Please give this one a break. Even Obama's hometown paper has investigated this one and let it go. They concede that during the time that Obama took contributions form this man, every politician in Illinois did also since he was (AT THAT TIME) a respected developer in the state. When the legal entanglements developed, Obama donated all the money received from this man to charity. Obama concedes that there was a small aspect of a real estate deal with the man that was unwise, but not illegal. He has severed all ties. One thing to look at...Why is no one mentioning that Hillary is in bed with the medical industry, having accepted TONS of money from HMOs, the AMA and other industry establishment organizations. You want experience, that is what it buys you. Obama has not accepted PAC money. That does not even take into account the money connections to China that the Clinton's continue to enjoy. The scandals will continue since Bill is deeply involved in one already under scrutiny from both 2005 and 2006. A Scandal a year...that's all we ask!! Obama has the integrity and dignity that I want back in the Oval Office.

I recommend "Sorrows of Empire" by Chalmers Johnson. It might remind whoever lives there of how far this has gone...

Did you know that Harry Anslinger, (with lobbies from cotton and timber industries), lied to outlaw Hemp and Marijuana.

Anslinger even claimed that the AMA said the drug was dangerous, it was not true.

After watching the State of the Union address on Monday, and hearing President Bush talk so much about his "Veto Pen", I want one of them. I'll attach it to a plaque and proudly display it behind my toilet.

What book do you think should be in the White House?

Dear Bill,

I was chagrined.

New Subject:
Last night Katie Couric asked the top presidential candidates what book they would ostensibly take with them to the White House. Wisely, she avoided the humiliating scramble for the position of Holiest of Holies by excluding the Bible as a choice.
And not necessary! since the Republicans have ensured that a truly Christian administration currently resides there and has doubtless peppered every room with several copies (widely believed, however, to be the Republican version with the peaceful words of Jesus conveniently redacted to avoid awkward moments of self-realization).

Nevertheless, I was perplexed and somewhat disappointed at their answers. Not one of them mentioned my famous book. I'm not trying to spam you, but all of them said they'd bring some genius-level tome that most ppl probably can't even understand, and two even said The Federalist Papers. (Wha???)
My book can be read and understood by schoolchildren in around 8 1/2 minutes (read: ACCESSIBLE). And it is the ONLY book known throughout the world to have given solace and calm to an American president during the heat of crisis.

Click here for an excerpt where the main character does something really cute!

Far be it from me to criticize the reading choices of the candidates but it just seems to me that they'd want a book that ppl have actually heard of, for Christ's sake.

Anyway, thanks for listening.

I don't think this is so much of a question but a topic for the show. I watched a video the other day that totally explains how Jena 6 can still be an issue in this country. It shows how far we really haven't come and displays alot of whats wrong with this nation. This was filmed outside of the Louisiana Superdome on the day of the NCAA National Championship game. I would love for people to see this and make their own judgement.

I also live in south Louisiana and have to deal with these people daily. I guess we're not that far removed from the fields.

I have always respected you and your work. What I do not understand is why you and the other news reporters will not investigate about Barack Obama's connection with Antoin "Tony" Rezko of Wilmette, Illinois? Rezko has pleaded not guilty to charges of fraud, attempted extortion and money laundering, and he is scheduled to stand trial Feb. 25. Rezko had long been a fundraiser for Gov. Rod Blagojevich and for Obama. Rezko had received $3.5 million from a company in Lebanon and he has given thousands of dollars to Obama and other Illinois politicians. His bail was revoked because the judge considered him a flight risk. It was written by the Associated Press today. Why don't the news and you investigate this information.

Also why are people saying that the Clintons are the bad guys when Bill Clinton as President did a great deal to help the African American population? I am very angry that no one will investigate this connection that has been found between Obama and this man, Rezko, who is receiving $3.5 million from a company in the country of Lebanon. Why are you so afraid to bring up this issue and ask the same questions I am asking. Who in Lebanon is helping fund Barack Obama's campaign. Someone with the power needs to find out. Thank you.

News this AM

The number of foreclosures soared in 2007, with 405,000 households losing their home, according to a report released Tuesday.

Total foreclosure filings soared 97% in December alone compared with December of 2006, according to RealtyTrac, an online seller of foreclosure properties. For the year, total filings - which include default notices, auction sale notices and bank repossessions - grew 75%.

More than 1 percent of all U.S. households were in some stage of foreclosure during 2007, up from 0.58 percent the year before.
The rise nationally has confounded some community advocates. "Last December, we thought the national numbers were bad, and now they're up almost 100 percent," said John Taylor, CEO of the National Community Reinvestment Coalition. "It just shows we need a comprehensive approach to solve the problem."

I wonder where all these people are going?
It's no joke. People just like you are losing their homes....
