The MSM has done nothing except fawn over McCain for several weeks. Americans are NOT receiving the truth about this man. He is an extremistic on many levels--from being anti-choice, or his views on racism or being pro-war. At worst, he is being portrayed as some kind of political moderate when nothing could be further from the truth. McCain's voting record, campaign finance stats as well as personal financial wealth have yet to be brought under intense media scrutiny. The MSM is a GOP lap dog--how can we possibly have an informed public regarding presidential candidates? The same thing happened with Bush, just another "good ole boy" buddy, MODERATE kind of guy. A good ole boy who has wreaked havoc upon Americans. Is there anything that can be done to enlighten voters about McCain in spite of a right wing dominated media?

Hi Bill, other than the obviously dire racism, what it is that frightens some Americans when a loving, intelligent, educated, and grounded person takes on the harsh reality of politics like Barack Obama has done? Personally, I think it's the "loving" part that scares people! What does the panel think? Thanks for all you do!

Why aren't we talking about the "Tiger Woods statement" made by David Bellavia? If an Obama surrogate said you can keep your "Strom Thurmond" (obviously referring to McCain) and then is immediately rewarded with a hug and a smile from Obama. Wouldn't the press exploit the story for weeks? Not to mention frame by frame analysis of the hug from Bill O'Reilly and other conservative pundits.

Ageism will come into effect on election day.McCains Vice president will be as important os the presidency because it's very real he will be president.I think Obama will beat him by 30% in the general election. Bill why hasn't this president had impeachment proceedings taken against him. Clinton had it done for a lot less and devastation to our country. What are the democrats doing it is shameful what they haven't done since taking over power in Washington.Which will be a signifigant talking point in the general election next year.

I have heard that we cannot just pull out of Iraq because we are there to protect the Contractors doing business there. WHAT? Can you please explain this. -- Edited by Patricia9445 at 04/11/2008 12:34 PM PDT

I AM A REGISTERED REPUBLICAN, AND LOVE YOUR SHOW. I WAS GOING TO VOTE FOR MCCAIN, BUT I FIND MYSELF HOPING OBAMA GETS THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINATION AND I WILL VOTE FOR HIM, BECAUSE WE NEED NEW IDEAS AND SOMEONE WHO WILL FIGHT BIG BUSINESS LOBBYISTS, WHICH ARE KILLING OUR ECONOMY. Some people are beginning to doubt the democratic candidates because of the bashing. My sister said that she was for_____and then because everytime she turns around she hears something bad about the other, she says she will just probably vote for McCain. Don't Obama and Clinton realize the damage they are doing to each other. A lot of other stupid people like my sister will probably make the same stupid mistake and vote for McCain. Also there are those that are going to write in a candidate because they do not like any of the runners. They say they are trying to make a "statement", but isn't that type of vote a waste? Please bring it up and what the ramifications are. -- -- Edited by Patricia9445 at 04/11/2008 12:29 PM PDT

Bill, Why are the guys at MSNBC and their fawning female minions gaga over Obama? Even Keith O. has been nasty about Hillary to our surprise. My spouse and I are nauseated by the adoration for Obama and sexist remarks about Hillary for whom we voted because competence beats charisma in our view. We are not believers of any kind and find the belief in Obama peculiar, to say the least. Jeanne and David

Dear Mr. Maher, Your show and board(s) shared some insightful economic views. Who else dares to call it inches away from what it is with a firm description of, "pieces of shit." Thank you. infoseek

Does anyone else worry about the fact that McClain very likely has always felt that what he gave for Viet Nam was a bust because it was a war not won and all who participated did not come back a hero? It worries me that, if elected, he won't leave Iraq until it is somehow considered a victory no matter the cost to lives.

Why was an agreement reached allowing oil exploration and drilling in an area which will cause the polar bears to become extinct?Other polar mammals are dependant on the polar bear for food,so the white fox will also become extinct,etc..Why can't the environmental groups sue for purposful actions that are know to have deleterious affects on wild life? When will our pusuit of oil and political and monetary profit be stopped by our elected representatives? Search: guardian.co.uk Environment Web A mother polar bear and her cub. Photograph: Jonathan Hayward/AP The sale of licences to drill for oil and gas rights in Alaska will threaten the future of the region's polar bears, conservationists warned today. The oil and gas rights to drill in 29.4m acres in the Chukchi sea, which were made available by the US government's Minerals Management Service (MMS) yesterday, have attracted record bids of $2.66bn from the likes of Shell and ConocoPhillips The WWF says the Chukchi Sea is a critical habitat for polar bears, walrus, whales, seals, and migratory birds, and that the auctioning of the "prime" polar bear habitat will threaten the region's populations. It is also experiencing some of the most rapid loss of sea ice in the world due to climate change.
