But, the Floridians didn't have flooding on the scale that NO did. Get a clue. Don't blame the victims.

> Was the sub-par response to the Katrina flood > keeping America safe? > Maybe the democratic mayor could have used the buses, but instead he was hiding at a hotel. Maybe the democratic governor could have done something. Maybe the democrats over the last hundred years could have built the levys up. Maybe instead of democrat William Jefferson, taking the $90,000 bribe and who know's how much more, he could have been helping his state. The answer by every democrat is the federal gov't must clean up the mess. Let us not be responsible we will left the feds handle it. It is all George Bush's fault when the local gov't and state gov't fail. Who knows Louisianna better, the federal gov't or the elected officials from the state. Some times the states need to take care of themselves. There was no problems the year before when Florida got hit with four hurricanes in three weeks. Oh wait they had a real governor.

That would be such a good > way for us to get our bailout money given to those > ungrateful, rotten scoundrels back. Hopefully, more. Are you wishing to tax the trade itself? Because income received by stocks are capital gains. So, who ever the stock belongs to pays taxes. Then, the broker pays taxes on their income. I may be mistaken, but I believe that is how it goes. Actually some of the bailout money has been repaid, and with a bit of profit. We will probably never see the $80 billion to the GM and Chrysler. I believe it is easier for the financial companies to pay back bailout money, because their problem was liquidity. For the autos it is survival. If the gov't did not waste our money, maybe the answer would not always be taxes. Run an efficient gov't. But, then they can't cheat and steal. You're always railing against the corps. If the law makers did their job, then maybe the corps. could not do what they want. The corps are acting in their best interest, maybe politicians need to start acting in our best interest. But, then where would they get their cushy jobs.

Limbaugh supports him and I think Mitt has some ownership in the company that pays Limbaugh. Handy

Don't be fooled by that asshole Brooks' bullshit. He is a neocon and was up Bush's ass so far he could smell his bad breath.

I've been on a retro-Elvis Costello kick recently; when I listened to this song for the first in more than ten years, I was struck by how poetically it sums up my disappointment with Barack Obama. And so -- with regret -- I dedicate to the man I helped elect, an excerpt from Elvis Costello's Brilliant Mistake: "He thought he was the King of America, Where they pour Coca Cola just like vintage wine. Now I try hard not to be hysterical, But I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry. I wish that I could push a button And talk in the past and not the present tense; And watch this hurting feeling disappear Like it was common sense. He was a fine idea at the time -- Now he's a brilliant mistake." -- Edited by russfirestone at 07/10/2009 7:27 PM PDT -- Edited by russfirestone at 07/10/2009 7:27 PM PDT

Was the sub-par response to the Katrina flood keeping America safe? Hey...he had a very important birthday fishing trip with John McCain to attend to. Some of you just don't know how to prioritize like GB Deuce did. -- When in doubt, hit him in the head. --Coach Lawyer You've just been invited to suck it. --Steve Carell (The Office)

They also need to keep in mind that he didn't even keep us safe after that. Was the sub-par response to the Katrina flood keeping America safe? How about the current financial implosion caused by robber banks and trillion dollar military adventuring in Iraq? A eight years lack of progress on Global Warming, that just may yet be the single most dangerous issue in human history. It amazes me that while nobody really trusts the MSM anymore they can still color images with their poor reporting. Always remember Bush did not keep things safe at all after 9/11! Whenever a neo-con trots out that tired platitude, throw this right back at them!

Yeah, he kept us safe- except for that one time that he didn't- the most deadly and easily preventable attack ever. Fuck yeah, except for that one little slip, Boy George did a bang up job. Actually, I have become increasingly convinced that the warnings about the attack using passenger jetliners as guided suicide missiles were disregarded because Bushco wanted them to succeed. Big fuckin' hero all right.
