Since republicans never contribute anything to your show but pre-rehearsed "talking points", why invite them on as guests? Sure, one of them might mispeak, but they would just trot out a spokesminion the next day to deny that they meant what they said. They certainly feel no need to have "balance" on their own, tame broadcasts. Even if it created "balance", they would never acknowledge it, and giving them yet another forum in which to muddy the waters simply renders the middle of your program unwatchable each week. Please, if you must, just read one of their reactionary claims off a card and then have your rational, honest guests discuss it. The topics you cover are too important to let republicans hijack them again and again.

How important are corn farmers?

Wasn't corn something that was grown to feed people?

Then there was enough to feed animals...

Then we kept growing it and had to find new ways to use corn (because we couldn't figure out how to stop growing it)

High fructose corn syrup - (don't we love being a fat nation?)

Now ethanol - a carbon based fuel - certainly it may be better than using fossil fuels - but it isn't the best ethanol and aren't we trying to reduce our reliance on carbon based fuels?

Why can't we just tell the corn farmers to stop growing corn?

Bill,

I don't understand why John Kerry and the rest of the democrats didn't bring up the fact that George W. Bush was insulting the troops at the dinner where he was making fun of not finding weapons of mass destruction...looking under the podium and making a mockery of the troops. What do you think of this?

Welfare for women and children only takes up a small sliver of the pie. Why does no one talk about cutting corporate welfare which is where over 65% of our tax dollars go?

Do you think that it is a hoot that college professors are giving students extra credit if they bring an "I voted" sticker to class? I am a 50 year-old military retiree and veteran who is attending college in Maryland using the GI Bill.

Hello,

Here is a question for Bill and the panel. Who do you feel has the best chance at the presidency in 2008?

The ost of clean burning Coal Fire plants is $150-$220 a ton of CO2. How convienent that we move from one non-renewable enegry souce to another? Especially since it costs so much, I wonder who is going to invest in that technology.... Why can't we just put our money into renewable energy? Al Gore laid out proven plans that work to improve our country, increase jobs and revenue, all while saving the environment... what are the reasons that our country can't follow those?

Hey Bill,

Where is the outrage over the news that our President has agreed to abandon an American soldier to Iraqi death squads in an effort to help appease the Iraqi PM, who himself is being pressured to do so by al-Sadr?

I always here the right side fall back on " well at least we havn't been attacked since 9/11". What about the anthrax attacks on the hill that killed 5 people about a year after 9/11 that still havn't been solved? Why dosn't that count as terrorism? Everyone I ask just scratches there heads and changes the subject. Thanks.
