The decriminalization of Marijuana would bring profit if the government would allow private industry to market it the same way they market alcohol and tobacco. It would decrease the amount of money spent trying to arrest everyone who uses it and keeping it out of the country. It would reduce the amount of court costs and money spent incarcerating criminals. The Redneck Right Wing mindset that governs the conscience of this country will never let that happen though. They can smoke their fat cigars and drink their martinis and pretend that only dope smokers are addicts. LOL. -- How come we choose from just two people to run for president and over fifty for Miss America ?

Yeah, there is a thrill in the forbidden, but not when if you do get caught you end up with court cases, fines and maybe even a record. Think about it- our towns, states and country are all going broke- now we just know know that some places are going to make up shortfalls by watching citizens very closely and swooping in to get some revenue wherever it can be gotten. There's a a self perpetuating machine at work, and the legal, court, prison complex is a hungry monster. Thankfully, several states are decriminalizing or realizing that stretched law enforcement budgets need to be prioritized. I don't remember the numbers, but a few weeks ago I was reading in the Boston Globe about first time offenders who had been in possession of very small amounts of pot and were told that their records would be wiped clean after a certain amount of time. For some reason or another, only a small number actually had the arrest purged from the records, for others the stain of arrest remained in their public files, limiting job possibilities, etc. Bad stuff. Myles- did you read that article? Wish I could remember the details. MA seems to have support for decriminalization- what do you think? -- "Laugh or go crazy..."

There are many convincing arguments for legalizing marijuana. Now there are a few more. Bill Maher mentioned the much needed tax income that would come with regulation. Here's another reason. Mexican cartels sully U.S. Parks -- "Laugh or go crazy..."
