why is the term "elitism" considered a negitve atribute in a presidental campaign. Dont we elect a president to solve the problems that we cant solve ourselves? Havent we seen over the last 7 years the disasterous results from having a president who is "just like us?"

While people are busy criticizing Barack Obama as a "liberal elite," do they really think about the cost of another four years of conservative incompetence? I know which I'd choose. Just wondering...

If Barak Obama appears frustrated during debates or by hounding fans on the streets, how will he conduct himself if faced with a major crisis situation with a foreign dictactor or threats of attacks from any form of terrorism?

Obama has said time and time again that he is making a bet on the American people. He is banking on his belief that the people of this country are sick and tired of all the "manufactured distractions" and the fact sense that American politics have been hijacked by self-interested politicians who have figured out how to manipulate the political process to get elected. IS A BET DEPENDENT ON THE COLLECTIVE INTELLIGENCE OF THE U.S. PEOPLE STILL A BET THAT CAN BE WON???

To Cornel West: In a paper authored by Martin Luther King, Jr. entitled "What Experiences of Christians Living in the Early Christian Century Led to the Christian Doctrines of the Divine Sonship of Jesus, the Virgin Birth, and the Bodily Resurrection" he argued against the promise of verisimilitude in all three titularly cited stories. Can someone deny these core doctrines of the faith and still mantle themselves in the Christian brand?

Will Rep. Barney Frank's bill introduced Wednesday to decriminalize marijuana be taken seriously or have we lost our ability to discuss drugs seriously since Reagan's moral panic of the late '80s?

I want to point out that one of your guest (female) said something totally stupid that in pakistan a fanatic or dictator will rule..actually in the last election religious parties were marginalized, so please dont have stupid guests like that who would say things that have no basis in reality

Cornel West wants to see Jesus' ascension as metaphorical 'on the wings of love', fine, but if you ask theists whether they *literally* believe in such stuff, how many have such an abstract understanding? The problem with religion is that it actively encourages people to believe stupid stuff, and not to think about it.

> Why isn't anyone paying attention to Darfur anymore? There's ample coverage of Iraq, government corruption, recession, trillions in debt, you name it right here in the US, but the people are not marching in the streets and impeachment seems to be the last thing on the minds of the Democrats. I don't think anything in Africa is going to receive fair coverage from news media corporations trying to earn advertising revenue with ratings. Hell, the voters are still considering McSame in the election while Ron Paul was ejected without ever having a chance. ps. Where is Ron Paul and what's he doing with those campaign funds? : )

Bill: Would anyone on your panel like to comment on the redistribution of wealth that is happening more rapidly now than in the past?? I ask this question because of the current monetary crisis in our financial institutions. Ralph Wisconsin
