We have a lot of discussions about whether this show or that show is good or bad. What would make a perfect show for you? Who would be the panelists or guests? Personally, I like either P.J. O'Rourke or Dan Savage as the roving reporter and Susan Sarandon as the celebrity guest, and no "old" jokes about anyone. What about you? What would you like to see on your perfect show? -- Jane HBO Forums Host

Larry Wilkerson, Former Chief of Staff to Colin Powell Let him explain, "The beginning of the American "Imperial Rome" and Eisenhower's warning." And its impact on Congress, the Constitution, and who really runs our National Security. And who it ran the US into debt. Then he can explain Kellogg Root Brown's spinoff called Civilian Police International. http://www.civilianpolice.com/ Maybe Jeremy will come back and explain how this new mercanary group also affects Americans and why do they have carte blanche concerning not being liable for any war crimes? Why is our Congress and President allowing such an American group to exist? Any why are they being paid under the counter by the Iraqis and other foreign groups using American money. Hint, it's not the Prez. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lDj9rGtioQ "When war is profitable, you'll going to have more of it" Wilkerson. -- Edited by CBunny at 10/26/2009 11:56 AM PDT -- Edited by CBunny at 10/27/2009 2:42 PM PDT

sean hannity, bill o'reilly and keith olberman. between the three of them, one of their heads will explode, maybe even bill maher's as well. Bill really needs to have an entire show dedicated to discussion of the Federal Reserve, as this is the true root of many of our economic and social problems. Richard Belzer touched on it last week, then it dissolved into a new topic once he mentioned the kennedy assassination. a good combo to thoughtfully and intelligently discuss this matter would Congressman Ron Paul, G. Edward Griffin (author of "The Creature From Jeckyll Island... A second Look at the federal reserve") and John Perkins, author of "Confessions of an Economic Hitman" and "The Secret History of the American Empire". if a show like this could actually materialize, it would open EVERYONE'S eyes as to the absolute theivery and enslavement of the working class population around the world. things like: - how the banking system is run as a 'fractional reserve' system, meaning that banks loan out more than they have, but require us to pay them for money they didnt even have in the first place. - The fed is a private bank! The government BORROWS from them at interest, then they create the money out of thin air. And, the only way to pay it back is by taking out more loans. since its inception in 1913, the Fed has managed to de-value the dollar to roughly $0.04 of the original 1913 dollars - our federal income tax goes entirely to the Fed to pay off the interest of their loans, not for government programs. who knows. maybe an episode like this won't be entertaining, but it will be something new and it will raise several questions that people will want answered sooner than later. we all know Bill is an atheist. we all know bill generally dislikes republicans and stupid, fat people. we all know bill wants to legalize marijuana. and his audience (along with myself)pretty much agrees with all of this, but a real, monumental issue will come to the surface with an episode like this .

Don't you wish if only our politicians sound half as close to this episode? Why not? This is a comedy? The world is too dangerous? Just yet another liberal production? In the end, all politicians twist what's talked about in this show to achieve agendas unknown to the public. This episode is the collage of the best commentaries at this time. IMO, this episode brought on some very interesting facts that could have been blown into rib tickling shocks and surprises, but the efforts had been used on down play certain...hx patterns. A great show provocative and entertaining to anyone, anywhere and anytime.

Rujo I would not call myself a big fan of Garofalo, but I think she's OK and usually funny but with a serious streak in her. I agreed with most of what she said on Friday night, including her point about Hollywood that you mention. And I agree with her on the nuclear weapon psychobabble that we are inundated with by the media. I mean Pakistan has it, and they are muslim, so what's the big fucking deal? The Israelis have them, and don't even participate in any of the international agreements. WTF??? The simple truth is that our media and federal government are completely in the pocket of the Israeli government. The lineup for this Friday's show looks pretty good. -- Edited by Jetfuel2 at 10/07/2009 6:41 AM PDT

What would make a perfect show? Having Joe Bageant on the panel. His book titled "Dear Hunting with Jesus", is not only hysterically funny and filled with all kinds of truth about our society, it's a real eye opener. I'd love to see Joe on Bills show! They are, both of them, two of my favorite people when it comes to telling the "hard to swallow truths".

Does anyone actually take Janeane Garfalo seriously? Are those on the left actually proud to have her be a spokesperson for their side? She complains that "Hollywood" is characterized as walking in lockstep when the Roman Palanski (sp?) subject is brought up, yet she has made her entire career on making the exact same criticism toward the right, and more recently against anyone who criticizes The Chosen One. She believes that anyone right of center thinks as one. She actually criticizes the US for wanting to keep nukes out of the hands of Iran, saying that we have no right to decide who gets them and who doesn't. Is she fucking serious? Does she think that Iran possessing nukes is the same as France, or Britain, or even Israel? She's a fucking joke. Actually, that would be the first time in her "comedy" career that she was actually funny.

