Hi Bill:

How about some real Election 2008 discussion.

Check this out:
Italy election symbols: from garbage to impotence - Yahoo! News

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080303/od_nm/italy_elections_symbols_dc

With the apathy in America I am surprised there is not a "I don't vote" party in the US.

Do you think that after this weeks 3 separate "Endorsements" by Hillary of the experiential qualifications of John McCain to be President, this now puts her on the fast track to becoming McCain's VP Choice if she doesn't receive the Democratic nomination?

For Bill Maher, his sexist guests, his closet gay friends and the rest of the down low crowd, aka Hillary haters -
who think it's ok to be sexist:

"Woman is the Nigger of the World
John Lennon

Woman is the nigger of the world
Yes she is...think about it
Woman is the nigger of the world
Think about it...do something about it

We make her paint her face and dance
If she won?t be slave, we say that she don?t love us
If she?s real, we say she?s trying to be a man
While putting her down we pretend that she is above us

Woman is the nigger of the world...yes she is
If you don?t belive me take a look to the one you?re with
Woman is the slaves of the slaves
Ah yeah...better screem about it

We make her bear and raise our children
And then we leave her flat for being a fat old mother then
We tell her home is the only place she would be
Then we complain that she?s too unworldly to be our friend

Woman is the nigger of the world...yes she is
If you don?t belive me take a look to the one you?re with
Woman is the slaves of the slaves
Yeah (think about it)

We insult her everyday on TV
And wonder why she has no guts or confidence
When she?s young we kill her will to be free
While telling her not to be so smart we put her down for being so dumb

Woman is the nigger of the world...yes she is
If you don?t belive me take a look to the one you?re with
Woman is the slaves of the slaves
Yes she is...if you belive me, you better screem about it.

We make her paint her face and dance
We make her paint her face and dance
We make her paint her face and dance"

Does it seem that blacks are now voting with a racist attitude, like the Simpson jurors? It seems the whites are voting in a more balanced manner. It seems some black politicians, and where there is a concentration of blacks, Mr. Obama is considered a shoo-in. Why is that so? Has anyone asked what he has done for blacks in Illinois or while in the Senate? As likeable as he seems. is he just talking a good game in the Mr. Cool fashion mastering the art of playing off opponent's ideas? What has he done standing strong for a cause prior to his presidential ambition? It seems with nothing much to criticize, nothing much has been attempted.

Hey Bill--
What about talking on the air to Jay Kopelman, the former Marine in San Diego who wrote "From Baghdad, With Love: A Marine, the War, and a Dog Named Lava"?

He could offer insight on that terrible video of those sick bastards throwing that poor, terrified puppy off the cliff in Iraq.

Kopelman fought in Iraq, he's a retired lieutenant colonel in the Marines, and he rescued Lava from Fallujah and brought him back to the States.

I bet he'd have a lot to say on those sick fuckers who committed this heinous act.

CNN.com is one source that has reported that no matter what happens with Florida and Michigan, NEITHER Barak or Hillary will be able to capture the requisite 2,024 delegates required to clinch the nomination. If this is true, why should Hillary quit? Why are the press so determined to assume that she is the one who should quit? She is only behind 200 or so delegates. Neither candidate has been able to knock it out of the park or put the other one away. Wouldn't it be VERY interesting to see a convention where the nominee was actually determined AT the convention? Isn't that what the whole point of a convention was to begin with? And wouldn't that be a huge emotional and historical moment that would give the nominee a huge burst of power that no other convention could give?

I live in Georgia and there are rumors going around that Governor Sonny Perdue will be McCain's running mate. Perdue has stolen money from schools and is easing water restrictions for businesses despite being in a serious drought. Do you think McCain would choose Perdue? If so, we're screwed.

I think what scares me the most about these primaries, is that the most popular guy in high school could be running our country. I am a biased Hillary fan. At first, because she was a woman and I felt a loyality to my gender. Since I am a political junkie, I listen to all the bullshit that is being bantered about (including yours) and I listen to the no bullshit being discussed.

It turns out that Hillary really knows her shit, ask the Generals, her collegues and all that know her.

Obama on the other hand, seems to be one of these folks who love the chase, I mean running for office. Run for Illinois State Senate, United States Senate and now for President. He has been a politician for 12 years and he spends most of his time running for office. Scares me.

One more thing, on one of your previous shows, you stated that Obama should be Prez becasue he is black and that becasue of all the horrors that Africian Americans have gone though, having a black Prez would help make up for all of those past injustices. Well, as far as I am concerned,
women have always been and are being just as victimized, but that is not an argument for voting for either.

