I believe the War Powers Act allows the president to use the military for 100 days without declaring war, in times of domestic emergency or 'foreign threats.' If I am not mistaken, Bush Sr. used this act to start Desert Storm and never declared war on any sovereign nation. Of course this means he also violated the act, which is in fact an impeachable offense. Also remember that the patriot act is nothing new. Many forms of this same legislation were passed throughout modern history. Some components of the patriot act are good ideas regarding our safety. Liberty versus security debate is nothing new either. But in order to be free, we must be secure. 'and in reverse'

Obama gives the best speeches I've ever heard, but he hasn't won a single debate and that's what people will pay attention to in the general election. If he's getting his feelings hurt in the primaries, just wait until the republicans get hold of him...I'm already getting nasty emails about him and they haven't even warmed up yet. Didn't he learn to debate in law school?

It's because you're foolish enough to think that Republican government cares about you.
Remember Compassionate Conservativism? What horse dung. Republican government, especially this one, just cares about its rich republican friends.
The Republicans will lavish tax dollars on private contractors in Iraq, Oil Companies in the US, tax cuts for the top 1%.
The Democrats, while they like to spend money, will spend it on the people. That's why, in a general sense, the poor Republicans voters are such morons.
Yeah, maybe the Dems will spend 2x as much to try to shovel a hot meal down a kids stomach, at least some US kids ate.
Bush will spend 4x the money on a mercenary on Iraq who may end up pushing hot led into a kids stomach in Iraq.
