pretty,

Few things anger the great freethinker like being required to cite sources or proof. ;)

Naive is believing unsubstantiated innuendo. That would be you, free.....projecting again.

*sigh*

I know how you hate facts, free, but if you would look into the Annenberg project a bit, you would see that Annenberg had no role whatsoever in deciding who at the city level would be running anything. It was a nationwide project with a kazillion cities and school districts.

Precisely. And he didn't.

Now that you have the facts, you gonna drop this now?

hi Grammy,

This one really bothers me, too. When his supporters were yelling 'kill him' about Obama, McCain did not respond, just went on giving his inflammatory speech. I hope the Secret Service put all of those people on their million person 'terrorist watch list'. It's so incredibly irresponsible to incite mob violence.

Just because you choose to be naive...doesnt mean the rest of us do. Come on...just stop. Your logic just doesnt hold up! Why would the fund Ayers and Obama for ANY project if you are saying since he is such and uber-conservative and Republican? If he was THAT...far right as you say...he wouldnt. And if he will give a Democrat his money...he would give him his support. Money...means more to Republicans then their word.

Is that anything like the children that are being brainwashed by pro-Obama teachers? Because...those at those rallies are adults. Those children singing Obama praises and doing Obama chants...THAT...is brainwashing.

"Since history is ripe with many examples then, who is/was it being used by?"

I think it is credible to say that Bush's Administration and the Republican party breeds discontent, and profits from the fears of the citizenry - to include:

1. Use violence and terrorism rather than academic discussions.

We used the threat of violence (WMD) and domestic terrorism (9-11) to justify the Iraq Invasion, without substanitive debate.

2. Preach "Liberalism" to usurp political power.

Bush has always promised LESS government, and then delivered MORE of it.

3. Initiate class warfare.

Wall Street vs. Main Street, by both parties.

4. Politicians must be cunning and deceptive - any moral code leaves a politician vulnerable.

Anybody doubt the smear tactics used against McCain in 2000 (by Bush), and now by McCain against Obama.

5. Dismantle "existing forces of order and regulation." Reconstruct all existing institutions."

The dismantling of FEMA and other 'service' agencies (that damage only surfaced due to dire need by the citiznery), and the revamping of our Intel and Law & Order Agencies under the Dept of Homeland Security come to mind.

7. Use Mob Psychology to control the masses. "Without absolute despotism one cannot rule efficiently."

FEAR and CAPITALISM, the tools to steer the mob.

They hate us for our freedom & We're fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them over here. Also, Bush never asked for Open Compromise - he just wanted us to go shopping, while he Operated under the Patriot Act to compromise us all.

8. Advocate the use of alcoholic liquors, drugs, moral corruption and all forms of vice, used systematically by "agenteurs" to corrupt the youth.

Pot is Bad, but BEER & CIGARRETES are good?!?! Also, Credit and Debt are our latest drugs/fix.

9. Seize properties by any means to secure submission and sovereignty.

Suspension of habeus Corpus and the denial of property rights due 'drug-ties' and power granted by the Patriot Act.

10. Foment wars and control the peace conferences so that neither of the combatants gains territory placing them further in debt and therefore into our power.

Iraq & Afghanistan are our own private Wars, and there will be no escaping the debt saddled on our citizenry.

11. Choose candidates for public office who will be "servile and obedient to our commands, so they may be readily used as pawns in our game."

McCain took a little convincing before he sold out to the Far Right (he was lagging in the primaries). Palin was easy.

12. Use the Press for propaganda to control all outlets of public information, while remaining in the shadows, clear of blame.

FOX loves McBush.

13. Make the masses believe they had been the prey of criminals. Then restore order to appear as the saviors.

Tried, but couldn't deliver. We were all victims on 9-11, but Bush couldn't even catch Bin Laden.

14. Create financial panics. Use hunger to control to subjugate the masses.

Consume. Take a vacation. What, that's not working? Ummm.... give your tax dollars to my Secretary, he knows what to do! He's spent valuable time on Wall Street, and knows a thing or two about defrauding investors. Oh, but you can't hold he our the Administration accountable or review our spending in any way.

15. Infiltrate Freemasonry to take advantage of the Grand Orient Lodges to cloak the true nature of their work in philanthropy. Spread their atheistic-materialistic ideology amongst the "Goyim" (gentiles).

Kinda like the NeoCon takeover of the GOP. No Conservative in their right minds would support Bush and McCain without the GOP stamp.

17. Use systematic deception, high-sounding phrases and popular slogans. "The opposite of what has been promised can always be done afterwards... That is of no consequence."

