bartman911,

Are you so annoying? Sarcastic, yes! But annoying? I bet you aren't a concervative teacher. Do you know any concervative teachers? If so, WTF are concervative teachers? Do they teach spelling?

Boohah, I don't know where you're from, but it sounds rather dismal and cheerless. And for this I'm sorry. I'm from a small town and a large family, and when I see the way my community bands together, it does in a way that would make your statements shrivel up and crawl away. Family is fine, but what really makes a family? Friends and not-so-good friends that band together to make something good, great even. I have seen people who have everything they need, give to those who do not, and I have seen those who have almost nothing to give, still give their time and their energy. There is this great idea, "for the common good", that is very prevalent in this country and is right outside our door if we just look. This is not a family value...it is a human value. And right there where we can see it. This is what my family and community take pride in. In each other and in ourselves.

What I'm concerned about is that we elected another pussy. I don't care about skin color, I care about policy. And democrats don't really have the balls to stand behind anything of substance. As soon as there's a critical remark or something is seen as unpopular, they back down, rather than standing up for what's right. How many times can you backtrack on healthcare reform? And I love that everyone seems to be afraid of the word "socialism". Medicare--socialism. Public schools--socialism. Public roads--socialism. Post office--socialism. Social Security--socialism. When we begin to pay for what the people of this nation use, and most on a regular basis, don't we have socialism? What's so scary about me taking care of you and you taking care of me? Unless, like with voting, we just cancel each other out.

Yeah?

Well nobody told them that electing a barely literate steroid freak because he used to be an action movie star was very smart...

Hi Rainy!

Their long standing energy and immigrant labor management problems, the real estate gambles, wild fires, and Governator have taken their toll. I am just a spectator, but they really do have a lot of potential to do better. Taxing marijuana and tidal energy could go a long way.

The only thing interesting I read in the news this weekend was an article about how terrible the economy is in California, 8th largest economy in the world. It said half a million people left the state last year and that's expected to be a trend for a while because of the lack of jobs and also their poor education system.

It's so different from when I grew up there, Cali had one of the top education systems in the country and tuition and fees to attend the state universities was so low almost everyone could attend. I think the article I read said their schools had dropped to 47th in national ranking.

It said Swartzenegger's approval ratings are now even lower than Bush's when he left office and his were lower than any president in our history.

I guess this next week the senate and house members will be voting on their various final bills and then whichever ones pass, they will combine them into a final bill for the president to sign?

People haven't earned the protection of their country and the responsibilities of citizenship? How is this earned?

And, I don't mean control. I mean protection. IMO, health is a societal responsibility. This is not something "I" force upon others. It's an opinion, that I pursue through representative government. The opposite opinion is welcome. It's likely that one (or a compromise) will prevail.

It's a good thing our citizenship isn't comparable to a job application.

cynogology: I am not going to give you my voting record because you would not believe it any way.
You want this to be partisan because you are comfortable with that and feel powerful in making it right versus left.
I am done talking here today. You will not see my point of view because you see all in your own prism of black versus white and right versus left. We are not all into that.

Yeah, right. That's why you only listen to RW propaganda and see conspiracies all around you. Naive and paranoid is not the same thing as patriotism. Nowhere near.

That rubbish doesn't even make sense.

I feel that
> responsibility and freedom of choice should prevail
> over dependency and forcing people into a society
> that I feel is socialistic.

Since you don't know what socialism is, then what you are feeling is paranoia.

I think people should
> have the option to give to their choice of charity
> rather than than give to the government. I don't
> want the government pushing their ideals onto our
> innocent children.
> I want businesses to succeed. I don't need things

> Love ones matter to me.

??????? Who said those weren't important? You are acting like a fool now. What pisses me off more than anything is RW Jackasses who assume that liberals hate their families and love no one. Demonizing the opposition is typical Nazi tactics- congrats.

I feel they need to learn
> n to be independent because I feel there is pride and
> honor in that, rather than dependency.
