Bush & the Iraq War: The Worst Things To Ever Happen To America. How Bad?

Bush & the Iraq War: The Worst Things To Ever Happen To America. How Bad Will It Get?

Ending the War & "Bringing Home the Troops": It's Now a Dead Issue, Sadly

The discussion on the show last night about pulling the troops out, and how long they should stay, just re inforced what has become more and more painfully obvious over the last year or so:

Even if Obama becomes president and the Dems get 60 seats in the Senate, we still won't be able to bring those troops home for years -- probably not for another 5 or 10 years or more.

This is a fucked-up mess with no solution. Bush and his thieving, war-mongering, neo-con cronies created such a monstrous mess that we will never be able to fix it. This WILL be another Vietnam, maybe worse.

We destroyed the country, destroyed the government, destroyed their infrastructure, de-stabilized the nation, turned it into a terrorist haven and breeding ground, and unleashed a three-sided civil war that will rage on, whether we stay or not.

But, even though I hate this fucking war and despise those vicious Republican liars and pricks who lied us into this war, I don't see any way of getting out. They're already building permanent bases there -- what does that tell you?

It will be an endless debate: On the one hand, can it possibly get any worse?

On the other hand, at this point, having unleashed all this chaos, it's almost as though we have a moral obligation to stay to prevent it from possibly becoming even more chaotic and more murderous

And is it inevitable that, once we leave, it will erupt into even more chaos and and an even biggger bloodbath -- no matter whether we leave in 2 yrs or 5 yrs or 20 yrs?

Bush and this war will go down as the worst thing that ever happened to America. Look at the cost already, just in dollars. This is going to be a $10 trillion hemorrhage by the time we get out of there. And, the effects that will have on our quality of life here in the US will be disastrous.

You can't rape the treasury of that many trillions of dollars -- while, at the same time, belligerently and despicably ramming through trillions of dollars worth of permanent tax cuts for the wealthiest one percent -- without it completely fucking up the country for years and years to come -- in terms of how government functions, and how it can protect us, whether it is from a terrorist attack, or environment meltdown or economic catastrophe

Maybe the people who say George Bush is the Anti-Christ are right.

A point worth noting 1freedomfighter. Indeed this war was never about United States National Security or the liberation of the Iraqi people from an evil, corrupt, tyrannical dictator (who we placed in power for those who don't know or don't remember) It was about economic colonialism in every sense of the term. To invade unilaterally, and then have special corporate interest (Like Halliburton, KBR, Blackwater) come in and reap the benefits by taking advantage of the chaotic situation. Usually with their "Cost Plus" programs.

Even 1 trillion dollars is such an astronomical number that it means nothing to most people. The amount of money that we will have eventually invested in this war would have been better spent in R&D in alternative energy and mass transportation.

I just got back from Iraq, and it's clear to me that the only significant thing we have "accomplished" is planting our flag and building colonies in the name of oil and American corporate interest.

If anyone else has been there and has a different opinion let me know.

I definitely think that Bush and the Iraq War are the worst things to happen to America in the last 100 years. Worse, even, than the Depression and WWII

Day of Infamy: The March 20, 2008 US Declaration of War on Iran
by John McGlynn
Global Research, March 24, 2008

March 20, 2008, destined to be another day of infamy. On this date the US officially declared war on Iran. But it's not going to be the kind of war many have been expecting.

No, there was no dramatic televised announcement by President George W. Bush from the White House oval office. In fact on this day, reports the Washington Post, Bush spent some time communicating directly with Iranians, telling them via Radio Farda (the US-financed broadcaster that transmits to Iran in Farsi, Iran's native language) that their government has "declared they want to have a nuclear weapon to destroy people." But not to worry, he told his listeners in Farsi-translated Bushspeak: Tehran would not get the bomb because the US would be "firm."

Over at the US Congress, no war resolution was passed, no debate transpired, no last-minute hearing on the Iran "threat" was held. The Pentagon did not put its forces on red alert and cancel all leave. The top story on the Pentagon's website (on March 20) was: "Bush Lauds Military's Performance in Terror War," a feel-good piece about the president's appearance on the US military's TV channel to praise "the performance and courage of U.S. troops engaged in the global war on terrorism." Bush discussed Iraq, Afghanistan and Africa but not Iran.

But make no mistake. As of Thursday, March 20 the US is at war with Iran.

So who made it official?

A unit within the US Treasury Department, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), which issued a March 20 advisory to the world's financial institutions under the title: "Guidance to Financial Institutions on the Continuing Money Laundering Threat Involving Illicit Iranian Activity."

=======OMG======please read this entire article and tell me what you think!...I started checking it out [his facts] and what John says seems to be right on the money so far.

Bush & the Iraq War: The Worst Things To Ever Happen To America. How Bad Will It Get?

Ending the War & "Bringing Home the Troops": It's Now a Dead Issue, Sadly

The discussion on the show last week about pulling the troops out, and how long they should stay, just re inforced what has become more and more painfully obvious over the last year or so:

Maybe the people who say George Bush is the Anti-Christ are right
