Tea Parties -- Did They Work?

I've seen lots of articles questioning the effectiveness of the Tea Parties this week. Many say that they were more a show to demonstrate the most extreme sections of the right wing than an actual movement. Do you agree?

Were they effective? Will they bring change? Will anyone remember them in November?

It amazes me how Americans have become a nation that panics over every little thing. How did this happen?

I thought Fareed Zakaria made a huge point about more than terrorist attacks when he made the statement that Americans can learn from the way Israel reacts to threats and danger.

There ya go. For someone like me who doesn't read much news on the internet would need more time to sort it all out. ;)

I avoid obscure blogs and the like. I look for major newspapers, well known news sites, articles from well-respected magazines like Time or Newsweek...that kinda thing. It depends on what I'm looking for, really. I wouldn't look for the same kinds of sources for poll results as I would for a news story, for example. You just gotta know what you're looking at.

Why would the government want to scare us?

A quick story about sneezing.
I was in the market yesterday and one women started sneezing without covering her face. I held my breath and scooted away.

What really got me was they had someone making sushi in the deli dept. and the bitch, turned away when she sneezed but didn't cover her face.

Now that I think of it. I think I will be a bitch and report her.

well without defining terms the flu is the flu. any flu left untreated can be extremely harmful. but as bill pointed out more than 13k people die of flu each year in the states.

take your standard precautions and don't let warm weather fool you into thinking flu isn't around. tell your kids to not share drinks or food. wash or sanitize hands often and be considerate of others if you cough or sneeze.

by taking simple steps, we can save a bundle of time, energy and money.

No. If you put the right criteria into Google, most of them do. I just click on a couple of the most credible sites, do a quick read, and voila.

Why do you have to read all of the links? That would take forever, lol. I agree, no one has time for that.

Less than a minute to get there. How about the time to read it all?

5 minutes was an exaggeration. It usually takes less than a minute. Don't pretend people can't find the time.