Please no more. I hear this nearly every week. I want the truth. The Mayans also predicted stars that was unknown at the time. So with every legend there is a grain of truth. My grandmother was part Mayan. She told me that NYC would be destroyed. So far, the Islamic extremists are in the process of making her prophesy come true. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Three times, it a vendetta. Her prophesy has me convinced that the human spirit may know something that the human mind denies. But as a scientist, I want a specialist to confirm or deny their theory. And about the corn. Corn is the main staple of Mayan life. We have acres of it growing and I prefer a tortilla to the wafer from Jesus. Remember he said this bread is my body. What is the difference in the statement?

How about Colin Powell as a panelist. He can give a conservative view without pissing everyone off. Not crazy about PJ O'Rourke - talks to much. the last time you had Phil Donnohue on he didn't get much talk time - bring him back and give him some additional time. Loved and Love Rachel Maddow - she would be great anytime. Love Matt Taibbi, Jeremy Skahill, Ariana H. etc. Brian Williams would be an interesting panelist as well. For Pols - how about Barbara Boxer? Gloria Waters is good, but maybe over exposed. How about my Rep Diane Watson (WLA CA)? And for a big name - How about Robert Redford talking about his initiatives in Utah and protecting our planet. Al Gore?? Just a few thoughts.

CBunny Good to see you. Maybe it could help you to be less anxious about the Maya 2012 prophesy to review this wiki page that tells of their other beliefs like human beings being made from maize by the earth god.

My parents, (who are not geologists,) claim the reason for the sudden increase in earthquakes and tsunamis in the Pacific is because of melting polar caps, and the water from it shifting the plates on the West Coast and Asia. They also claim, as Native Americans, that this is our wake up call that the planet will shift dramatically. As the Mayan folklore predicted. In order words, all Hell is going to break loose next year until 2012. I am getting paranoid. They want me in an area that is not sea level or below. So, can we get a noted geologist or specialist about the earth's plates to debunk or prove my parent's theory. Is the water from the polar caps placing too much weight on the plates of the earth, and causing these disasters? Every day something is changing along the Pacific Ocean and Asia.

I'm a very big fan of Bill and this show as well and I never post to message boards. Last night's show compelled me to write and say the show was just awful. I've enjoyed Jay-Z's music over the years too, but 30 minutes of an interview is just not entertaining in the least. And as others have said, with everything else in the news this week, we're talking about the east coast/west coast rap wars of the 90s? I'm hoping that Bill and the powers that be on the show return to the strengths that make the show great...the monologue, a brief interview (I prefer no more than 1) a great panel, and NEW RULES! If you want to add more of something, don't make it interviews..make it NEW RULES! Still a fan and loving the show, but last night stunk.

I agree. Nothing really against JZ as I'm not familiar with or interested in his music, but he was boring. So much so that I switched to CBS to watch football. Bill Moyers was good.

I'm a big fan of this show. Last night's show was a perfect example of what does NOT make a perfect show. Is Bill trying to be Charlie Rose? If you want to have Jay Z on the show put him on the panel and everyone could see that he has very little of interest to contribute. This was the worst show Bill has ever had. I agree, where is Andrew Sullivan? I like to see articulate conservatives against articulate liberals discussing current affairs. I don't even mind when there are only liberals. Bill Moyers was ok but I would rather see him as part of a panel. Last night's format was awful and I hope we never see one of these "special" shows again. Ted Kennedy died, we are in a healthcare debate, we are in a deadend war, Michael Moore has a new movie, etc. Who gives a damn about another rich hip hop star with nothing to say? Who cares if the east coast rappers are shooting the west coast rappers? Not me. At least find one who have something interesting to say. I know that John Legend is not a hip hop star but he sure is interesting to watch spar with right wingers. Don't pick you guests based on their incomes, pick guests, like P.J. O'Rourke, Rachel Maddow, Matt Taibbi, etc., who have something to say and say it well. Hell, I'd rather see Ann Coulter than Jay Z, at least she is infuriating. Jay Z was just BORING! Please spare us rich famous boring people.

I really liked Rachel Maddow and Joe Queenan I could listen to them forever.. The scary part about the Federal Reserve, and they talked about it last season is that the Federal Reserve is a PRIVATE bank. > Last night was a perfect show. > > Bill's conversations with Michael Ware (I've seen > guys like him in the movies, in books, and on soaps, > but didn't know they existed in real life) was an > example of cutting-edge journalism - you just don't > get unprocessed commentary like that on ordinary TV. > > > The discussion about how the mideast situation begins > in Pakistan and ends with Israel, how India is a huge > player, and how it is interrelated was profound. > > All of the panel was excellent.
