Bill's show featured a very lively debate on Iraq tonight among other topics. What did you think of the show? -- Edited by Host_Jim at 03/07/2008 9:00 PM

My wife is a fan of the show, so I am forced to watch it with her. Usually, I can overlook Maher's sanctimonious self-righteousness, and have seen a few shows in which he grandstands to his lapdog of an audience. This show, in particular, really pissed me off. I had sworn off listening to, or watching so-called right wing conservatives, who tend to be all the same: a bunch of old, white, hypocritical men, who have held on to power for so long in our political system through countless unproven conspiracies. Watching Scarborough basically bitch slap the panel and see Maher show his lack of cajones in not engaging his windbag of a panelist gives me even more solace in the correctness of my decision to give up my democratic party affiliation. We are truly screwed as a nation if our choice is between a party of rich, old white men, who are not only too afraid (and senile) to hand over the wheels of the country to someone more capable, but would rather drive us off a cliff, and a party composed of ivy-league trial attorney pussies, who have lived their entire lives in ivory towers waxing rhapsodic about the ideal, utopian, welfare state, where stupidity is rewarded with huge $3 million dollar settlements because your dumb ass forgot coffee is supposed to be hot. If the show continues in having bombastic conservative pricks on for shock value, at least do us, the paying membership of HBO viewers a big favor, and have Maher grow a nutsack to go after them with that sharp tongue of his.

I think viewers of the show are getting tired of the loud, obnoxious right wing assholes who you invite onto the show. They talk over people and they attempt to monopolize the conversation. Either put these fools in their place as host of the show, Bill, or stop inviting them.

Just watched the show tonight, and it was interrupted by a telephone call just when the shouting match started. Joe Scarborough is an idiot, and a rude one too. Just like when he was on before. Scahill's piece was very good and Bill scored a few good ones. Show gets a "C"

I generally can't stay awake for Real Time on Fridays, so I catch it on Sunday. Once again we hear a sanctimonious conservative interrupting not the men, but the woman, and this week, because the woman wouldn't cow tow to the rude interruptions like so many other women guests do, it ended up in a shouting match. She and other women could avoid that, and why they don't is beyond me, by saying firmly, exuse me, I was talking... The guy in the middle, how appropriate for the self-righteous middle to end up in the middle. His acting offended by the shouting is obviously due to his cluelesslessness over the tactics some men use to get women to shut up.

I dont think Bills stance is going to change anytime soon. He used to go after Hillary haters, and had said many a time that "there is absolutely nothing hateable about Hillary Clinton." The way he has been allowing his panel to constantly attack her leads me to believe that something has changed in Bills mind, and he no longer wishes to defend her, for whatever reason

Couldn't agree more with Bardedic. Big thumbs down! Bill needs to get his head out of Obama's bottom. This show is sounding more and more like an Obama commercial. -- Edited by kauffma at 03/08/2008 11:32 PM

I never liked the correspondent mix. I watched RT carefully and noticed Mr. Maher has been passive, but someone else is always there to strike it back. RT continues to cover broad range of topics, including the war (something Rove doesn't want you to think about), Russia, SA, etc. A lot more sensitive and politically correct approach to talk about the war, plus more passive Mr. Maher, and use of indirect counter pointers or correspondents can only lead to a few guesses. I'm only guessing. Don't tase me, bro. -- Edited by infoseek at 03/08/2008 11:10 PM

Was Bill slumming for conservatives this week? Something about Joe Scarborough is so thoroughly irritating. And all that crap about the only people losing their homes in predatory lending scams are losers anyway? Hi. I live in the real world...it's called OHIO...where we vote for presidents. oh.. and I have a home on the verge of foreclosure. I lived in it for 12 years and would have lived in it for twelve more, except for the fact that my husband died without life insurance. (no one thinks they'll die at 45, heart attacks are like that). With my income cut in half, and my adjustable rate loan adjusting out of my budget, I have had to put it on the market and seek something more affordable. (it's a long sad story, but I digress)(omg do not fill this strand with refinance spam) It's bad enough we have to listen to republican pundits on Fox spout this crap and pretend that rebates are going to are going to jump start the economy. Yikes. After I pay my federal taxes and get my rebate back I'll be about 26 dollars ahead. Is that enough to buy a pizza in CA? I was thinking of mailing it to Bill, maybe he can use it to start a slush fund to find republicans that think and speak without engaging their 'enormous' egos. Or maybe he can invest in one of those buttons, if the obnoxious loud mouthed guest goes over the time limit, he can eject him from his seat. It's a little Letterman, but it could prove entertaining. I consdered sending it back to the GOP, they can use it to start looking for republican nominee that can answer a direct question. er, um John Mclain thinks that the most people who know about the economy think we may be headed into a recession so maybe it is possible that we might be? (who writes these answers for him...maybe they should go back on strike) If I send it to Obama, he can spend it on etiquette lessons for his staffers...have them write one hundred times, I will not have a cat fight with my boss's opponent.. OR maybe, just maybe, I should go to HillaryClinton.com and send her my rebate. I'm sure she'll put it to good use. Yes she will...

Overall I like the show;especially Scahill. I wish Joe Scarborough wouldn't have dominated so much.
