I was raised in a strict Mormon household in Utah and went to church every Sunday growing up. My whole family and 99% of my neighborhood is Mormon. I did not marry a Mormon but I dated ALOT of them, even returned missionaries and I can say for a fact that in general Mormon men do not believe women should be silent. I would have actually love to see my father tell my mother that, that would not have gone over well. I can see that you have a bad opinion of the Mormon church, which is your right. I have not always had a great opinion of it myself. All I was trying to convey was that people should not judge others based on their religion and that if they are going to make comments about a religion, they should get the correct information.

This post reminded me that the whole racial issue is a bit irritating even though we should express what we think and open up dialogue. I think the fact that everyone refers to Obama as a 'black' man perpetuates the very racial tainted issues. I think it is great that we have the diversity we do in this crazy campaign but why is it that if a person has a parent of one ethic background and one of another that we learn toward the most popular ethnicity for our purposes. The Whitest of white people with a smidgeon of african blood claim to be black. Most 'white people' by that standard would be considered "Other" at best, (except for the BBelt chezwhiz for lunch bunch). Obama has a pretty good chance. Hillary seems to be sincere, but my liberal friends have made comments like "she has too much baggage" "I can't stand her voice" "yellow suits her, staying up late doesn't"...bottom line WE ARE TOO SHALLOW to embrace a good leader!

My prediction:
(9-12-08)" Today an un-named White House source is quoted as saying "There is archived proof of the former First Lady, smoking what appears to be a "white substance" with Vince Foster, the night before he committed suicide..."
Reached for comment, the chairman of the DNC stated, "Uh, I wish we knew about this earlier. yeah."

My point: Hillary, authorize the release of your Whits House records, if you really want our support!

What's the deal with the $600 rebate checks? Do they really think this is going to jump start the economy? This is suppose to help out the middle and low income families but if we go out and spend it to "jump start" the economy, doesn't the money go right back into the hands of the rich, owners of companies, stores etc....? Just another way of making the rich richer. I'm putting mine in a CD.

Brovik,
You misunderstood my message, I correctd 800 to 400. I also stated Edwards was the first to have ideas. He's my candidate, I'm on board.

Can't you see the republican news machine in acton? No mention ,or barely, of John Edwards by the media.Questions in debates are rarely possed to him. A circus created between Hilary and Baroc and that is the whole focus of the "political analysis" following the debates .If we put up a candidate that is black or female, the republicans will be back in the Whitehouse. How can everyone be so stupid. The country is not ready for either. Even women don't want a female in office because we know how emotional and bitchy women are to work with. My own son, a staunch democrate, said he will vote republican if a female or black is the democratic candidate. This was not the time to create such a complicated election. It is selfish of both of them for running and causing a division in the party. Democrates might have had a chance at the Whitehouse . How much face saving did CNN and MSNBC try to do when the polls were so wrong in New Hampshire. Apparently ,they really think they have all the influence over us and we really listen to their opinions. Hardball is the worst culprate of all. Why don't they just go back to reporting the news and when we want opinions, we will watch Bill .News is not entertainment and we need real journalists, not performing bears.

POINT 1: WHY IS IT THAT EVERYTIME THEY INTERVIEW BLACK WOMEN THEY GO TO A HAIR SALON? BLACK WOMEN ARE ALSO LAWYERS, DOCTORS, DEANS, THERAPIST. DOES ANYONE ESLE NOTICE THIS?

POINT 2: IF OBAMA WAS WHITE, HILARY WOULD HAVE BEEN VILAFIED IN THE PRESS FOR TREATED HIM THE WAY SHE DID DURING THE SC DEBATE.

POINT 3: DEMOCRATES HAVE PROVEN THEY ARE MUCH MORE RACIST THAN REPUBLICANS, IN THE WAY THEY ARE TREATING OBAMA. IF HILARY WINS THE NOMINATION, I WILL HAVE TO VOTE REPUBLIAN BECAUSE SHE HAS PROVEN SHE WILL DO ANYTHING, ANYTHING, ANYTHING TO WIN!

Hi Bill,

Why EXACTLY do you think that people hate Hillary so much? It baffles me.

Thanks.

I 2nd that question sonicbluetm!! I asked a friend who completely switched sides after the whole Clinton cigar scandal. She did not have an answer. I feel like people hold it against Hillary what her husband did. Or, could it really be that people just don't trust a strong woman?! What's your take, Mr. Maher?!
