Has anyone followed "Damages"? It had it's 1.5 hr season finale tonight. What a powerful show. The writers of this series are simply masterful in their plotting. Only for intelligent viewers who like being challenged by a complex storyline and multidimentional characters. One of their techniques I really appreciate is that they foreshadow bits of the final episode throughout the season. So you know... or think you know... what is going to happen 6 months in the future. Then they keep adding more and more bits, or showing you a few more seconds of each bit that then changes what you first thought. Yet I never feel tricked. Then when you finally see the whole thing it is more and better then you could have possibly imagined. There is a one liner at the end that hints that there will be more to the story, however, if the show doesn't get picked up again it will be fine because the story of this season got tied up. Of course this means they have to have the whole story of the season written from the beginning because the final episode has to be shot first. And it has Glen Close and Tim Olyphant and Ted Danson. So do try to watch reruns. It's a great ride. -- Work here, Cass.

Yes. I am/was an avid LoM viewer. I agree the music was great, the premise weird but oddly engaging. I was disappointed that the series was going to end but I am so glad that they actually drew the story to a close and tied up the loose ends. It was a satisfying end. Unlike late '07. Maybe the suits learned that they can't just dump shows anymore. If JOHN helped make that happen then some good came out of all our efforts. So what do they replace LoM with? The Unusuals about an odd NYC precinct #2. I will bet it still "off-beat" but it will be more straight-forward and easy to follow. A sort of compromise between LoM and white bread. -- Work here, Cass.

Well I just went and did a little research on the subject of my previous post and apparently LoM was cancelled (I thought it was planned to run only 1 season. Is my face red?) Anyways I guess the suits at ABC are just as braindead as the ones at HBO. I did find a site about the show that has readers comments that were very similar to the ones I remember reading late in the summer of '07 at this very website. All I can say is that network TV (any network) is doomed. It seems the snuggie wearing, cheeto eating, reality TV loving masses control the airwaves. Time to renew my library card. http://tvseriesfinale.com/articles/life-on-mars-us/

So did anyone watch "Life on Mars" which just had it's series finale tonight? If you didn't catch it, and if ABC reruns it this summer, I would say it is worth it to watch the 17 episodes of the series. Even if only for the great early 70's music. It had a great cast (though Micheal Iperioli might win the William Shatner award for overacting) and story-very well done. I wish most TV dramas could do what LoM did and just be an extended miniseries that leaves you wanting more but brings the story to a planned and logical end instead of waiting for the network axe to yank the rug from under it's viewers only to leave it's fans feeling cheated, angry and betrayed . Hint, hint HBO. -- Edited by oilgatsam at 04/01/2009 9:20 PM PDT

First we had Zippy in JFC. Then there was Peter Griffin in "Family Guy" and his "bird is the word" episode. Now, pigeons are playing a huge part in "Kings". I'm declaring this first decade of the new millenium "The Decade of the Bird".

You should definitely watch "Kings", while the show is still on, its a great, ambitious show. Just check out what this professional douche bag TV critic without a clue or understanding wrote about "Kings". He even compared it to JFC. That alone should make it worth your attention, folks. http://www.buffalonews.com/entertainment/story/613593.html -- "It's about to get real uncomfortable, real fast..." Save, yes!! We have noticed that Jesse is Scott! What a break for this young man, to be showing in these shows that are some of the best TV has to offer. And to go from Scott to Jesse, we get to see just how far his talent goes. He's got a good reach I think. -- A lonesome high, a funnytime cry, the blues the blues the blues Cissyyost

And the season finale of "Big Love". Have you noticed that the actor, Aaron Paul, who plays Jesse Pinkman on "Breaking Bad" also plays "Scott" (Sarah's boyfriend) on "Big Love". -- Work here, Cass.
