President Karzai said he was pleased with the American military review of strategy, which focused on militant activity in the area. President Obama is planning on sending 4,000 troops to train Afghan security forces. Do you think this is wise? Is it a preliminary to declaring war? Or is it just what it is, a training mission? Is this a plan to the best way to reach bin Laden, as he is known to be hiding in the Afghan mountainous region?

Solong knows what he doesn't know? That's pretty heavy, philosophically. Pretty cool. Perhaps he meant to say that he does not know everything. I reckon DaN would say the same thing about himself. But it is a gas to see those folks who treat our elected officials as though they are omnipotent, or smart, or honest. That's the way our mainstream media treats all government officials, as though they are some sort of superior being.

Hey Dan, O Boy said "Taliban" was the enemy we need to defeat. One of them old boys isn't racial. I use it on white, brown, black and yellow regularly. -- Edited by infoseek at 12/14/2009 7:38 PM PST

ronnie: > I don't care if Bin Laden is dead or alive. Well, you and Bush Junior have something else in common. You don't care. For the record, I do care. Hopefully he is still alive and will be killed by a member of the U.S. military.

No need to apologize, DaN. I am a big fan of irreverence. I know what I don't know. That's the difference between you and me. You believe you know everything there is to know.

solong2, I really have to apologize for my previous post. That was a totally dismissive and irreverant response, quite similar to the passive/aggresive responses I've SO been deriding the spineless coward "democrat" shavetails for making. That said, I see your sarcasm and raise. How is it that you and yours, "enlightened walkers in the light of the Generals, the Congress, and (music please), THE PRESIDENT," should get it SO wrong and SO completely for so long? Walking in the dark? You got that right. Me only? You better look around my friend. The fucking light's about to kill you. DaN inserted end quotes -- Edited by DaNihilist at 12/14/2009 6:39 PM PST

Solong Maybe I'm misreading, but I detect some measure of sarcasm in your post. Somehow I get the impression that you ACTUALLY think that the President, the Generals and the Congress are advancing the country's best interests in Aghanistan or Iraq. I hope I'm wrong in reading your post. Our interests over there are empire and nothing more.