So having said all that, I'm voting for Biden.

Dear Bill & guests,

My opinion on the Presidential Candidates:

Obama:
Pros-
1. He is an excellent spokesman. He can rally young and old into the voting booths. (Could have an excellent career as a motivational speaker.)
2. He knows the issues of importance to most of the citizens (middle class).
3. Not bad to look at and the press love him.

Cons-
1. Lacks legitimate experience.
2. He has great platforms and ideas but where will the money come from?
3. He's of African-American heritage. This will turn off some voters.
3. We took a chance electing Bush; can we afford another mistake?

Hillary:
Pros-
1. She knows the inside workings of the White House and Washington politics.
2. She lives with an ex-president (2 heads are better than one).
3. She's strong, independent and knows how to fight when the going gets tough.

Cons-
1. Her judgement is questionable regarding her vote on the war.
2. She lives with an ex-president. (She should have tossed him to the curb long ago.) I would have. (another judgement issue)
3. She's a woman. Many voters, especially of the male persuasion, will hold that against her.
4. The media will not give her the attention and praise that they give Obama.

McCain:
Pro's:
1. He's a real hero. He endured many years of being held captive and lived to tell the tale.
2. He has military experience.
3. He wants to keep Bush's tax cuts.
4. He's a white male

Cons:
1. He's REPUBLICAN and Bush endorsed him. (Enough said!)
2. He has no economic background or knowledge.
3. He wants to keep Bush's unfair tax cuts and let the rich stay that way on the backs of the working middle class.
4. He's older than dirt! He will turn off many young voters. He's even older than I am!

We Must vote so take your pick. WHERE IS JOHN EDWARDS WHEN WE REALLY NEED HIM?????

Hello Bill,

I caught this on MSNBC today. Go figure. I don't know what's true or not anymore. Please help.
From NBC?s Domenico Montanaro
Per the Toronto Globe and Mail, in a story that was the lead on the paper?s front page today, that call to the Canadian embassy was actually from the Clinton campaign, not Obama?s:

Hi Bill and guests,

I am curious on the panels thoughts regarding Clinton tax return issue, which she promised to disclose per the last debate. Isn't this a simple call to the accountant?
She, after all once called it "frankly disturbing" when Rick Lazio would not disclose his while she was running for Senate in NY.

Thanks Bill!

Dear Bill,

Mine is not so much of a question, and it is also not to do with the current elections although it should be. A few weeks ago you ended the show by saying that the U.N. stated that eating meat was more of a threat to the environment than anything else. This made me reflect on when you had Ingrid Newkirk (?) on last season. While much of that is true I feel that we always skirt around what I feel the main threat is, and we do so because of political correctness and our obsession that everyone is free to do exactly as they please. The real threat to our fragile worldwide environment is that there are too many people! Now, we're in the murky waters of religion. For example, do you think the wealthy in Mexico are not practicing birth control? Sure they are. However, they aren't the ones who flock to see the Pope with their ten children! So the Pope and the Catholic church are an enormous threat in my mind. Of course you can go to many countries such as India and dissect their religions, but I just wanted to make that point, because I always feel we ignore it because we are uncomfortable when we discuss other people's religion. If the guy in the Amazon Rain Forest, for example, didn't have so many people to feed and wasn't so desperately poor (another issue we don't deal with), he wouldn't need to cut down the trees so he could feed his family. Somehow, we must start to hold religious leaders accountable for contributing to this horrible state we find ourselves in, and we should feel free to talk about it. Having huge families is simply not exceptable anymore.

Bill, do you think the Republicans voted Hillary in Texas since they secured their candidate and feel he can beat her? This could explain how Obama did well in (face to face) causus, but not the private booths.
Also, do you feel they're encouraging her to use her
suddenly "effective" negative ads to give the Dem party a bad name, and ad strength to the republicans?

Thanks, Bridget from Chicago ;)

Bill,
Great show! Now my question.

Since Oil companies have been gouging the public at the pumps and causing all products that are transported to go up in price. Since the war was really all about oil anyway, I as a Swiss/Scot being a fair minded person, feel the oil companies should 1. Pay a war tax which would pay for the war. 2. Have the pump prices frozen at a reasonable level so the public are not being gouged. 3. All future profits of these oil companies should be put into a fund available to the private sector to come up with a viable alternative fuel source so the Oil companies don't have a monopoly.

Now is there a single politician out there with the fortitude and integrity who would be willing take on and spearhead this project and get the job done in a reasonable time frame? If there is one Politician that exists and is willing and capable of getting this job done that person deserves to be next President.
