Why has the government not prosecuted CEO's of the sub-prime companies, banks, investment firms, etc., who made huge commissions and bonuses? The RICO law should be used and those responsible should be forced to pay back the $$$$ and be sentenced to jail as well. Why is Madoff still sitting in his penthouse--where's the $$$$ his clients invested?

Bill, you don't trust the government health agencies or the FDA and their policies on medication or food, so why have you not addressed the 5 Omnibus Autism Proceeding cases? Three were denied--those 3 sued for autism causation (autism can only be dx'd behaviorally, so it's the wrong premise, it appears, for a biologically-based court).
However, the other 2 were awarded--they sued for brain damage causing autistic spectrum disorder, and mitochondrial (cellular) aggravation causing autistic symptoms. So far, there has been a 40% award in these cases brought before our Federal Vaccine Injury Compensation court (does anyone who hears "vaccines are safe" find any irony in that court's existence)? Not to mention, outside of this proceeding, that same court has awarded over 13,000 individuals for vaccine damage. Something is rotten in Denmark, Bill, and we are all the more ignorant for not acknowledging it!

How would passage of State Assemblyman Tom Ammiano (D-San Francisco)'s Marijuana Control, Regulation, and Education Act (AB 390) impact San Francisco and other cities in terms of possible revenue benefits and added expenses for police (to control the projected flood of tourists) and administration personnel?
Also, are you in discussions with Amsterdam about effective policies?

Because of the larger deficits we are running in FY2009, our debt to GDP ratio ( - really how we should be measuring our indebtedness) will increase from 40.8% to 58% of GDP (see Table S-1 in the budget on www.omb.gov). Given that the Europeans have set a benchmark of 60% of GDP for a "sustainable" debt to GDP ratio, do you not think that this is still responsible fiscal policy given the state of the economy?

Can someone please explain to me why Joe the Plumber is at CPAC and why the Republicans are so taken by him? I realize that CPAC is somewhat a joke, but come on, aren't the Republicans better than that?

I would like to see President Obama give a breakdown on Foreign aid! Could we give less till our country gets on its feet? With all the media and finance wizards on the tube I have not heard much about this topic? This may pay for the national debt?

There is something very klanish about the republican party.Not in there Political views but the whole party's demeanor says"stay back nigger"I am black and I share some of the Republican Party's views but that party does not like minority groups at all.They are nodding yes with their heads for blacks to join the party all while pointing a loaded gun at them.A hot chick doesn't have to spit in my face to let me know she doesn't want to go out with me.Ignoring me works quite fine.

One time PJ O'Rourke was on the show, and Maher mentioned that Republicans like to privatize profits and socialize losses, and PJ responded "well we're not stupid". In light of all the bailouts this past year, does O'Rourke still think the Republicans are "not stupid" for having this attitude?

Can someone talk about why all of our produce now comes from countries such as Mexico, Chile, and other places that, when we go on vacation, we are told NOT to eat the produce!!!!!!

Hi Bill -
As in Michael Moore's "Sicko", why doesn't anyone suggest National Health Care for the U.S.? Too many insurance gluttons would be out of jobs? Seems like a no-brainer to me. Maybe folks who keep themselves healthy could get some kind of perk, some kind of reward.

If these conservative Republicans hate government so much why do they want to be a part of it? Also, isn't it odd that they want to dismantle the very organization they represent, but still intend to preserve their roles and their pet projects?

With Pakistan, India, maybe Israel, and possibly Iran acquiring nuclear weapons, is a nuclear war going to be inevitable, or do you think the Cold War principle of Mutually Assured Destruction will continue to deter their use?

President Obama promised us so many things. And guess what he is delivering. They are now surprise! Why do you think McCain wants to take away Obama helicopter???Do they want to give Obama a Bus or what?
