how his series affected to us. I think as many personal notes as possible on their own might be the best thing... (of course I could happily consider T/F song as a personal note  )
As I say, not my call; just my 2c.

Angel and Save- Do you think maybe the cut-off date for letters should be moved to the middle of the week after the fourth? With the holiday weekend coming, many of us are very rushed right now.I want to think about what I write, know I cannot do that right now, and I am wondering if others feel the same
