I agree, Powells reasoning for supporting Obama are very similar to men, women, white, black, etc. But even if some of Powell's decision is because Obama is black, why is this being made a point to defend. I think it's putting his decision on the defensive. So, I say for all the reasons Powell stated and kudo's to him if he wants to see a very qualified black man that he supports as POTUS. -- America + Bush = AMBUSH!!!! -- Edited by soc2008 at 10/20/2008 9:05 AM PDT

Does > this make them ------lovers. Race may not have been the deciding factor...but to say that it was not a factor at all is just juvenile and delusional. It was a factor...just as it has been for anyone voting. Even when you say it is not a factor in making your decision....it is still an issue and you confirm that by bringing up the point of people not voting due to race. You cant say there is only good and no bad. You have to have one without the other. And if you say that it wasnt a factor...by bringing it up to say it wasnt a factor...you are admitting that it was a factor. Otherwise...you would not have brought it up at all. -- I am McLovin! -- Edited by freethinker08 at 10/20/2008 9:04 AM PDT

I really like your post because it's the truth. White men and Woman vote for White and Woman 100% all of the time. But when an intelligent black man(Colin Powell) states very clearly why he's supporting Sen. Obama some whites staring screaming racist choice. Funny thing about it many whites say they are voting Obama for same reason as Collin Powell said. Does this make them ------lovers.

You don't know my reason or logic > for voting for McCain, I told you why and what works > for me not my reasoning in coming to the logical > point of voting for Obama. First of all...your reasons...were all just campaign promises. Something that no President has ever followed through on all of their campaign rheteric. But you didnt say anything about Obama...just his promises that he has said. Thats nothing personal...you are just saying that you believe in what he said. Not who he is or his past or anything...just his promises. If those are your reasons...then they are very open for others opinions. > I have read you older posts, you make no sense in any > of them so it too was a waste of my time. Wow...that is some ego now isnt it? Let me just tell you...nothing you said...scares me one little bit. Not you...or your 60 year old boy??friend. I been to the hospital before..and put people there too. I am not afraid of anyone. I...can take care of myself. 6'1"...220lbs...and am very comfortable versus black belts. Not worried one little bit. I do find it odd though...that I challenge you mentally...and you feel the need to tell me how your boyfriend could beat people up? Hummmm? Besides....I have respect for my elders and would never fight with an old person. I was actually a power lifter when I was younger...and I know I am able to hurt people...I just dont like to or want to. I would rather work things out with my mind...because just hitting someone is easy. Changing their mind on an issue by talking to them...is one of the hardest things to do. But hey...if your nerd and wimp of a son could protect himself better...he wouldnt have gotten his ass handed to him by gramps. Tell him to toughen up...and maybe someday he can work up to beating up girl scouts. -- I am McLovin!

Am I the only who thinks that the Acorn thing was perpetrated by Republican operatives? Who else would register a new voter named "Mickey Mouse"? Only some one who was trying to make it obvious that it was a bogus registration. Also all this talk about "spreading the wealth is socialism" Well what is spreading the debt?

This is just too funny, I"m still laughing/ It's just from this June.... From Fox News Blog Why Not a McCain-Powell Ticket? June 26th, 2008 9:31 PM Eastern By Juan Williams NPR Senior Correspondent/FOX News Political Contributor I?d be surprised if Powell endorses Obama. One person very close to Powell put it to me this way on Thursday: ?He and John are good friends.? But let?s take it a few steps up the ladder of political possibilities. Why not a McCain-Powell ticket? http://foxforum.blogs.foxnews.com/2008/06/26/why-not-a-mccain-powell-ticket/ -- America + Bush = AMBUSH!!!!

