Hello Bill Maher fans -
As you all know, due to the WGA strike there are no New Rules on Real Time with Bill Maher. However, with the primaries in full swing and Bush in the Middle East we recognize the need for them! So - we're creating this thread hoping that you'll tell us YOUR new rules!
If we get enough usable submissions, we'll put together a feature on HBO.com.

That is rather amusing considering he wishes to have politicians on his show....I guess to talk about mindless puffed up elevator talk from those guests.

Yeah, I saw that clip. The core of the problem was Leno wanted to stay away from politics while Mr. Maher has a point to make.
IMO, Mr. Maher was trying to go into the current financial collapse by talking about Spitzer and what he knew and what he was doing.
Leno wanted nothing of it, rather the kind of mindless puffed up elevator talks from the next guest.

I can't do Louis C.K.'s jokes, but roughly quoting:
"Using 'the N word' instead of it's Base Word, is worse than just saying the racist remark."
Because by saying 'the N word', your audience only connects to what you're saying, by thinking: Oh, they mean the word Nigger.
So instead of just using the Base Word, you euphemize it in such a way that the AUDIENCE pieces together the implied prejudice without the speaker taking ownership of the IDEAS their trying to convey.
Say what you mean. Don't imply and spout euphemisms like it somehow softens the IDEA, or deflects your role in the words and ideas you choose to share.

New Rule
The RIGHT wang gang and their yapping pitbull has to stop making the assertion that somehow, perhaps by simple osmosis or graced presence, that Senator Obama has completely changed a self professed National terrorist into an asset for the greater Illinois public services. He is after all, only a mortal man.

Talk shows host ego's are as large as the current national debt. Know why you can't get tickets to David Letterman? Yes. It's at capacity: Two people and Letterman's EGO.
So when Maher hits Letterman before Leno? That is a battle of Will and Ego. Nobody is going to come out alive. And it is even worse when a talk show host gets on a show to plug something when he has already been on other competing talk shows.
So talk show hosts hitting talk shows? You should know better. CLONE YOURSELF. Or get that creepy guy who comes to your own show who dresses like you to appear the same day you hit your real talk show friend's talk show. So nobody feels left out.
The White House might run through Letterman? But Geritol runs through Leno. Clone Yourself.

It's all PR and comes out of the advertising budget, which they can probably write off most of it as cost of doing business. How else are they going to push their drugs.

I saw John's McCain's ass so often in the second debate, I thought I was watching a Senior Citizen E Harmony Video!
And here is a clue McCain: If you are standing in front of the camera? You are in FRONT of the camera. It's one of those new fangled things that transmits magical rays into a shiny box into my home. This is not radio! Fibber McGee and Molly is not up next!
We all know that Liberal Hollywood would like to paper cut you with their headshots and resumes...but the next time you decide you want to show your crotch and ass too close to the camera, or curl your face up like the Grinch wondering why you are not taking the next can of Who Hash? Give a call to one of them. Anyone will do. Try David Duchvony. There is an actor who can show you how to move your crotch and ass out of the camera the right way.

New Rule: No more using Disclosure values on appraisal for Americans that can stave off the extra pressures placed on us by the gas companies, to make our mortgage payments.
If 187 out of 188 people in a neighborhood are able to pay their mortgages we should have a system in place that does not make them suffer because of the one person. By allowing that 1 persons home to be compared to the houses that are prime value; with prime value being derived from credit score and mortgage stability, we set ourselves up for home market failure.

New rule if candidates want to identify so much with joe six-pack they have to move out of their 13 houses, loose job, give up their health coverage and show us how to afford health care, pay a mortgage, and drive to and from work on minimum wage that they just keep fighting to keep down
