Isn't Obama's White House just as secretive as Bush's?

They need to get that ex-insurance executive that was Moyer's guest on Real Time. His name is Wendell Potter. Or just have Moyers on.

Hi Bill Please ask panal about the Prof Gates affair. I was watching the press conference and about fell off my chair !! I have supported President Obama since his nomination. But he has got to learn to watch what he say's. He is not Rev Jackson or Sharpton who can go out and make an ass of themselves at any given day. He is not President of the rainbow coalition, he is President of the U.S. He admitted he did not know the fact's of the Gate's incident. Did not know why the Cambridge Police did what they did. But he said they acted STUPIDLY. I think he acted extremely irresponsible with that response. He had a good press conference going about trying to help regular American's deal with this health care crisis we are facing. And then end it with fodder for the GOP and their talking head's Limbaugh, Beck, O'Reilly et al. HE FUCKED UP!!!! He has to watch what he say's !!!!

Couldn't the problems of political contributions be eliminated if you could only donate to "the party" instead of a specific candidate?

After watching Bill Moyers' superb programs on Single-Payer Healthcare, it is now obvious why the Washington debacle continues: the for-mega-profit insurance industry is terrified they will be put out of business.

Moyers' produced incontrovertible evidence that changing to a Single-Payer system could provide true 'universal' coverage, stop the denial of coverage, and cost no more than what we, as a nation, are paying now.

What will it take to empower the President to step out on a ledge and do the right thing?

Has anyone identified the 3% that would not be covered in the best case scenario for national health insurance? Is this uninsured base derived from the top of the economic heap -- those that can well afford it -- or is this at the cost of a few million citizens that are too poor, fall into the grey areas of ineligibility, or are ill equipped to advocate and/or lobby as a group? This should be openly identified and debated.

The Constitutional imperative at play -- relating to employment, health care, quality of life -- is laid out in the Preamble. "Promote the General Welfare" does not make distinctions between haves and have nots, of able or disabled. It lays down the basis upon which our laws and our social order are built. Where is this dicsussion?

What do you think of the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei ordering president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to dismiss the president's choice for vp, Esfandiar Rahim Mashaie who apparently said "Iran is friends with the American and Israeli people...No nation in the world is our enemy."?

My 72 year old mother has turned into a Fox News bot. She has it on 24/7. If they asked her to drink poison I think she would. What can I do besides destroy her televisions?!

Bill: I had 3 auto accidents in one year. None were my fault. I lost my job due to my health problems. My employer would not let me get COBRA (company attorney told me that I should be concerned about health insurance companies making a profit!!!) and would not send papers to my new address. I am fighting them legally about this denial and I am still in litigation in 2 of these accidents. Attorneys will not represent me here in Florida when I tell them that I would like money so that I can get the surgeries that my doctors tell me that I need. I have been told that juries do not give money for needed medical care, only for permanent disability, and that I am being unrealistic. I want the medical care so that I can get my life back and do not want to claim disability. I am unemployed and uninsured and need an accident attorney.
Why do auto insurance companies pay to fix my car "injuries" but will not pay to fix my injuries?

Once more, Bill, PLEASE get Alexandra Wentworth on as a guest. She's smart, wickedly-funny, and has a great insider connection via hubby George Stephanopoulos.

Thanks,

Bill -- What can be done about the Detroit area? So many people have left, the highways never even have a traffic jam anymore. Is Detroit the next great ghost town?

(PS - Bill please talk about Detroit. We need help, badly).

Do you think that Harry Reid and the rest of the Dems. not meeting Obama's deadline on passing health care reform makes the president look weak, and is that the right message to send to the country and even the world during a time of war?

-Thank you.
