Hello Bill Maher fans - As you all know, due to the WGA strike there are no New Rules on Real Time with Bill Maher. However, with the primaries in full swing and Bush in the Middle East we recognize the need for them! So - we're creating this thread hoping that you'll tell us YOUR new rules! If we get enough usable submissions, we'll put together a feature on HBO.com.

Yeah, pay with money we don't have just like the wars and bailouts, and the Republicans still have no shame to talk about the math behind health care reform? No. No way. They really don't want to step on this one. They have little to no room, and that's why they have to hide behind town hall outburts and death panels. I just saw an interview on PBS the Newshour program with journalist T.R. Reid (Washington Post) who wrote a book about healtchare in other industrialzed countries. He actually went to all the other countries and learned we are dead last in all statisitics and we should learn from them all that healtchare for everyone is a given right and everyone should be entitled to it, period. Once that is the premise and everyone is covered then you figure out hou to pay for it and no matter what system it works itself out in the end even though the intial transition may be difficult. It ties in with tonight's interview with Bill Moyers who said the same thing that healtchare is a moral issure. Bill, maybe you should have this journalits, TR Reid ome on the show and talk about his experience and what he learned after travelling to all the other counries from England, Swittzerland to Canada, and how embarassing it is to find that we are dead last. and how we can learn form what works in those countries. NEW RULE: Stop being embarrassing. If the Aliens from a different Solar System land and I have to show them around, how am I going to explain Rush Bimbo? How am I going to explain that the top one percent throttle millions wtih relaxed, orchestrated glee? How am I gong to explain USA-udi-Oil? What religious temper tantrums will get screamed and scripted and squealed that I am supposed to say is important to those who looked like TINY NOTHING from Space but HUGE GROUPS of them cannnot agree on the ether-shaped idea between their ears and are willing to be HORRIBLE about it. Is this REALLY what we need to be true about us???? "Hi, welcome to our planet. We are vertabrates with appendanges with which we can modify our environment and we have the capacity and the need to work together but Sports and Music are the most intricate things that we have been able to produce with a minimum level of violence but we can't be bothered to fix simple stuff or prevent preventable problems. We poo in our drinking water and then process it back out again and then buy bottled water and cry about the spending of money AND the filling of the garbage dump. Most of us do not know how we get sick or how to build a car or how to grow food or sew clothes but we are REALLY good at gossiping and being mean to each other except a tight, vetted few that are disposal at times. Many of us can't be bothered to raise our children well or at all. We, just barely learned that sex = babies." Yah, we are REALLY cool. brag brag brag." geeawd, you guys. STOP IT.

I'm watching RT now. Rham Imanual is a corporate democrat. No news there. My only problem is his boss made history and he is in the chair now. There really isn't anything new. I expected more from Bill Moyers but I digress. I think there's a reason why Mr. Maher mentioned Lyndon Johnson. What am I missing? Johnson wasn't significant, except small frictions against MIC. Hmm... Maybe I'm missing something.

Goddamn it Bill! Where can I get a clip of tonight's interview with Bill Moyer to post on FB? EVERYONE in this country needs to be paying attention to what he's saying right now, and you making that clip available would be a service... Moyer spells out this health care reform debate simply, honestly, and LOGICALLY enough for even devoted followers of Faux news to maybe be able to have a change of heart! If Obama is serious about REAL health care reform like he promised us during his election, he would be hiring Moyer, and propping him up on every cable channel just like he did when he made that "Barack Bio" film thing he was putting on pre-election. These Dems are seriously pissing me off with all their Republican-esque pandering! We want the health care we we're promised! Not some bullshit, watered down, worthless excuse for reform that they're currently pitching to us. We lost Teddy Kennedy TOO SOON!

What is wrong with the American People? We are being shafted in everyway, yet no one is out there screaming in the streets. Drug and health insurance companies are bribing the people we vote for but they only work for special interests. What happened to main street? While Wall Street got trillions, our food pantries are empty! Where is the outrage? When will we wake up and take to the streets. Winter is coming and soon it will be too cold to march! We are sinking into 3rd world status and going down with a wimper!

New Rule: Since Rush Limbaugh is so proud of himself for correctly predicting the death of Ted Kennedy, he must now do us all a favor and predict his own.

NEW RULE: The next time you hear people complain about how this is no longer a ?free country?, they will be required to explain how loudmouth racist hate-spewing bores like Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck are still on the air.

> The Old Farmer's Almanac once carried the following > humorous insight: > "If Patrick Henry thought that taxation without > representation was bad, he should See how bad it is > with representation." I don't understand how Americans, especially the Republicans, can still consider ourselves as capitalists? The illegal bailouts exposed our fascism right in front of our eyes, but everybody must deny it. Tune it out. Dismiss it like a blip on the screen. I can't believe the same group of people who caged us the burden to service bailout debts are telling us there's nothing left for health care reform, except more tax cuts to confront our current economic slump. Hey, dumb Americans, you're not capitalists and haven't been for a long time, so get smart and get something from the fascists who brought you the popular puppet representations to calm/con you out of the very basics. I can't think of a better combination than Bush/Cheney to have looked into our eyes with a straight face and denied our apparent imperialism in Iraq. Do I have problem with the necessary changes? No, but I do have problem with people's general ignorance and fear on what we've become. Competitions with former communists who are still communists require a few changes. Therefore, don't be so afraid to hear the fact we're imperialists/fascists, because if this keeps up, we'll all be better off with socialism. IMHO, it's really a lot better than fascism. --- Republicans must call themselves fascists. Democrats must shape itself into socialists. Here are a few free labels for you: (F) (S) --- Our 4th state is still stuck. This damn MSM v2.0 was successful to see their candidates and bailouts sailed through. Bailouts were sold through fears of breadline and job loss. Couldn't MSM v2.0 have tagged health care along with aforementioned fears? Duh? Chuck Todd said Obama didn't define the problem and need for health care reform~ WTF? The same problems weren't mentioned and shoved down our throat when Obama was selling the bailouts? There was one dipshit who made a lot of noises then... -- Edited by infoseek at 08/27/2009 1:18 PM PDT