Country First. Did I ever tell you I was a POW? Joe-six pack doesn't care about that, so I''m not going to answer that question.

18. A Reign of Terror is the most economical way to bring about speedy subjection.

We must not accept DEFEAT! Bush/McCain fear-mongering: The terrorists are waiting just on the otherside of this election, to either roll up their pray rugs and quit, or swarm our country and annihilate our entire way of life!

19. Masquerade as political, financial and economic advisers to carry out our mandates with Diplomacy and without fear of exposing "the secret power behind national and international affairs."

Anybody curious about the grotesque use of contractors, unbeholden to international law and TREMENDOUSLY over paid?

21. Use economic warfare. Rob the "Goyim" of their landed properties and industries with a combination of high taxes and unfair competition.

Remove 'Goyim' and substitute 'middle-class'. And it's not the GOV that wants your assets, it's the rich fucks in office who are redistributing them.

24. Fool, bemuse and corrupt the younger members of society by teaching them theories and principles we know to be false.

Examples: Abstinence-Only education, The Bush Doctrine, and Trickle-Down Economics

"Does that mean you don't "buy" that there are in FACT power cabals using their power to engineer social movements, fear and propaganda. When 90% of the media covers the same topics, the same way, that's all coincidence? When the Federal Reserved is sold to us as a FEDERAL AGENCY when it's clearly NOT, who's behind that?"

Never argued that. Power is tempting and consuming. I just don't 'buy' the shadowy/religous nature of this list. Bush/Cheney don't have to hide their faces. Nobody's even resisting their efforts to divide and conquer.

Dear Sarah: The Bill Ayers Well Is Still Dry
October 5th, 2008
By SHAUN MULLEN, TMV Columnist

And so in the first week of the last full month of the 2008 presidential campaign, a desperate John McCain has sent Sarah Paln back to the well to try to exploit the long-ago and passing relationship between Bill Ayers, the former Weather Underground fugitive foot soldier, and Barack Obama.
This unholy alliance is back in the news not because of new revelations. We?re still stuck where we were months ago.
That is that Obama, in his rookie run for the Illinois Senate, attended a fundraiser hosted by Ayers, and while they had some incidental contact, it was minor, fleeting and so long ago as to not really matter except where it might matter: Did Obama at any time approve of Ayers? conduct? Nope. Did Ayers mind-meld with Obama and some of his radical drivel rubbed off on him? Nope.
This has not phased Palin nor Steve Schmidt and Rick Davis, the co-chairmen of the McCain Cue Card Club, who beat the guilt-by-association drum loudly in a recent a conference call with reporters in the kickoff of the campaign?s latest sleazapalooza.
For the record (and dontcha love it when a writer says that?), I knew several of Ayers? cohorts back in the day and am a longtime friend of one whom I invited into my home when he was a fugitive. Even in the context of those crazy times, the Weathermen were a bunch of zonked-out wannabe revolutionaries who diverted attention from their occasionally worthy causes by doing a lot of really bad stuff.
Ayers himself remains shamefully remorse free for the role that he and his missus, Bernardine Dohrn, played in a 1970 Greenwich Village townhouse bomb factory blast that killed three fellow Weathermen. For what it?s worth, and it?s damned little, Ayers turned himself in to authorities in 1981 but was never arrested.
Among the frequent visitors to the dry Ayers-Obama well are two right-of-center bloggers with normally-keen intellects who should know better.
Both Rick Moran at Rightwing Nuthouse and Ed Morrissey at Hot Air have been all over the Ayers non-story like a pair of cheap suits. Then there is Republican lapdog Stanley Kurtz?s Wall Street Journal op-ed piece headlined ?Obama and Ayers Pushed Radicalism on Schools? that not only failed to deliver but never even explained what the radicalism was.
Kurtz was so determined to find dirt in the dry well where Palin is now thrashing around that he demanded and got access to the internal files of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, which Ayers helped lead and of which Obama was a board member.
But after sifting through 70 linear feet of material (that?s 70 boxes more or less the same size as a 24 bottle case of 12 ounce beers), Kurtz was unable to find anything damaging beyond this smoking gun (and I hope you?re sitting down): Ayers was one of five people who signed off on Obama joining the Challenge?s board.
Kaboom!!!
It?s easy to say that Kurtz, Moran and Morrissey are desperate to find anything remotely concerning about someone whom they seem to fear if not actively dislike, but that is giving them too much credit. It?s simply a matter of them being so far in the well for John McCain (and Sarah Palin, whom Moran waxes about in boy-crush terms) that they don?t realize nor care that they?re coming up with dust and not dirt.
