Great episode. I was offended by the overtime segment though. I couldn't believe the level of ignorance about scientific research on that panel. Perhaps the panel was unaware of the fact that space travel with humans will require water and there's no way to bring that much water with them. It's only logical to convert human waste into drinkable water in order to sustain long term space flight. I was very saddened to see this much ignorance in a House Representative but I suppose I shouldn't be surprised to see science condemned by a member of the Republican party.

It's the content, in which the word is used. Yo' nigga' = positive You nigger -negative Really, it's time for us to divide each other based on a stereotype. Not all "Gays and Lesbians" act the same way. Ditto, with the "Straight" and righteous. I guess that fudgepacker comment, was meant to hurt Savage's feelings. Not really a joke, it wasn't funny. Besides, some heterosexual men like anal sex, also. So really they are fudgepackers, also. BM may participate, also. Perhaps it's two friends that are falling out. One is throwing a verbal dart. The oddest thing is that Bill Maher website as an article where he was awarded Gay Advocate of the year. http://billmaher.com/Press/2007/The_Advocate_January_16_2007/advocate_cover.html So I really do not think he is a bigot about sexual orientation. About women's place in society, I think he is a sexist bigot. __________________________________________ Hey! I'm shocked that Bill Maher updated his website. I thought he was too cheap for that. Really? because the original meaning, and still an additional meaning, is odd, strange, etc. such as, " That's kind of a queer fellow" and not at all meaning that the fellow was homosexual. Gay meant happy, and so homosexual's who say they are gay, mean's they are happy with who they are, is the reason i think it's been adopted by the FAR majority of homosexuals. No matter what word or words are used, those who dislike you for whatever they dislike you for, will turn the word in their minds into a slur.

HORSEFEATHERS! Get a REAL Atheist on the show! I've looked through the Hubble, along the bottom of the sea and into mountains and I see that religious people live in day dreams of wishing. If you want to say that all the things of your religions are not on earth - that they are in another dimension, THEN YOU FIRST HAVE TO KNOW WHAT A "DIMENSION" IS! I cherish water more than any religious person ever cherished Jesus and I can see how much water there ISN'T in the Solar System. I cherish food beyond all your stupid, sparkley rocks called 'diamonds'. RELIGIOUS PEOPLE CAN BE SOLD FOOLISH THINGS BECAUSE THEY START FROM A FOOLISH LACK OF LOOKING THROUGH THE HUBBLE! 'God' is not in another dimension nor a bag around the universe. If 'god' is anything other than matter, then 'god' is the 'animation' of each bundle of matter that lives and dies including the stuff that makes individual stars come to life- from some sum of all life from which come the measured packages of 'life' that escape from all the separate bundles. This means that your life, without your body, could be animating a star instead of a human and looking forward to a LONG time spent in calm spinning and burning with no oxygen, with no need for 'heaven' at all and that humans ARE the most brain-bearing things around and that war is the nastiest form of birth control, all cultures are fiction, food is amazing and RELIGIOUS PEOPLE SAY STUPID THINGS like, " thou shalt not kill" while killing! From the Atheist perspective , ALL PRAYER to ANYTHING is words that disturb the precious air around this ball in space that is precious and cannot be separated out of it's precious Solar System. RELIGIOUS PEOPLE VALUE STUPID THINGS like: WAR, HATE, and a DIRTY ENVIRONMENT. Throw the bible away and we STILL need to teach non-stealing. Throw all cultures away and women and men STILL don't need to be the most slutty possible even if happily active. Throw all the religious crap out and people still tell lies eat, sleep, need to wash and need to think and humans will still restrict the killing of other humans and many other life-forms. You DON'T need religion to come up with good ideas for living in a human body. DUH!

OK... regarding why McCain did not bring up the Rev Wright? I suspect it is because that would have brought up in return the video of Sarah's religious expierence with the witchdoctor. But what the media failed to notice that I couldn't miss being as I actually grew up in one of those churches, was that Sarah was speaking in tongues on that video AND she did it without an interpreter which is suppossed to be the proof that it is actually coming from God and not some roaming trickster of a spirit. Bill I can't stand the months you are off the air .

Bill, please remember that the Constituition was constructed in such a manner that it would provide the less densely populated states some balance of equal representation on a national scale and thereby give us (its residents) some hope to have our voices to be heard on a national scale. I suggest this topic as a long-time resident living in Jackson (Hole), Wyoming: Teton County -- a county in a very RED state, PRESENTLY DICK CHENEY'S HOME TOWN, but, if you check election records, has been very BLUE in presidential voting in the past 2 presidential elections. (YES, WE VOTED AGAINST DICK'S HEAD of state position so-to-speak last time around.) This is also the most wealthy county in Wyoming -- for better or for worse. And within the state we have a long uphill battle to go. But for you to dismiss our 2 senators as a right just wipes the hopes of people like me off the map. Work WITH us please.

A comment was made on todays show that Senator McCain's campaign was clean and specifically that they did not allow the Reverand Wright footage to be used before the election. This is entirely untrue. I saw a commercial the night before the election that showed Obama's campaign signs changed from "Change we can believe in" to "Hate we can believe in" followed by footage of Senator Obama and Rev Wright and finally saying that Barrack Obama was too risky. I was particularly offended by these ads which indicated that they were put on by a GOP sponsor. I am in Oregon and suspect these were played heavily in Ohio and Pennsylvania. How is this type of advertising by McCain supporters dismissed and even lauded as unallowed by McCain when they were indeed present. Did you miss these somehow?
