Hello Bill Maher fans - As you all know, due to the WGA strike there are no New Rules on Real Time with Bill Maher. However, with the primaries in full swing and Bush in the Middle East we recognize the need for them! So - we're creating this thread hoping that you'll tell us YOUR new rules! If we get enough usable submissions, we'll put together a feature on HBO.com.

New Rule: There has to be a serious debate show on weekly prime time national television. Talk show host, pundits, politicians all debating each other on national television once a week over the real topics of today. Having America call in the vote. Rachel vs. Ann, Beck vs. Maher, Hanity vs. Franken, Rush vs.Olbermann

New Rule: When you screw three quarters of the country out of: their retirement, careers, health, homes, and fuel, don't expect to get reelected.

You shouldn't be allowed to publish your memoirs when they really should just be an episode of Jerry Springer.

Healthcare NOW! organizers just had a 10 day rally in DC. Coverage from the MSM? Zip. Coverage of arrests at the Aetna sit-in? Zip. http://www.healthcare-now.org/

New Rule: Sarah Palin has to financially back the CW fantasy show Supernatural. Not only do they regularly cast for characters like an angel or a demon, but when they flashed five years into the future, she was president. It was because it was the Apocalypse, but any publicity is good publicity, right?

I would love to rule out lobbyist contributions to Congressmen. Our laws should not have to be purchased, but we'll never prevent this. It doesn't matter how we reword the bill. There's more where the last contributions came from. All we can do is take note of the Congressmen that accepted contributions to vote against the public option and vote them out.

New Rule: As long as we don't have public campaign funding and nothing else! Our Legislative and Executive Branch is not going to be for the public society. Yes I said society. The good ole U. S. of A. The public has to force our branches of government not to accept money for campaigning for office, and sell out to special campaign contributors. Perhaps, they may not dithering about in suits, pretending to help society. And when did being our society, turned into socialism? Only in the minds of those who are selfish. And why are the MSM catering to selfish people, who are lying to aid their own selfish means? All of it makes me sick. No wonder our society and economy is suffering. We love to indulge selfishness. In others, and ourselves.

NEW RULE: If you're pro-Health Care Reform and you're sitting around complaing in blogs, message boards, etc. about how pu$$y whipped our elected Democrats are, and then wonder why they aren't listening, then YOU are the one who needs reforming. Seriously. It's time for us who are Pro-Reform to get like the teabaggers and start storming the castle. When are we going to see protest marches from the left advocating Health Care reform. If the right-wing nutbags can tear themselves away from FOX News long enough to fire up their Rascal scooters and march on DC, we can certainly do far better. I propose we organize our own march on DC and show them the 75% of the country that doesn't have Limbaugh talking points fed directly into our brains. I'll get the ball rolling and pick an arbitrary date, November 21. No reason for the date, no symbolism, and it's only significance is that its just before Thanksgiving. True, we don't have any corporate sponsors or politicans secretly backing us. But we have numbers, and I believe they are greater than the ones we've seen on TV. If you agree, and are ready to show them how loud WE can be, leave me a message on my blog at http://jawillie.blog.com. Keep in mind that this is TRULY a ground up thing, and this is just an idea from one person, me. I have no money (other than my paycheck), no backing, and no clue how to pull something like this off. But if a couple of us are willing to pool some resources and spread the word, I'll bet we can put together something that will make FOX News look like Sesame Street. WE ARE THE CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN. -- Edited by jawillie at 10/01/2009 5:41 PM PDT

New Rule: Different century, same attitude. Things never change. They just mellow with age; Today, I was at the Dollar Tree, ( for retail therapy during our recession.) Hey, Macy's did not give me a stimulus check this year, or any year! The customer in front of me, at the check line has a Black bird. (Me): "Hey, that's a bird." (Cust): "Yep. A Black Bird." (Me): "OOOOh! That's creepy!" (Cust): "Anything Black is." (Cust): Turns around and discovers I have dark skin. "Hey. I didn't mean it like that! (Me): Yeah! You did! Different century, same shit. Hint, Hint. Mr. President. They put you in whiteface because blackface is tooo obvious.

If you're Client Number 8, don't bring Client Number 9 on Real Time. Even if you aren't a married man or the once highly respected Governor of the great State of New York. Come-on.... Bill Spitzer is a Sociopath...... hey but I bet you guys had fun after the show, wooooo hooooo

A-FUCKING-MEN! I guess I must add that I think THAT might be reason to break some glass as well. That CERTAINLY wouldn't stand up here where I live. Got a local one to add though, numb nuts who pause, then reverse to BACK INTO a parking space (not simply limited to parking garages, and INDEED, seemingly peculiar to owners of high-end European automobiles). My favorite tactic; pull up tight on their rear bumber and stare them down HARD as they look through their rear view mirror waiting for you to back up. Priceless! DaN
