Barack Obama was elected the 44th president of the United States, as the country chose him as its first African American chief executive. Share your thoughts on this historic election.

Jester, You are always good for a laugh. Pelosi told all of supporters for government funding for abortions would make it to the final bill. So, am I supposed to believe you, or her? Abortion is wrong. If you agree with killing babies, that is your problem. Dont force your decisions and choices onto me.

They won't be funded by federal money. They will be allowed in various insurance plans. At least that's the current plan. We'll see the final form. All you guys whining about costs and allowing abortions amuse me. You do realize an unwanted birth costs fortunes? Even assuming it's a healthy child.

Did anyone else notice that Nancy Pelosi tried to slip it in that abortions would be covered under the new health care plan? The only way she got the votes needed, because over 30 Democrats were already voting against the bill, was to allow an amendment to not fund abortions. Not only that, but she was quoted as saying to the rest of the party that was in support of abortions being funded that not to worry, in the final bill that amendment would be dropped. Anyone on here still want to keep saying that abortions wont be funded under this new health care bill? Pelosi seems to be reassuring everyone else that it will be.

That is really one of the funniest things I have noticed about him. When he is around a black audience he acts and talks black, but when he is around mostly white people, he tries so hard to keep that part of him in check and act and speak as "proper" as possible. It also happens more often when he is not using a teleprompter. When he is just speaking to the people, he lets it slip in every now and then.

This was one minute into his speech. His regrets for the soldiers killed at Fort Hood didn't occur until another two minutes into the speech. This smells of "sound byte fever". Was this another Fox "News" exclusive? What did the free world express to all about giving an entertainment show attention when important information is conveyed? Please disregard them as you would the guy at the bus stop talking to himself. -- Edited by Dashiel at 11/07/2009 10:23 PM PST

Nice to see the President give a "shout out" the other day, like he's Ryan Fucking Seacrest hosting an episode of "Total Request Live" on MTV. I'm surprised he didn't express his regrets over the soldiers who were killed at Fort Hizzle fo' shizzle.

You're talking gibberish. Drop the labels or open a dictionary. Meanwhile you were back to globalizations and your persecution complex. Your point remains stop comparing Obama's actions to the past. My point remains that we should look and compare current policies to those of the past.

liberal |librəl| noun a person who favors a political philosophy of progress and reform and the protection of civil liberties syn: liberalist, progressive a person who favors an economic theory of laissez-faire and self-regulating markets adjective tolerant of change; not bound by authoritarianism, orthodoxy, or tradition showing or characterized by broad-mindedness ? a liberal newspaper syn: broad, large-minded, tolerant having political or social views favoring reform and progress not literal syn: free, loose given or giving freely ? a liberal backer of the arts syn: big, bighearted, bounteous, bountiful, freehanded, handsome, giving, openhanded conservative |kənsəːvətiv| noun a person who is reluctant to accept changes and new ideas syn: conservativist a member of a Conservative Party adjective resistant to change having social or political views favoring conservatism unimaginatively conventional syn: button-down, buttoned-down conforming to the standards and conventions of the middle class syn: bourgeois, materialistic avoiding excess ? a conservative estimate syn: cautious This is not a game. You are abusing the words. Simple version: promoting change and reform = liberal promoting proven policies and caution = conservative Therefore, comparing to past is conservative. Saying don't look at past, look at the future, is liberal. I dislike doublespeak and it is extremely difficult to hold an adult conversation where someone is making up definitions as they go.

Jester, Try and understand, you are still twisting what I said around. I NEVER once said that we should never look into the past for answer or to see what mistakes of the past were made. I have said it over and over, that you Liberals want to compare every move that the man makes to someone in the past. Enough already. Try comparing him to someone NOW, or someone who has the answers NOW, or just discuss the issues at hand, NOW. Every single issue ever brought up about Obama has been thrown back to talking about someone throughout history. Enough already. Time to keep things current since the things of TODAY, are going to make changes in our future. I have NEVER said we shouldnt look into the past, just that we shouldnt stare into the past constantly like you Liberals love to do. Its like the sun, stare into it for too long, and you go blind to everything happening around you, or right in front of your eyes.

Cyn & longball, From Espn.com: "Purdue wins at Michigan for first time since 1966". I guess they really did need that extra practice, especially the defense. I believe you'll have lots of help with Rich's packing now! Now don't break anything.
