Bill I've heard you speak out on your show about Prison Populatations swelling out of control and how they are taxing our system. These people are being kept in the system just to fullfil the filthy wishes of the private industry behind the incarceration of these people. This is not a matter of public service anymore it has become a business on many levels and is unjust to our citizens. It is also tearing holes in families and causing unnessesary grief among family members. Can you help? Even your buddy Thomas Chong was effected in some manner. Peace out.

the below is an excerpt from my main page on my social network that I wish to go live with at
http://www.my3strike.ning.com

Welcome to My3Strike
My3Strike is a social network for those affected by the three-strikes law. My3Strike's gives members the unique opportunity to put a face on those who have been incarcerated by the three-strikes law, On a personal note, I personally have been affected by the three-strikes law, It puts major hardships on mothers's, father's, brothers, sisters, and other loved ones who grieve for their family member who is incarcerated in prison. It takes it's toll on these people, as well as the prisoners themselves. How much time should a person spend in prison for petty crimes and offences that would normally be served for only a couple of years. These people are not rapist and murders, however they serve longer terms than some rapists and murders. 25 years to life is a pretty heavy toll on both prisoners and their families. Lets put a face on our loved ones by uploading 10 pictures of them, showing them in their better moments, both as they were when they were young and how they are today. Let's communicate for them and post their letters about their cause and wish for freedom here. Below is a chart of how many are incarcerated under this law. If you feel this law is unjust, support this community. I leave you with a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King. "Let Freedom Ring"

Why is Joe Queenan so angry. He sat there with his arms crossed and seemed just generally mad at everyone on the panel.
Hey Joe, not going to Harvard does not cripple you mentally. I went to Dartmouth and believe I can hold a conversation with any of the Crimson crowd. Get over it, have a Bud (any type).

Bill,
You really don't know what the Federal reserve does?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dmPchuXIXQ

Above is a link to a 5 part story about the FED. Then read "Creature from Jeckyll Island" a great book about the FED.
BTW the Englishman from Harvard had no clue about the FED or the job Bernanke has done so far. He was 100% WRONG.
The FED has been stealing OUR money for almost 100 years.
Have Ron Paul or Peter Schiff on your show to explain it to you and your audience.

I'm with you. A Congress worth its salt would throw off the shackles created by bad laws, made by owned men. I also believe a Justice Department, worth its salt, would investigate and prosecute the backroom deals that conspire to steal our treasure; a Judiciary, worth its salt, would confine its activities to the interpretation of law, resist political considerations driven by special interests, and refrain from deciding disputed elections, if they are unable to address the full weight of the evidence presented as an argument to the Court; and a Fourth Estate, worth its salt, would ferret out those who continue to be owned, expose their influences, and question any attempt to legislate public risk that insures private profit.

The Fed is a tool of the wolves at our door, with all due respect to Niall Ferguson.

Also, I am surprised that Joe Queenan can read let alone write, and it is not only because he could not make it into Harvard.

Is Michael Ware Drunk or BiPolar, I love what he has to say regardless, but want to know whether I should self-medicate or leave it to my HMO to determine what is best for me?

Outstanding show, Bill.

My question is about the Democratic version of the pending health bill is that it is expected to cover Illegal aliens. The Dems narrowly defeated a Repub amendment that would have that provision removed.
I feel that as far as illegal immigration is concerned, we haven't seen anything yet if this passes into law.

Matt Taibbi wrote the following in a Rolling Stone article this March:

"While the rest of America, and most of Congress, have been bugging out about the $700 billion bailout program called TARP, all of these newly created organisms in the Federal Reserve zoo have quietly been pumping not billions but trillions of dollars into the hands of private companies (at least $3 trillion so far in loans, with as much as $5.7 trillion more in guarantees of private investments)? No one knows who's getting that money or exactly how much of it is disappearing through these new holes in the hull of America's credit rating."

He further points out that the Accounting and Auditing Act of 1950 prevents Congress from auditing the Fed.

Now that he's pointed out these two items, don't you think you might reconsider changing the law to figure out what we're spending billions on?

Hi Bill, Thank you for the great & informative show. I 'd like to know what you think about Obama possibly bringing people from Monsanto( along with their push for GMO's) into position's in the Dept. of Agriculture.
Do you have any plans to discuss this on your show?
You have been outspoken in the past regarding issues of food & I have really appreciated your unfortunately, singular voice on this issue. We need to here more about this.
Thank you very much, MJYP.

I am a medical student that just finished his first semester. I am a former firefighter/paramedic so I have some prior knowledge of what is going on in the hospital as well.

I just got a bill for last semester, I took out 24k for tuition and bills. I spent about 2yrs preparing for the MCAT, this was after I graduated. I am at about 75k in loans just from undergrad, not to mention all the hours lost while studying a pre-med major when I could have been working. I mean we are not talking about a business major or psychology major(I minored in both because they did not require much cerebral effort,as fill in credits). I will be at about 350k in loans when I am done. Med school is no joke, stressed to the max life style.

People expect medical care for free or that doctors should just go to school for 10-12 years(reality is most applicants need a masters and/or some other education post bach with very high GPA) to get accepted to medical school. Oh, the average time to get into medical school after one applies, is 3yrs, that is if they get a high enough MCAT, gpa, donate a kidney etc. Then, there is matching for residency, another 3-7 yrs depending on specialty. In residency, working 70-100 hrs a week for the same salary as a gas station attendant. Not to mention the pressure of medical school, roughly 18-20 hr days between class and study, no time for anything. Just down time like now between semesters.

Yes, people are sue happy, I have seen doctors in hospitals, the dr. knows he/she could win the case, because the case is BS, but the time and cost of the dr's attorney would cost more, so the dr. just pays out, this happens all the time. This happens in hospitals everyday. People, need to be held responsible, if they decide to sue and they lose.

Treatment protocols are pathetic due to insurance companies. The Dr wants to give the patient the proper treatment, but the insurance company wont pay on it. I used to see this all the time in the hospital as a paramedic.

Off the top of my head, I remember as a paramedic, bringing a 20yr old male to the E.R. for chest pain. The patient was not doing any activities upon feeling the chest pain. More than likely the patient has GERD, maybe a pinched nerve under a rib, and a couple other common findings. But, the hospital out of fear of being sued, or not meeting protocol, has to run a very expensive test, for troponin levels, ck-mb, ck-mm, ast, etc to rule out an acute MI. This is throwing money down the toilet. The patient should be told by the dr. the percentage of outcomes of a 20 yr old patient actually having an AMI and if the patient wants to pay for the test than fine it should be ordered, but let the patient make that choice.

Not just the government, but AMERICANS need to be more responsible and hard working, and get off the governments nipple. People will pay for their transmission at $1000 to get fixed, or they will pay on their credit card for their fan belt to get fixed at $130, but they dont want to spend on their own health after they eat like fat pigs and sit around watching tv all day.Maybe people should try to fix their self.

I am an American born and raised, have been a roofer, firefighter, owned businesses etc. I have been to countries in great poverty, like where I met my wife. Americans are lazy and whine too much. This country has so much to offer to people, but people wont get off their butt and want every thing or free(get off the nipple).

Great show by the way. I missed your comedy show in south florida a couple months ago, wish I could have been there.

I know the health secretary in Hawaii has seen the President's birth certificate, and has stated so, several times. All I'm saying is that the administration should take the extra step to provide visual proof of certificate, perhaps on the internet & other media. This may not satisfy the hard-core birthers, but most average Americans would then make this a non-issue.
