Yeah, Powell had his chance to be a stand up guy, and he failed miserably as far as I'm concerned.

Well, I will say you are honest and that is worth something. I don't advocate 0 regulations on corporate America by any means. All I am saying is that the "people at the top" want to make all the money they can and care little about race and gender in that equation.

e.g. - Good jobs are often outsourced by the multinationals to India, China, Brazil etc...

If it improves the bottom line the big wheels all applaud the move regardless of their race, gender or natioanality or that of the newly hired employees. It's the $$$

I think the whole thing about Africans selling slaves is soooo imbecile

What was slavery to the Africans then... did slave traders come with powerpoint presentations and show them "the fascilities" I doubt that.

Few african prisoners of war were sold into slavery but the numbers of that was small. And what of the breeding of Slaves, stud farms in the caribbean and scientific experiements to build superior negros through breeding

What does a person born into slavery under those conditions understand. How does it change the dynamics of male and female relations that affect society today

Colin Powell?? Are you kidding? He was the spinless pitch-man for the Iraq war. If he didn't give the speech to the UN, most people wouldn't have believed anything that Bush and the boys had to say.

I really think the fair thing to do is re-vote - Clinton's name was the only name on the ticket - I think The state of florida is just jinxed when it comes to voting - they are truly voter challenged

Dear, that was "Whitewater" and that investigation was 100 percent bullshit -- a political with hunt led by a right wing Baptist independent counsel, and the Clintons were never found guilty of ANY wrongdoing.

I used to love the Clintons and even defended what he did with Monica since power can go to one's head in many ways. I even felt sorry for Hillary after being publicly humiliated and respected her very much. Then when she started gettin negative in her campaign attacks and praising John McCain as if she would prefer him to win if Obama gets chosen and not her, I didn't know what to think. Then after the NAFTA iussue where it turned out that it was the Clinton campaign who called and gave them the nod and wink (the Canadians are investigating now to see why it was attributed to the Obama campaign) and the repeated lies about Bosnia, I started doing some research into the many other scandals in the White House during the Clinton years besides Whitewater and it saddened me that I had put my trust in such individuals. I cringe to think what the Republicans will do with even a fraction of that material in a general election.

I don't really like the democratic nominee being picked by independents or republicans, but don't vote for Nader or McCain because of that. If Clinton thinks she was screwed by the Democrats, she should run as an independent and screw 'em all.

This group is very secretive and from what I have found which is very little... says things like they believe that only the rich and elite can do gods work, they believe in globalization, pro hitler, and a host of other very creepy ideals. If Hillary is a part of this why isn't it being brought to light. MSNBC did a piece on it and it has suddenly vanished from their site. The best trick the devil ever pulled off was convincing people he didn't exist. Is this what we're talking about here?

>Their abuse of slaves was mostly ineffective. The slaves >were not stupid people. They were just as intelligent and >dangerous as their owners. They were not innocent >bystanders. Go back to college and get educated.

The slaves that came to the americas were not in an equal position, these were people who had suffer the trama of the middle passage... sight of the ocean, seeing family leap of the boat to drown "sang as they went under" -O patterson

watched family die beside them, get rapped... lived for months in excrement etc. etc.

many of them were from diffrent tribes with little understanding of each other. Then to get to america with nothing! heck i cant even go down the street without my master card!

Talk about culture shock, white people... snow... social structures. needless to say the sambo and quashie personas that developed were not natural... there were responses caused by mental scaring. The development of slave mentality is what was inhereted by there children and grand children and that doesnt just wear off.

The dynamics of red and blue america hasnt worn off. tentions between england and america are still retained. You cant just dismiss this as laziness and scheming. These are the sterotypes that were perpetraited to legitimise slavery and clearly they have not worn off either.

I went to curacoa and i saw artifcats of the slave trade from the dutch west indian trading comp. untill u see things like this u cant begin to understand. even as a black person! The one thing i realised is that blacks were dehumanised to make them more marketable / profitable. And that marketing strategy is still prevelent today.

I agree. I am sick and tired of racial issues, but there exists a subculture within our nation of individuals with lower intellects who refuse to give up the past, and only see the world through prejudiced adjective-challenged class glasses.

Now that having been said, wouldn't Colin Powell make a great Secretary of Defense for Hillary Clinton, since Bill had a Republican SECDEF, and Powell was superb with Desert Storm?

Nader is going to get more votes than he got in the last election. How many is 28% of her votes?
I can't believe superdelegates don't know Obama was voted for by a lot of republicans. All those that could only think let's go vote against that bitch, and the republicans manipulated the democrats again.

And you can be sure the MLK show will be underway just on the eve of the April primaries.
