It's kinda quiet here, I thought I might spice it up some with a good protest song. Hey, the kids are diggin' it, takes me back to my punk days 3 decades ago. Has it been that long? Know Your Enemy - Green Day

I'd like to share this too http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/series/charlie-skeltons-bilderberg-files start from the bottom, there are 5 articles. This is a freelance journalist for the Guardian who was sent to the Bilderberg meeting in Greece, ostensibly to make fun of the "conspiracy theorists" covering it. However, as you'll note after being arrested twice for doing nothing, and tailed by the police from then on, his coverage is very interesting as someone struggling with the fact that his perception of reality is not what it was. For those not in the know, the "Bilderberg" meeting is held annually, and includes the most powerful from around the world; they meet behind closed doors (allegedly) to plan what happens next. Their very existence has been denied; the US media has not covered it even slightly. Yet there are square miles of Greece blocked off for world leaders, people with machine guns, helicopters and detention just for getting near - surely not newsworthy. Last years was in Chantilly VA... guess what; it was the weekend that Obama disappeared (sending all his reporters across the country on his campaign plane without him) allegedly to meet with Clinton, though the media never did "figure out" where they went. Note that many of our government attend, and it is a felony to do so; namely meeting in private with non US interests to discuss issues affecting the country (without explicit presidential or congressional authority)

I hadn't even read that far down, being so disturbed at the top, but: "Just as there are soccer moms, there are Explorers dads, who attend the competitions, man the hamburger grill and donate their land for the simulated marijuana field raids." God bless the ridiculous caricature of reality bestowed upon us by the power-hungry, rights-trampling control-freak fuck-heads in charge and the corporate media. -- Edited by backinthegame at 05/15/2009 11:52 PM PDT

> Why pick the U.S.? > > There's more opportunity in the U.S. and not as rigid > a class barrier. Interesting to combine both class and opportunity in your reply since they are so highly linked to each other. And are the class barriers in the US really less than the Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, Canada, New Zealand and Denmark? I want to be clear about what we are talking about before replying... What do you refer to when you say "opportunity". -- Work here, Cass.

> The time is now. Do our elected representatives have > the vision and balls? Screw the tea baggers, we need > to start our own "grass" roots movement. Maybe call > ourselves dime baggers? Yeah, I think the "tea party" movement was intended to be a protest against the government for the corporations not for the people. Sadly the fox news crowd managed to warp it into an anti-democrat right wing fiasco. Legalize marijuana and tax it ... that is at least a legal tax (if you don't want to pay the tax, avoid the product) Completely unrelated, I was listening to the radio the other day, and I heard someone discussing the separation of church and state in a way I hadn't considered before. At the time this country was founded, the two biggest oppressors or at least "do what I say"ers were governments/royalty and the church. This was the reason the founding fathers wanted separation of church and state, they didn't want the two to get together to try and control us and the people. Today (and for full disclosure I'm not religious at all, but respect those who are) the church doesn't have the same power. If the founding fathers were around today, I fully believe they'd want a separation of corporations and state. P.S. I've been a little cranky of late, tired, stressed and so on. I'm pleased to say, with some good times and some good sleep, I'm "much improved and well"