I would have to say that on a personal level...I am supporting McCain for several reasons. First and foremost I have seen footage of him as he was young...and sort of a rebel even as a youth and young man...and serving in the military. Not just as a POW...but also when he was jumping from a cock pit the was engulfed in flames from a deck fire on the air craft carrier he was stationed on. I have seen many of his interviews over the years...and on that moment...and the rest of his career in the military...he shows great humility. He has also shown great honor and pride when asked to leave POW camp early and he refused on the basis that first in...first out...no matter who you are. He was young and made many mistakes...but after serving in the military and coming home from the nightmare he was living...he was a MAN. He was honorable and humble...and also a hero. I have generation after generation in my family including myself that have served in the military...and looking back at his career...makes me proud for him...our military...and our country. When he came back...after going through what he had been through...his marriage fell apart. And he did not treat his wife with the respect or the love that she deserved...they would end in divorce. BUT...after all of these years...when he was asked what was the biggest mistake of his life in the first debate with Obama...after him being captured and made a POW...after all of the mistakes he has made in his life...even after the Keating 5 issue...what was his answer? He said that it was the way he had treated his first wife and the way they ended up in divorce. THAT...took guts...and a huge heart to admit in front of the world. I have also looked back at his career in Washington. He has a long record of doing the right thing...even when it came to the most embarrassing moment of his life. Another moment he says was even worse then being a POW...was the Keating 5 scandal. But again...when asked to break the law in support of the Keating scandal...he said NO. No he wouldn't help them do any of the things he was asked to do for Keating. He was also the ONLY one to testify under oath of the activities that Keating was involved in. He was only guilty of bad judgement...while 3 Democrats were busted for doing the worst actions involving Keating. NOT...McCain. He has also spent most of his career crossing the party lines to work with anyone and everyone who could help him and our country. He has worked with Democrats...Independant's...and Republicans...and he has tried to work with anyone who was looking to better our government. He has the least amount of earmarks while in office...when some of the new guys are taking a million dollars a day in office and giving it away to friends...he has tried to get rid of pork all together. And with that being one of his campaign promises...to continue getting ear marks and pork out of the system...I believe him. Because he has worked his entire career to do just that. When I hear McCain give his speeches and make his promises...I can believe him. Because just looking into his past...you can see that he has worked his entire career to do the things...that he is now promising to do. He has worked on energy and the environment...he has foreign affairs experience and has a history of being on the side of the people...and not just with his Republican party. He has been against his own party to the point where they wanted him out of the party and Democrats were welcoming him with open arms. But once again...he took the honorable road...and stuck true to his convictions. He stayed with his life long party membership...and continued to work across party lines. When I hear McCain speak...I believe him. Because his record and his past match what he is saying he will do if he is elected President. McCain's past...is honorable and commendable...and deserves respect for the things he has done on the right side of the issues and working with and across all party lines. When McCain speaks...he doesn't try to use fancy words to cover up his true intentions. He speaks the language of the common man...and gives you a straight answer. You may not always agree with what he has to say...but he will still tell you what he means in terms you can clearly understand. I am a Democrat who would have rather have voted for Hillary who I still would vote for and support if she were in the race...but she is no longer in this election. Out of the remaining candidates...I like McCain because he has fought for this country his entire life...in the military...and in Washington. He has fought for the American people. And for those reasons...I can...and will support John McCain for President. -- I am McLovin!

No free, you don't get to have an opinion on my reasons for voting for Obama, if you did that would mean you want a dictatorship also...no wonder you are voting for McCain. You don't know my reason or logic for voting for McCain, I told you why and what works for me not my reasoning in coming to the logical point of voting for Obama. I have read you older posts, you make no sense in any of them so it too was a waste of my time. By the way, you don't know how old I am, you just think you do. Yes my age makes me a senior citizen. My age has nothing to do with who I am. I am a 5'4" woman of 105 lbs, train with weights everyday, play golf everyday and get mistaken for my 34 year old daughters sister daily. I wear a size 0 and still wear a bikini and my last boyfriend was 42, my new boyfriend could kick your ass and he's a senior citizen too, he's a black belt in karate and he kick boxes twice a week, his last opponent was my son in law and we needed to take him to the hospital after the fight, he's 35, my boyfriend is 60. My max weight on bench is 150, squats is 320..say all you want...I'm comfortable in my retired skin and I'll live to be 100 at least so you see, I'm still just a kid with a lot of free time...I know that pisses you off but ... oh well....some of us have it and some of YOU don't. > > Freethinker00 I put 00 because you are a > complete > > zero. > > Wow...just full of insults huh?
